Tiffany Kim – State Farm Insurance Agent

after calling around various insurance agents for homeowner’s and car insurance I decided to go with Tiffany Kim and State Farm.
I gave them all the information they asked and they gave me a competitive quote which I accepted. It was about $ 200 less than the Car insurance rate I had been paying for two years with Geico.
I paid the downpayment and expected no problems .
A month later they called me and said there was a problem and the underwriters came back with a rate that nearly DOUBLED what they were proposing I pay originally. I had two weeks to pay the raised amount or find another insurance agency. the rate their underwriters were proposing was nearly $ 4800 a year!
Now I had already canceled my other home and car insurance so I get two weeks to either accept their rate hike or start over and find another company so going through all that i was pretty furious.
After I calmed down I realized that they really did their best and probably was a clerical error and not the nefarious fantasy I unfairly dreamed up. I researched a little found out that it is almost common practice for an underwriter to switch out after accepting a quote and that the first two months is not a legal contract. While this still pissed me off I could not really blame Tiffany Kim’s office other than perhaps they ommitted tell me that may be a possibility in the first place. In the end I did switch my car insurance but kept the home insurance State Farm since they did ANSWER THE PHONE EVERYTIME I CALLED and kept their cool even though I was a total hothead.
