delicious, healthy, simple food. the onigiri is great, and the brown rice that it’s made with gives it a hearty feel. the miso soup, strangely enough, has beets in it, but i think it’s all the better for it. and there’s a whole lotta of it for only two dollars! the owner is a super nice guy, and the tucked away location makes it as if you’re truly finding a hidden gem.

I love triangles, especially when I can eat em! I used to get one every week at the Salmon Farmers Market but I am happy that now I can get this delicious simple food everyday. The salmon onigiri is a must and addicting. I also got the Japanese curry and iced green tea. Add the down to earth menu with the quaint location and you really feel like you found a little piece of Japan zen in Portland.

Tucked inside a little hidden house /garage on Alberta, Todbott’s Triangles serves deliciously simple food for ridiculously reasonable prices. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and made me feel like I had been transported to a tiny house in Japan. Super Kawaii! Onigiri is the main focus of the menu, with 5 different filling choices. I had the salmon and umeboshi, and the delicious miso soup, and wished I had room in my belly for the 4 other flavors. Can’t wait to go back – Oishi-né!

Really great place for lunch. The triangles(onigiri) were tasty, every one of them and really affordable. I’m definitely going back. The fella there was friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Its an informal affair in a little house behind the main house that’s along the street. You just look for the sign on the street and follow the path to the back. It does take a few minutes to make up your onigiri, so if you go in expecting to walk out instantly with some tasty morsels, you’ll be disappointed.

5 stars for being something healthy and interesting in this brave new world of gravy, curds, and waffles. No longer technically a food cart as it is enclosed an what was a garage, the food is still prepared on the small carts that have now been moved inside. Todbott’s is a bit tricky to find, it is in a small space behind a house next to La Bonita, marked by a very nice yet subtle marquee sign on the sidewalk. The miso was really nice… he added some pickled beets to it, which caused me concern, but it was actually really good. It is now one of my(few) preferred beet preparations! The triangles are big brown rice triangles with a bit of filling in them. I tried the shitake and the dried tuna. They were both delicious and unique. The fillings are quite potent, and have an interesting spiciness. The tuna was salty/fishy/spicy/yum! This was not a fast preparation. Especially the miso took a bit. Not long, but it wasn’t serve and go fare. Fortunately, there’s a comfy couch and some books to browse, and Todd(?) was friendly.

Made-to-order, locally sourced, incredibly delicious brown rice onigiri’s in a tiny but cozy space with really friendly hosts. What more can you ask for? Oh and the prices are very reasonable too. The onigiri combo for 8.50 will more than fill you up, and the chilled amasake dessert — mm we could eat that everyday. We probably would eat here everyday if we lived closer. Unilocalers — let’s keep this place our little secret?

I’ve only experienced this as the littlest food cart in all of Portland — small but mighty. I haven’t been to the Alberta location yet. These triangles fill me with healthy, delicious wonder. They’re served up in clever little paper filters or something, nicely priced and hit the spot! I also appreciate that Todbott is sure not to handle money and food without switching gloves or washing. Money is damned dirty! Arigato, Todbottsan!

Yum! Umeboshi onigiri made with brown rice! I found Toddbott first at the Muddy Boot festival, then again at the Montavilla Farmer’s Market. Every time I see him I get stoked for some ume. Healthy, delicious, and not too expensive. Arigato!
