Always professional, on time & VERY convenient! If i am traveling by myself I always take it to Logan. VERY clean. No surprises.

The best way to travel between NY and NH! I used to take bolt bus to Boston and have my friends take the 45 min drive to get me but this is way better and less trouble. I think I paid $ 160 round-​trip which may see pricey BUT it’s the nicest bus I’ve ever been on. The seats are roomy, lots of leg room, assigned seating so you don’t feel like you’ll get a «bad seat». The back of the bus is stocked with snacks! Pop corner chips, almonds, gummies, apples, breakfast bars. And cooler drawers with water, soda, juice and yogurt. Keurig machine with coffee and tea. The bus bathroom is pretty nice considering you’re on a bus. Sometimes it has running water! The drivers are always lovely and get you back and forth as safely and quickly as possible. I highly recommend. I take it from NY to Portsmouth but I think they stop in Tewksbury as well.
P. S. when you leave from Port Authority in NYC it’s Gate 2 which is down stairs!

I took this bus round-​trip between Portsmouth NH and Boston MA, and had no idea that such an easy way to get between the two existed. This was great. It departed South Station promptly on time, and did the same from Portsmouth on the return trip. Complimentary bottled water was available on the bus, which was nice. Seats were comfy and had electrical outlets. For under $ 40, this was not a bad way to travel.

Careful, our bus driving this morning tried to run a merging motorist off the road between Dover and Portsmouth. The car clearly had the right of way to merge in and our driver was furious and tried to push the vehicle out of the way. I think that I will start driving to the commuter rail in MA in the future, might be quicker!

Poor experience on trip to NY. Nothing was said about reserved seats. We found ourselves seated across the aisle from each other even though tickets had been purchased a month in advance. To sit together we were placed in last row. If seats are reserved, we should be able to choose seat at time of booking. Instead of two movies the same movie was played twice. The bus made an additional stop in a rest area to switch drivers. New driver seemed inexperienced and ride was very jerky. Next time we go back to Limoliner from Boston to NY. Much more professional.

Everytime I have been on this line it was amazing. Awesome food, seats are really comfortable, the movies are really cool and awesome. You can bring your own computer and plug into the wifi. Watch movies or even listen to music and get homework done

Portsmouth, NH to NYC Exec bus w leather seats accepts 30 psgrs, only takes 5 hrs! Unltd snacks, fresh fruit, water, WiFi avail. Relaxing way to get to NYC. Highly recommend using valet parking as lot is always full.

I would give this negative stars if I could. Never have I ever experienced more incompetent people than I have at the C&J bus service. It is their responsibility to transport people where they need to go, with that being said both times we tired to use their services we were denied due to «bad weather.» There was no warning of he route cancellations, even with pre ordered tickets. My friend and I were stuck at the bus station in Boston until 1 am because they neglect to keep their scheduled bus times straight. We also had to drive ourselves all the way to Boston because of another cancellation we were not informed about (was only told the bus was cancelled when we arrived to catch the bus). I will never use this service again. The people working here are rude, and just plain stupid. I would not suggest using their service unless you like incompetent people and canceled bus routes.

These guys are the best! The busses come frequently and always arrive on time. They have great facilities and busses and that are always clean. The new double decker busses are also really cool!

You aren’t allowed to talk on your cell phone, understandable because it’s annoying and rude to passengers trying to sleep… But if that’s the case then why am I sitting on this bus behind a driver and an airport employee chatting up a friggin storm at 3am. Hearing about your work schedule, how many trips you drive over the holidays and the odd December weather makes me want to smash my face against the seat in front of me. I usually have no qualms with c&j but I feel like I needed to express my frustration for this hypocritical driver.

I have to admit being a bit surprised at some of the «rants» against C&J Bus Lines. I am a frequent traveler to NYC and could not be happier for their service. The cost is a relative bargain and the comfort and amenities make this a top choice for business or pleasure to the big city. I agree that the parking is problematic, however, but I believe the lot is technically a «park and ride» facility unmanaged by the State or Pease folks. As a result, the options are limited and the addition of the valet service and expanded lot availability have made it a bit better. My guess is that because the lot is «free» there is a lot of abuse and long term parking occurring that is not caused by C&J. The drivers and staff are always courteous and professional. Management at C&J would not accept it any other way. I am a definitely a fan!

Nice customer service. I run to the curb at 11:15p of an 11:10p departure. Bus is still at the curb. I ask the driver who hadn’t closed the doors yet if I can grab my oversized bags and come back out. He says no. Now I’m here for another hour. It’s cool I wanted to get home at 235am.

Best way to travel from Dover to Logan! Much cheaper than parking at the airport. The seats are comfortable, but I’m not sure they’re comfortable enough for the Portsmouth to NYC trip they offer.

Arrogant and unfriendly drivers… I was on a trip to NYC and the driver was yelling at a passenger in a ruthless manner. You don’t pay a price for a ticket to get yelled at.
Acela express is a better option and shows no attitude.

We had a round trip from Boston to Portsmouth and everything went perfectly ! Both bus were punctual and drove us with any trouble to our destination.
The wifi wasn’t working that well but it sufficient to check your email and browse some websites.
it wasn’t to full so nothing to complain about :)

Caution business travelers! I decided to try C&J on my ride to Logan so that I could get some work done on the ride and not have to fight traffic at the same time. I was sorely mistaken. They do not allow cell phone use on the bus, so I had to cancel both meetings I had scheduled. I will not be using them again. Beware!

I grew up in NH, and I go to college in NYC. I make the trip back and forth several times – either leaving for cheap in Chinatown and having my parents pick me up in Boston, or just taking the C & J back to Portsmouth.
Now, there’s something to be said for the cheap. I absolutely hate breaking the bank, especially on travel, and I figure if I get there in one piece I’m fine with that. But as the prices of bus lines have risen from 15 to 25, and then as it gets closer to the holiday season up to 45 on some lines, I found myself looking for the C and J as a replacement. For a little more money, the trip is a lot easier, especially if you’re going anywhere north of Boston.
First off, the duration of the ride: the trip is 5 hours EXACTLY to Portsmouth. The longest it’s taken me is 5hr7minutes. For people who frequently travel between NYC and Boston via bus, this is remarkable, as I frequently find myself either stuck in traffic, or the bus line getting delayed anf finding myself arriving in Boston sometimes over 5 hours. By taking 495, they cut down on most of the traffic and get you further, faster.
In terms of the quality of the ride, the seats are FAR nicer, with cupholders, and entertainment systems. I normally try to read, so I’m a big fan of cushier seats, and the unlimited snacks they provide you.
For all intensive purposes, if you’re going to the NH area from NYC, the C and J is probably worth a few extra bucks. No complaints in the several trips I’ve taken with them.

Have taken bus several times from Portsmouth to Logan since last review, and the seats have been much roomier. Must have been on an older bus, the buses we have been on for the more recent trips have not had those plastic fold up trays.
Also, took bus from Portsmouth to NYC and had a very positive experience. Seats were very comfortable, and snacks, coffee and water were available, as well as much stronger Wifi than on bus to Boston. Our hotel was within an easy walk of bus station.
We plan to take C&J whenever we travel to Logan or NYC now.

We ride C&J often as we fly out of Logan Airport. Most of the time the buses are very clean and quite. We really love Dan the driver, who we have had a couple of times. He is very kind, soft spoken, and has a bit of a «zen» personality. C&J is lucky to have him. He is a gem. We love the cell phone policy. You can’t beat the peace and quite in this very loud world.
Why only 4 stars? We have had more than one instance where we arrived at Logan after a 12+ hour flight, and the bus was full so we had to wait for another. That is NOT what you want to experience after a really long day of international travel.
Also, the staff at the Portsmouth Valet desk (and sometimes the reception desk) are quite loud, juvenile and talking smack while customers are waiting at the terminal. With the «quiet» policy on the buses, makes sense to have a «quite» policy in the terminal. Or at least hire more mature folks for those positions. A handful of your staff could probably tone it down quite a bit, and act in a more professional manner.

I needed this bus service to transport me from Portsmouth to Boston for an evening flight. I flew into the Air National Guard base and got a ride to the terminal which was clean and in good order. The attendant was friendly and direct in selling me a fare from Portsmouth to Logan Airport. Unfortunately they didn’t offer a military discount but 23 $ was very reasonable.
Loading onto the bus at the departure time was orderly and the bus was clean with ample leg room. I found that the ride was comfortable, quiet and fast. Once we arrived on time in Boston the driver made an announcement for the different terminals and took our luggage off for my travelling party.
Overall I would give them thumbs up for walk up service and will definitely recommend them again.
