History
Established in 2008.
Once was a nasty beer bar called Jack n Jerry’s:Now Sundown Pub. Owned by Julian and Wydra Orr. The idea was to create a neighborhood hangout that was clean, mellow, and safe. We’ve got that. Now the Sundown is blessed (daily)with new wonderful customers that have become The raison d’etre. Wydra manages the bar as well as provides the ever-changing menu. Her experience as a bay area chef, and managing restaurants and bars in California, Hawaii, and Oregon is exemplified by her natural love for food, and her way of turning any place into her own home. Don’t be surprised if she asks you to taste something just like your mom would! Changes are constant around the place. On the horizon will be a late-night café, and a large garden area on Lovely Alley that may possibly NOT be for the smokers.(Sorry guys, surely it will get worked out.)No date yet of when, since there is mucho work to be done… Free pool with Rickey Sunday.
Meet the Manager
Wydra O.
Manager
I began cooking professionally as a French chef at seventeen. My love for food began much earlier at age three, due to the fact that my mother was a great and intuitive cook. I never have stopped learning about food from other cultures, traditions, and nations. And fellow chefs. I believe I was pouring martinis, Moscow mules, sweet Rob Roys, and opening champagne bottles almost as young. I helped with my mom’s catering business for many years before flying the coop. Maid In The USA was actually my first business that branched away from cooking. It started in Bend, and took me on busman’s holidays for over twenty years. Many of the wonderful customers from the cleaning business also benefited from my ability to cater their parties and weddings, and other events. I still love to clean. If you come to Sundown, you can tell. My husband, Julian and I met over ten years ago at Mt. Tabor Theatre. We married in The Space Room. Then finally opened the bar he always wanted.
