Windward Construction was formed in 2004 and is a licensed, bonded, and insured residential general contractor. We are a full service contractor that specializes in renovations, additions, and exterior improvements including decks and fences.

Windward is an enrolled contractor in the City of Portland Field Issuance Remodel program that provides expedited permitting options for many residential projects. We were featured on the 2013 Irvington Tour of Homes for a kitchen addition on a historic home that we built.

History

Established in 2004.

Windward Construction, LLC was formed by President Matt Greer. We are a full service general contractor specializing in residential remodel and new construction.

Matt and the team are all excited about the diversity of projects and people we have worked with over the last decade. From working off plans by award winning architects and designers to a client who showed us a tattoo of what she wanted built, we can do it all.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Matt was born and raised in Portland, Oregon where environmental consciousness became part of his genetics. Experimental tree houses from discarded construction materials were put together in the woods behind his house growing up in NW Portland.

Drawn to the joy that comes from seeing what is created on a daily basis Matt has worked in virtually every aspect of construction since he started in the trades almost 2 decades ago.

Matt is also a certified sailing instructor and has taught students from age 8 to 80 on the Columbia River as well as the waters of Washington’s San Juan Archipelago.

In 2003, Matt obtain his 100 Ton Captain’s license and is USCG certified as a Master of both Sailing and Towing vessels to that tonnage. While certificates are great, knowing one’s own limitations is highly important as Matt prefers more nimble craft and salt water spray (let’s face it, 100 ton is a big boat!).

When not working Matt enjoys spending time with his wonderful son.
