History

Established in 1980.

I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1980 after doing an apprenticeship with a large prestigious tree service in Marin County California. I wanted to be near my family and there were a lot of trees here. I have done thousands of tree trimming jobs throughout the Portland Metro area since. I take great pride in coming back and seeing how well they are doing years later and have played a part in taking care of some of the grand old historical trees in the area.

I love trees, taking care of them and working outdoors. It has been my pleasure to have maintained some of the largest trees in the Portland Metro area. It has also been a great pleasure to me to meet some of the wonderful people that have chosen the Portland Metro area for their homes.

I called Tom out to get an estimate for a few tree removals and some trimming. He came out after hours and recommended another removal as well, mentioning that the young tree was only a few inches from a gas line, directly next to our foundation. Almost certainly would be an expensive and potentially dangerous problem sooner than later.
They removed that one for free, in addition to all the other work they did, and it was done quickly, politely and at a reasonable price. Plus, the quality of the work was good. What more could you want?

Hi Guys–
I tried to send you an email via your web site, but your web site is not working. You worked at a house on SE Sherrett on 2⁄23. Sadly you had many branches hanging far into the street making it difficult to get by. I got some scratches on my car going by. I’d like to suggest you pay better attention to debris that hangs out into the street in the future.

Tom gave us a reasonable estimate for removal of a lot of dead limbs and removal of some limbs downed in the last storm. He and his crew showed up at 7:30 AM with a (really big) chipper and once he’d detailed out the work, they got down to business climbing and cutting. They did all the work they had promised, cleaned up thoroughly after themselves and left the property better looking than they found it. I will call them again when I need more work done.

I had an appt. with Tom Burke for him to trim my tree. He decided that he was not comfortable working with me, but he didn’t call to let me know he wasn’t coming. I finally called 3 days later thinking I must have gotten the day wrong. But no, he had just decided he didn’t want to work with me. Not good business.
