Good tour, we learned a lot! We were pleasantly surprised by all the history that is contained within this one house. The preservation and restorations are very impressive, a place I would definitely take my children to someday.

We had a wonder visit to the Tate House on a weekend afternoon. Stepping back in time made me appreciate how safe and comfortable we are today, and the Tate’s were well off. The docent was knowledgeable and quick to answer the questions from the 6 people touring the home.

Nice surprise — good colonial
House tour very close to Portland Airport, in a charming spot by the river.
Tiny gift shop — the house itself is nice, docent I would just rate as ok.

I’m an old house enthusiast and this was a great house to tour.
The guide was just ok, not great… but it’s a great house to go see a typical colonial style home without trekking to Williamsburg.
Put the kids in the car, take them here, and teach them about good old fashioned ‘Murkan history.
