So all I can say is «man can one of those brothers from Mississippi or an Alabama slammer come open a BBQ spot», because honestly I am just convinced no one in the great northwest has the pit skills, besides Keith Davies and he is from Alabama and he works for the railroad! Definition of pit skills” someone that can BBQ with coal and wood, not the Treger~! Anyway, now when I walk up and tell you I am going to review your food and tell you my grandmother is from Georgia(so my southern food game is on point) Please just be honest with me and say«Lady this spot might not be for you. I would rather you be upfront and honest than take my money. I ordered the rib dry plate, Ribs where not done enough(requested sauce on the side) and you know they were smothered in it when I opened the box.1st disappointment, 2nd would be potato salad taste like Resers from the tub. I wanted my taste buds to be «WOWED» and that was not the case what so ever. The greens were not cooked with a turnip in them I can tell by the flavor and the baked beans, well lets just say they don’t know what the bottle of black strap molasses looks like by the taste of them. Real good baked beans have a very dark look to them from simmering in the oven for hours in all the brown sugar juices and MOLASSES! The customer service was great and that is why I gave 2 stars but they have got bring up their overall food game or they will not survive on Alberta st! Smh… so not the business people!

Amazing wings – 3 full wings for $ 2 on Wednesdays. Since it was my first visit, they gave me a free side of collard greens and corn bread. All of it was great, but the barbecue was the main attraction – smoky, sweet with a pleasant kick of heat. This is the sauce I’ve been searching for. The wings were wonderful quality and perfectly cooked and bathed in sauce. My only regret is that I just discovered this gem, and they’re moving to Alberta and 15th in two weeks, enough off my path to be problematic. Still, I have two weeks to sample ribs, chicken, and more collard greens.

Yes, as good as it gets– for the price, speed, and taste. This 5 star review comes after 4 visits– all of them different experiences, all of them positive. The greens and the beans– worth a visit for these two items alone. If you’re a fan of the pork rib, get in line. They serve a good plate of vittles.

The greens were very tasty. Canned Soda for 1 $ however their version of a rib sandwich is literally two ribs and one piece of bread. Overall good for a street stand.

Not sure what they are doing in there… It taking a real long time and I am the only one here. Tried the rib sandwich and BBQ beans. Don’t bother… High price and low quality. Was hoping to find something awesome, but this is not it :(

Best ribs i’v had in portland. I have been coming just about every friday since December. Now that I work on the 205 side of town I willingly add another hour to my commute just to get down on some ribs after work. b.b.q chicken wings are also amazing.

Took them 5 minutes to greet me, then when she did she was on her cell phone talking to her boyfriend. Food was cold and not all that great. Waste of 9 bucks

I don’t care who you are, where you come from, or who your mama is, THISISTHEBEST F*INGBBQCHICKENYOU’LLEVEREAT. Ever. And if you disagree with me, I’ll personally go there and buy your next order, and then I’ll eat it for you. This place is no joke. I ordered the chicken wings and a side of collard greens, total came out to an extremely affordable $ 6. I sit down to eat it, and low and behold, not only are there chicken wings and greens, but there is a generous portion of cornbread, several wetnaps, toothpicks, and napkins. The chicken literally FALLSOFF the bone– I’d go to pick up a wing, and by the time it got to my mouth, half the meat would have fallen off back onto the slice of bread used to soak up all the sauce because it’s JUSTTHATTENDERJUICY. Sauce, A+. Cornbread, A. Chicken, A+, Collard Greens, A+. I am definitely coming back to this place. A lot. I was sitting there licking sauce off my fingers like i was a 6yr old. Oh, and did I mention they have a catering menu? That includes cake and rack of ribs and corn on the cob? …Yep. Woman working there today was very friendly and had quick service. If you’re one of those people who has to count calories or get picky about portions, then go home and have a rice cake and ice water for lunch. Everyone else, COMETOSWEETSTREET.

Unassuming lil’ pipsqueak cart, tucked in the lot adjoining N. Lombard and N. MLK jr. Blvd… Love their ribs and home-made sauce! Po’ boys are just too«rich» !!! This cart seems to have decidedly scaled back hours o’ operation in the winter. There used to be several other carts in this lot, now only«Philly’s Best»(but Portland’s 9th or 10th best, by my reckoning ;p) remains along w/Sweet Street. Gotta say, I’m a little bit emotionally invested in the long-term success of this cart, I just love the name just like the food. The folks are super nice as well, and the scenic route getting hither and yon is more than justified when you’re able to pick up these folks’ succulent meats(keep the plentiful, tangy sauce on the side, in cups, for me!) and the corn bread. MMMM! Sweet street indeed!
