YMCA of Columbia-Willamette Child Care Division

Up until this week, I actually would have given them a five star review for their after school programs. My daughter has special needs, and has been with the same after school teacher with their program from September until this month. This week, they gave the parents one weeks notice that they were moving our teacher to another site. They needed her, a more experienced teacher, to take over another site. Because of my daughter’s special needs, she doesn’t adjust to new people well, and there is only two months left in the school year. YMCA chose to move teachers around, and disrupt the relationships with families and children, rather than hire qualified staff or simply train the staff they already have at the other site. It showed a lot of disrespect to the relationships that the kids have with their caregivers and I am really disappointed with the way they chose to handle this.
