Wonderful customer service. I rarely buy liquor but they always are ready with a spot on recommendation. I’ll say, «I want a nice mid-price tequila» or bourbon or what have you. They always make excellent recommendations with which my liquor snob friends concur. I had Norwegian in-laws visiting and wanted to find aquavit — they just happened to have the largest selection in the city, and one of the staff was able to point me to a good substitute when the most authentic brand was just sold out.

This is blocks from home and my go-to liquor store accordingly. I consider myself lucky as it’s a great shop. There is a wide selection despite the smaller size of the store. How great? They had Crater Lake Hatch Chile vodka when it was supposedly only sold at the distiller. Made my day. And that’s not even the shop’s strong point. Their best feature is their knowledgeable staff. You can ask any man in the place a question about booze and get an informed response, a solid recommendation, and most likely a fun factoid to file away. Note also the prices are incredibly reasonable and the sales often tempt me to try new things at a discounted price. Overall a great little liquor shop.

This place is best liquor store besides going into NW or something. They have the best selection of Bourbon and Scotch and other hard to find whiskeys. The staff are always friendly and efficient. This place is awesome! Thanks a million.

The employees are the most polite, non-invasive helpers one could ask for. Can’t speak highly enough. It was a uplifting 8 minutes I spent there.

Great store, with fantastic selection. No matter what liquor you are into they will have it, if they don’t they will do there best to get it for you. The staff is very friendly and the store feels nice the moment you walk in. I recommend this place to everyone.

This is not the closest liquor store to me, but it is the liquor store that I go to. Unlike the Powell liquor store that makes me feel like a dirty criminal from the moment I walk in, this shop provides a great shopping experience. I find the staff to be friendly and helpful, the selection to be large despite the store being relatively small, and the overall ambiance is warm and inviting. There seems to always be parking out front, even during peak booze-buying hours. At the end of the day, they provide a service well enough that I’m willing to go out of my way to get it from them. I’m a fan.

Westmoreland is a great neighborhood liquor store. Can’t fault them for the Oregon pricing, which makes the bottom-shelf well liquors cost far more than you might be used to elsewhere — but you can praise them for their terrific selection, from a ton of locally produced gin to a shockingly good selection of single-malt whisky. On my first visit I found not just a ton of interesting Scotch, including many limited-edition bottles, but Japanese and even Amrut, a prizewinning Indian whisky I’d read about but never found on a shelf.

I agree super friendly. Great selection and prices. Easy parking. Great find!!! Def go back:) *** We visited a POS liquor store off of Se 82nd and king rd… The guy behind the counter insisted on arguing with me. I just want my liquor, I really don’t want to argue with you.*** I appreciate this place because it gets that good service and quality product go together!:)

There are some liquor stores I avoid because the employees are so cranky and rude. But even if this wasn’t my neighborhood liquor store, I would go out of my way to come here. The staff here are *always* friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The place is clean and bright. Plenty of boozy choices, plus mixers, etc., and it’s now open on Sunday! But most of all(and I know I said it before) I just think the staff is one of the friendliest in Portland.

It’s small but mighty. Great crew that works here, too. Not a gentleman in the place who cannot tell you any and everything about any product on the shelf. They have helped me put together a few gift baskets too, with some of those fun promo-pack type of things, saving me a few bucks in the process. Perfect neighborhood liquor store. Not the biggest, not the flashiest, but it’s got that nice Sellwood vibe and good weekend hours.

Like a kid in a candy store, I’m an excitable lush in a liquor store. Westmoreland has all my favorite poisons as well as mixers, citrus, and bar tools. Store is always tidy and shelves are well-stocked. I bought at cocktail shaker($ 10) to try out my hand making mixed drinks. So far I’ve only mastered the cosmopolitan, but with Westmoreland stumble distance away, with knowledgeable employees, I look forward to experimenting with seasonal cocktails.

Great selection, nice people behind the counter, clean store that somehow feels more upscale than others. Oh and they stay open later than a lot of nearby stores! What more could you ask for?

A surprisingly good selection for such a small liquor store, but they always seem to have interesting new bottles before other stores. Part of this is because they supply a whiskey bar farther north on Milwaukie Ave., which tries for a very complete selection. Those of us hunting for goodies in that line benefit from the connection.
