Specialties
Tea Dogu is a place to explore and shop for tools, implements, tea and sweets used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It can also be very useful for anyone having a strong admiration of the Japanese motif.
History
Established in 2008.
Eric Lane has been studying Chado for twenty-four years. It has always been a passion of his to understand the different dogu or tools used in the Tea Ceremony. In 2008, Eric finally set up an on-line store to sell dogu and solicit discussion about different items.
Tea Dogu has many supply contacts in Japan, and can get almost anything related to Japanese Tea Ceremony. «We enjoy meeting teachers and students of Chado, and help them select the perfect utensils for their taste,» says Eric. «We’re learning and sharing every day.»

More recently, Eric and his family moved to Los Angeles where he met Sensei Nobuko Inuma, and continued studying with her. Eric’s daughter, Adrienne, also started taking lessons. In 2007, Eric and Adrienne went to Kyoto with the Wakai Dokukai group to attend Rikyuki, and to take classes at Urasenke.
