Zenful Monkey Holistic Massage Studio

I absolutely LOVE Zenful Monkey. Helen is knowledgeable, easy to get along with, and super strong! I personally enjoy a really deep massage, and seek it out for athletic recovery (as well as relaxation and well being)– and Helen does this perfectly! She always asks where I need work done, and not only helps me with injuries, but recommends stretches and correctives. She really goes above and beyond the call of duty!
The studio itself is squeaky-​clean, quiet, and beautiful… it really sets the tone for a «zenful» experience. I’m immediately at ease when I walk in, but that’s nothing compared to how I feel when I leave :)

From the moment you walk in the door, you can tell the energy in the place is peaceful, welcoming and kind. Helen is an absolute professional with the ability to immediately put you at ease and make you feel very comfortable. Her knowledge of her craft is amazing and she can seemingly sense where your issues lay. She is very easy to engage with and is an outstanding listener. This was one of the best massages I have ever receive and I highly recommend Helen to anyone seeking massage.

I have been getting regular massages for years, from many different massage therapists. Helen is one of, if not, the best massage therapist ever! It’s super easy to book an appointment online, the studio is peaceful and inviting. Overall it was a lovely experience. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed and really good. Try the aroma therapy massage. Yummmmm.

My sister bought me a gift certificate for this place, and I’m very glad she did. The experience was wonderful. I appreciated the various techniques (hot stone, stretch, deep tissue) and the whole experience was calm and relaxing. I left feeling amazing. I’ve been to various massage therapists around the city, though I don’t go regularly. This was one of the best massage experiences in my life and it’s where I’ll go again.

Oh Zenful Monkey! WoW, you really helped me relax. I seriously feel like I had a day at the spa!
First of all, the environment is super relaxing with soothing music and the natural low light that comes in through the windows creates an environment of solitude. The massage table was super comfortable and the sweet smells lulled me to my happy place.
Helen placed such great attention to detail and found areas that were super tight in my back and neck. She used hot rocks that felt simply amazing (something I’ve never had done before). I felt she was super in tune to my body and after the massage I felt like a new version of me, relaxed and completely well like a Zenful Monkey ;) I think I may or may not have actually left Zenful Monkey floating on a little cloud :)
I would recommend this place to anyone!

Zenful Monkey was fantastic! I have residual pain from an old sports injury — every morning I wake up with a sore left hip. But not the morning after my massage with Helen! It was a quaint place, very soothing and calming, and the Essence of Zen foot treatment and Fusion Massage made my body feel like it was 10-​yrs younger! I highly recommend this place! And I am going back for more — Helen (the owner as well) offers a nice incentive to return — $ 15 off my next two visits. What more could a girl ask for??? ;-)

Had my first hot stone massage and was totally blown away! Helen was super in-​tune and friendly, I already scheduled my next massage and plan on being a regular.

I just had a massage with Helen last week, and it was wonderful on all levels. She understood the problem areas I’ve been experiencing, and used the right techniques and pressure to work out the kinks. I left the massage feeling super relaxed and peaceful.
Additionally, her space felt very safe and cozy. Everything about the environment is perfect — the colors, the lighting, the decorations, the temperature, and the cleanliness in the bathroom. It was a really nice touch to have washcloths in the bathroom so you can rub your face down after the massage!
I’ve seen a lot of body workers in Portland over the last three months, and Helen certainly stands above the crowd!

I’ve had the exact same experience as Lilly. I have tried to contact Zenful Monkey every day this week to redeem my Google Offer voucher and they won’t answer the phone or return my calls. They claim they return calls within 2 hours. I’ll be requesting my refund tomorrow. What a disappointment. If they can’t deliver on a deal I doubt they can deliver on the service either…

Helen gave me a hot stone massage (which was a gift from a friend) and it was AMAZING. I have had many massages by different people but this (especially the hot stones) was the best. I will definitely be back and send people to Zenful Monkey. The studio is a little hard to find but once you get there, it’s super quiet (not like other spas that are next to noisy roads and barking dogs) and well maintained, clean and relaxing. I wish I was in there right now… sigh.

Zenful Monkey is lovely, clean, and yes, offers wonderful massages! I received an incredible massage from owner, Helen, which included multiple techniques that had me snoozing, relaxing, and refreshed afterward. I had the hot stone massage, and was amazed by how relaxing it was to have stones placed on my body, as well as used as massage tools. All the bedding is heated, and since it was such a cold day, I felt like I was getting a day at the spa, beyond a massage.
If you get on their email list, they periodically offer great deals! Even without, the prices are reasonable.
I’d highly recommend them!

AMAZING! The fusion massage I received from Helen was like nothing I had ever experienced before. The complexity of pressures and heat sensations made all other massages I’ve had seem bland. Helen approached my muscles from angles that worked, and gave me gentlebut firm stretches that increased my flexability along with the total relaxation that the massage provided. My next appointment is already booked.

I tried in vain for months to schedule an appointment to redeem a gift certificate I was given by my wife and never received a call back. I would not recommend this studio to anyone.

I would have liked to have been able to rate this place, but they wouldn’t return my phone call to set up and appt. Their voicemail says they will return your call within two hours. I called three times and have yet to hear back. I had a groupon for this place; I’ve already requested a refund for that groupon.
Not good customer service, guys.

I was given a gift of 3 hot stone massages at Zenful Monkey for Christmas by my son. Neither of us had heard of the place or been there. It turned out to be the most wonderful experience ever!
The place is beautifully decorated and clean and warm and soothing. Just being in the place makes you feel better right from the start. Helen is a very sensitive caring knowledgeable massage therapist. She makes you feel very welcome and nurtured.
I first got to soak my feet in warm water with essential oils, with a warm neck wrap and beautiful music playing, candles burning. Heaven!
Then laying there with warm rocks on my back, my body was so relaxed! Then the massage with smooth warm rocks! Everyone has to try this… there is nothing like it.
I’ve been back many times!

Zenful Monkey is a new massage studio in a residential area of Sellwood.
I’m not a regular spa-​goer, just came here in response to a flyer delivered to my door, in search of some comfort for my aching feet, and interested in what might be available a few blocks from my house.
The studio is part of the owner’s house, on the ground floor, with a separate back entrance at the side. Quite pleasantly arranged, the rooms have high ceilings, soothing dark colors and music and an atmosphere that’s comfortable with a touch of the exotic.
I got a foot soak in a bowl lined with smooth rocks, a warm neck wrap, a interestingly tingly scrub from the knees down, and a quite pleasant foot massage. $ 70 for an hour.
