Description

Specialties

At Urban Crush, you’ll find artisan wines made on-site by small local producers available to taste, sip, and purchase. Pair a flight of fine Northwest wines with a selection of small plates in our tasting room, where we offer pours and share the stories behind wines made right here at Urban Crush. Get to know our winemakers, who you’ll often find offering samples of their wines behind the bar, or take a glass to our lounge, where you can relax as you get better acquainted with your favorite wine and food pairing.

Because we want to accommodate all our visitors, groups of six or more are encouraged to call ahead. Private tastings customized to your individual wine and culinary interests are available by appointment.

Urban Crush also offers creative programs for your own personal or private labels. Give us a call at 503.477.6994 to arrange your custom private gathering (including blending your own bottle or barrel as well as holding a wine education seminar or dinner) and host your next event at Urban Crush!

History

Established in 2015.

Urban Crush is a group of small, family-owned wineries that share a production facility, tasting room, and wine lounge. Our winemakers bring grapes from acclaimed vineyards across Oregon and Washington to our custom crush winery in downtown Portland, where we combine traditional techniques with state-of-the-art equipment to craft award-winning wines. Urban Crush invites visitors to experience these locally-sourced, handcrafted wines in the relaxed atmosphere of our tasting room and wine lounge.

Meet the Business Owner

Ed F.

Business Owner

Since their inaugural vintage in 2007, Ed and Laureen had been making their award-winning Angel Vine wines as custom crush clients at wineries in Carlton, OR. But by 2014, Ed and Laureen were ready to find (and found) a place to make their wine their way – a winery whose urban-industrial setting would give them space to work alongside other craft winemakers and share the «fruits» of their labor in a dedicated tasting room and lounge. After many months and nearly one too many dashed hopes, Laureen finally found the ideal location to house a small winery business in vibrant SE Portland. The couple took a leap of faith and founded Urban Crush, Portland’s premier winery and tasting facility, as the new home of Angel Vine and a selection of artisan winemakers.

Ed and Laureen live in Portland with their spunky cellar dog, Oliver, and run Angel Vine with the help of their two daughters, Alex and Morgan.
