In every one of our Portland Kids Martial Arts classes, your child will develop each of these and more. And they’ll have a ton of fun too. Every class contains group activities, games & more that encourage positive social skills, friend-​making and fun.

History

Established in 1988.

The U.S. World Class Taekwondo Association is the largest group of professional Taekwondo schools in the United States. Since 1988, the Association has been providing quality instruction to over 150,000 students worldwide and it all started in Portland, Oregon!

We offer personalized instruction based on your needs. Our experienced, award-​winning instructors are ready to help you reach your fullest potential. Whether you want to learn discipline, lose weight or just try something new — we can tailor a program that fits your needs and fitness level. We have classes for all ages and specialize in family instruction. Whatever your need — we are ready to serve you!

Martial arts is a tool. It’s something we use to improve ourselves and our lives. For a child being bullied, it’s an opportunity to stand up for himself, and gain confidence and pride. Meet the Business Owner

Chief Master Rick S.

Business Owner

Chief Master Rick Shin has been training Taekwondo for the past 30 years and holds a 7^th Degree Black Belt. He is currently Oregon State Taekwondo President, Executive Director of Pan American Taekwondo Union and CEO of U.S. World Class Taekwondo Association. He was an official delegate to 2008 & 2012 World Taekwondo Championships. He is certified International Referee & Master Instructor by Pan American Taekwondo Union and World Taekwondo Headquarters.

Chief Master Rick Shin truly believes that Taekwondo can be a life-​changing experience, «I know I wouldn’t be where I am at today without Taekwondo in my life. Taekwondo gave me the determination, focus and dedication that I needed to be successful in my life. My goal in teaching Taekwondo is to offer everyone the positive experience I had».
