I love being greeted when I walk in the door. I wouldn’t exactly call the pharmacists friendly, but I don’t go to the Walgreens pharmacy to have girly chit chat while I pick up my prescription. There is a man who works there who is absolutely a joy to have a conversation with. Next time I see him I’ll ask for his name. Overall a reliable, great neighborhood Walgreens.

Pharmacy staff can be very rude. Sometimes there is a hostile vibe from staff. Don’t think the employees here are treated well because they pretty much all seem miserable. They sell gift cards from companies no longer in the state and when I brought it to their attention they did nothing, even months later.

The pharmacist here was very rude and unhelpful. Also Walgreens, why have one person working on a busy day. Ridiculous, I will never return

I don’t know if this is true for all Walgreens, but this location is the worst for practically everything. The pharmacy is staffed with the rudest, most uninterested, unmotivated employees I have ever seen. They say the prescriptions are ready, get to the store and they claim they don’t even have an order for it to be filled? Whatever. Call in to ask about a certain prescription and get treated like I’m an asshole for asking the original fill date? Whatever. Standing in line witnessing everyone ahead of me being treated like shit because the pharmacy techs hate their jobs? Whatever. Closing your pharmacy for «lunch breaks» every day? Like you don’t know how to stagger lunch breaks? Whatever.
Walking around the store looking for an associate to unlock a toothbrush? Does anyone actually WORK here? Ask why toothbrushes are locked up in the first place and getting a response of «Well people steal!»…whatever. It’s a toothbrush. Nobody should lock up their toothbrushes because «people steal». People steal all kinds of shit, don’t make everyone else wait for an employee to decide they want to be available to unlock a freaking toothbrush. Seriously took over ten minutes to get the toothbrushes unlocked. WHATEVER.
This place is pathetic.

How many times has Walgreens saved my life just by being the only God forsaken place open on Christmas/​Thanksgiving/​violent flu and diarrhea episode? Too many to count. Last week someone drove an SUV through the glass front doors, hooked a chain to the SUV and then the ATM, and drug the ATM out of the store. Bravo!

This place is so pathetic and the Soviet style red tape is just unimaginable.
My husband has leukemia– they know this, he used to get a lot of meds from this location until one day when I went in there for a strong pain killer, of which he’d gotten before at this location. I told the uninterested assistant I’d go do my shopping at New Seasons and come back in 45 or so– as even though I had a paper signed copy, I totally realize they have to be careful about scheduled drugs– however — the assistant told me to go home and they would call me when the script was done. I was not happy as I didn’t want to make another trip out and she wouldn’t budge and nor would she even be moved to look at our obviously pharmaceutical blood cancer devastated history, she just kept staring at me saying it was policy. So I went home and was pissed. Then came the call it was ready ten minutes later so I go back, get it, the pharmacist knows the assistant is an unmoving robot and tries to apologize but explains this is the way it is, because Walgreens themselves had some sort of pain killer scandal in Breaking Bad, NM or something. Whatever. My point, at great length is this– they want to be your ‘community’ pharmacy yet they do not respect the patients who are truly ill even if they have detailed history. Hey Walgreens! You are Not A Good neighbor! I told the pharmacist I would never come back EVER and the kicker? The nasty no empathy assistant wants to know if I want to use my advantage/​rewards card. Unfreakingbelievable. I go to Pharmaca on the west side now, no attitude and no negative bs…

The employees do not care in the least. I got in line after picking up the one item I needed and there were ten people ahead of me. The only cashier called for assistance («I see three») twice and no-​one responded. I asked her if the pharmacy could check me out and she just rolled her eyes at me! I had to ask twice more before she would finally respond with a reluctant «yes.»
I was in a big hurry so I ran back there. They also ignored me! It was five minutes (I timed it) before one of the pharmacy techs even looked at me and still three more before she helped me. The other two workers never notice me. She was not assisting other customers, just tapping away at the keyboard. I’m sure it was important but seriously? She could spare 30 seconds to ring up my baby formula. Maybe she assumed I was using WIC and wasn’t worth her time? I was not.
While I waited at the pharmacy I heard the front cashier call for assistance twice more. It took me ten minutes to do something that should have taken two. The entire time I was there I didn’t see a manager, a photo tech, a cosmetics clerk, or a stock boy/​girl. I used to work in a Walgreen that was much slower than this one and there were ALWAYS at least three, usually five people working the floor/​stock room. I’m avoiding this place like the plague from now on.

Walgreens on 33^rd has and will continue to be our 12^th man! As new parents, their hours and pharmacy have no equal. And balance rewards have helped keep us on budget while taking advantage of awesome deals to get the goods that we need.

Nice folks working there whenever I go to the pharmacy. It seems people may blame them for things out of their control– I’ve always had an easy time getting what I need and they call to remind me when I forget. Simple as that.

After double knee replacement surgery I came to Walgreens to fill my pain meds and they told me they could not tell me when I could pick it up or how long it would take to fill etc. I have had RA for 10 years and filled pain meds here before many a time but they had a recent change in policy… They told me that in addition to my paper prescription signed by the doctor they also had to contact my doctor and possibly wait for a call back. This was at the 24 hour store at 9pm so obviously my doctors office was closed, then I was told they didn’t have the quantity in stock anyway… I came to another Walgreens next day and am having to wait until up to 9pm for my script, it’s 3pm now. Those of you who have had double knee replacements know you cannot drive so I have to ask friends to take time out of their day to do this… I have found out this is a Walgreens policy only having nothing to do with state or federal policy… They just lost a customer in me! The attitude that accompanied this distressing news was appalling! Shame on you Walgreens Pharmacy! Kudos to the pharmacist, she has always been professional and states she will try to get it done quickly this time but all future scripts for pain meds will take longer to be filled. Who has the time or the desire to go to Walgreens sveral times for 1 prescription?

I bought some pain patches that were on sale for $ 5.99 with the fantastical, awesome Walgreen’s card. Dang if I wasn’t charged the full price of $ 8.99. I had to go back to the store and get my three bucks.
Seriously, some consumer agency somewhere should investigate and fine the living crap out of Walgreen’s. How often does this happen? How many people don’t notice they’ve been ripped off or just don’t have the time to go back to the store and get a refund?
The price on the shelf should always be what rings up at the register. This is 2011 and I don’t believe Walgreen’s doesn’t have the technology to make their sh*t work right.
If this store wasn’t so flippin’ close to my house, I’d never go back.

Pretty good Walgreens. Kind of small but I find more here than some of the larger ones. I mostly use the pharmacy and they are always ready by the fill time and nice staff in the pharmacy that will ring up my other items.
Last time I was there I was looking for sunscreen and the woman working in that area came over to help and seemed like she knew everything about sunscreen. Very nice.
There do tend to be people outside begging for money so that I don’t like but I guess not their fault?

This is the best Walgreens I’ve visited in Portland, and I’ve been to several.
The employees are competent and even helpful. They nearly always have what I am looking for in stock and if they don’t they are able to tell me when they are expecting to receive it again.
The parking lot is shared with New Seasons and is also used for nearby Hot Lips and Subway, etc so it is regularly full although I have never not been able to find a spot.
The store is clean and well kept for the most part. My preferred Walgreens.
