I’ve been coming to Table 6 since they were a cart on the Metro plaza in the summer of 2014! It’s no surprise they won out the competition for the coveted little corner café space on the plaza later that year, as they’ve got a knack for serving up a wonderful variety of food that’s always fresh and has that«home-cooked» quality. Chef Cindy has been doing this for a long time, and is a real pro, and Damon keeps the front counter humming. They’re always helpful with questions about the menu and ingredients, and just really nice people! Expect a 10 – 15 minute wait during the busy lunch hour, but it’s well worth it, and you can read the New York Times while you wait!(…also, be aware that during big conventions at the Oregon Convention Center, Table 6 can get overwhelmed — best to just save it for another day if you happen to come when a small mob has also arrived.!) I pick up lunch at Table 6 three or four times a week, so it’s hard for me to pick a favorite dish. So instead, I’ll pick several! At the top of the list are Cindy’s Sweedish meatballs, one of her rotating speciality items. Get ‘em if you see that on the menu, as you’ll also get a side of homemade mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam… mmm! Any of the Mexican specials are a good pick, too — especially the taco salad. The Greek and Mideast specials are terrific, too. From the daily menu, the Metro Bowl is a great staple of rice, avocado and other goodies, and the Turkey & Avacado sandwich is a good everyday bet, too. If you’re looking for salads on the daily menu, go for the Chef Salad — huge and tasty! And if you’re a cookie fiend like me, get a couple of Cindy’s fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert — I can’t begin to add the calories I’ve added to my diet by having two of these little treats with every lunch for the past year, but you only live once… and they’re worth it! :-) One of the little secrets of the Metro café space is the little loft — a bright and relaxing retreat in the Lloyd District. There are only a few tables in the loft section, so arrive by Noon if you’re hoping for one. In summer, Cindy and Damon have several patio tables set up in the courtyard, surrounded by planters and shaded with umbrellas — also a nice little escape from the rush of the district. If you are a business in the area, Table 6 also offers catering. We use them regularly at Metro, but I’m not sure if they have a limit on where they will cater — ask them! Five stars for Table 6 — a nice little slice of keeps Portland wonderful for this native Portlander AND regular customer!

So delicious! Everything is made in-house with fresh ingredients. Menu varies. Had the clam chowder & deluxe salad with bacon, avocado, nuts — delicious! You do more of your own table-waiting: get your own silverware, water, but as long as you are ok with the casual atmosphere, it’s fabulous!

What an adorable little place! Came for lunch with a friend, had the eggplant parm… TO. DIE. FOR. Also had broccoli cheese soup, which is one of my favorites, but ALWAYS too salty when ordered out. It was NOT too salty! I could taste the broccoli, and the fresh chives and cheddar it was garnished with. I noticed that it seems to be a popular choice for the people who work in the office building it’s connected to, and that they all took dishes and flatware with them(I assume they bring it back), and I thought what a great idea to cut down on waste! They also offered those customers tinfoil to put over their food since it was raining out, and I heard one staff member tell a lady to bring her tinfoil back with her dishes, and he’d make sure to recycle it. The staff was super friendly and knowledgable about the menu. In summary, this place just really gave me a great overall feeling. I will definitely be back!

Great service and cute little space, however coffee enthusiasts beware. At a little over an hour and half open their cold brew isn’t ready and the only other cup of joe they offer is, well, a regular cup of joe(which is ok at best). No espresso drinks here. Breakfast is limited to 2 options, but I smell they use fresh bacon, so that’s a good sign. Ordered the breakfast burrito which is made from scratch. Otherwise for lunch, they have a ton of options. Apparently they have other options for breakfast but just not anywhere visibly as many folks are ordering breakfast sandwiches. Also no paper menus handy. A+ for service and ambience. The breakfast burrito was not all that good. Hot lettuce is never tastey. Especially not in the morning. It was like taco bell.

Overall: Great restaurant and location(if you’re here for the convention center, particularly). Just returned from a conference and it was fantastic!). Wonderful food — all with flavor(whoda thunk it!?). Food: My wife LOVED her greek plate(I don’t recall all that it had — spanakopita, olives(I think), hummus & carrots/celery, some meat — and maybe more!). As always, I walked in and wanted a little of this and that and all of the options. Settled on pulled pork(I’m a southern boy at heart). Very good, slightly dry — but very good. The owner(I believe), or chef perhaps, spent some time talking with us about where they get their food(not locals, so we just smiled and nodded. Really good amount of food, particularly inexpensive and delicious(and healthy, too! Delicious, cheap, healthy, and mostly local — sounds like Portland to me! Definitely would go back — and you should stop in, too!(Not far from the Convention Center Bus Line — couple of blocks over.) Notes: You should clear your tables at the end, there are stations around. Awesome place for some respite in the midst of metal and noises. There’s even a back patio for people to utilize. You could use this place for a staff lunch/retreat(shorter, though) or a group outing for lunch(perhaps). It’s like you’ve entered a meditation center that feeds your soul and stomach. Some of the answers below could be wrong — but as far as I can recall, these are all correct(re: parking, etc.). Great work!

Delicious sandwiches! Comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. This was a great find after a long morning at the convention center.
