Stumptown DJs was an absolute pleasure to work with! DJ Casey was so great and hardly needed any prompting from us. He knew exactly what to do! Our school will absolutely be using Stumptown DJs in the future.

Stumptown DJ’d our wedding last summer and were amazing every step of the way. They were such pros, and had 2 calls with us ahead of time to make sure everyone was on the same page. The day of the wedding we had DJ Casey, who arrived early, and was so nice, responsive to our needs, and most of all, a great DJ! Stumptown allows you to pick a lot of your music, but Casey made sure everything he played outside of our lists was A+ and kept the vibe up. Multiple people complimented us on our music both during and after the wedding. In fact, months later, when my sister-​in-​law was planning for her wedding, she loved our music so much she asked if she could have our playlists. There was no way, I thought, that Stumptown would have saved them, but sure enough, Casey emailed everything to me right away! I would highly recommend Stumptown and Casey because they’re not only total pros, they’re thoughtful, attentive, and most of all, awesome DJs!

Matt (owner), Samir, and the folks at Stumptown DJs are top notch! We used DJ Samir for our Halloween party and could not have been happier. If you are looking for someone calm, cool, organized, great at reading your crowd, and super easy to work with, Samir is your guy. He received loads of compliments from my guests about his music choices and great personality.
Matt was very responsive, professional and had great ideas for me. And most importantly, I felt 100% secure when booking with Matt, that Stumptown would show up and deliver as promised. Choosing a quality DJ service was a top priority for our wedding. From the very start, Matt and his team made us feel comfortable and taken care of. I had a lot of music suggestions (we wanted an all-​oldies playlist), and not only did they accommodate, but they also had a lot of recommendations as to how to make our evening the best it could be. DJ Drew DJ’d our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with everything he did for us. He knew the music, blended it all really well, and was eager to help out in any way we needed. Andrew DJ’our wedding. He was great to work with! Our playlist was mostly 80s and 90s music, and he added a few current tracks to get the audience dancing. He was very patient and friendly, and gave us some great feedback based on the playlist we created using Stumptown’s database. Stumptown is very professional. I really trusted them after our meeting and speaking with both Matt and Drew over the phone. The day went by without a hitch and everyone was really happy! I highly recommend Stumptown if you want to have a great event without stress or worry!

DJ Jai did a wonderful job at our wedding, and everyone at Stumptown DJs was very helpful and responsive at every step of the process. We found out at the last minute that one of our dear friends could not attend the wedding due to a serious illness, and Jai helped us do a musical video tribute to her that really lifted her spirits. Just a great group of people.

Wedding was 09÷12÷15. Great service– DJ Drew was awesome! Very personable and interactive at our wedding. Matt, the owner was great– professional and detail oriented. In addition, Stumptown worked well with the other vendors– coordinated with photographer and reception venue. I would highly recommend Stumptown DJ.

Stumptown DJs recently performed our wedding and reception and I would highly recommend them! DJ Andrew was incredibly professional and did an amazing job. Stumptown DJs worked with us to make our wedding unique and also fun our guests. Everyone had such a great time and many guests complimented both the ceremony as well as the dinner and reception music played. The planning leading up to the wedding was easy and Stumptown DJs had so many great suggestions for us in order to make our special day flow perfectly. Having DJ Andrew do our wedding/​reception really made everything a lot easier on us the day of the wedding and more enjoyable for our guests. I highly recommend Stumptown DJs!

We worked with Stumptown DJs and DJ Drew for our wedding in the Portland area. Being from out of town, it was important to get a responsive DJ that was easy to communicate with. We booked Stumptown DJs about 4 weeks ahead of our big day. They made the rest easy for us. From online invoice payments, online song selections and responsive administrative staff, they were on point from the get go. They were one of our most professional and tech-​savvy vendors we used for our whole wedding.
When it came to our big day, DJ Drew utilized the songs we flagged (they ask customers to flag songs they like out of their huge song database to learn what type of music you are looking for) and made a great playlist around them. DJ Drew filled in the holes from where our wedding coordinator fell short, and made our whole event run like clockwork. He was easy to get along with and very professional. Every staff I communicated with was always responsive and respectful. Some companies just go above and beyond making you feel comfortable and they do a great job — this is one of them.
I would definitely recommend this company for someone needing a DJ in the Portland area.

Matt and the Stumptown DJ organization were incredibly helpful for our wedding. The time he took to do a pre-​wedding phone call brought some things to my attention that I would never have considered if he hadn’t very specifically gone over every detail. On the actual day of the wedding we had rain — but he was so flexible and nice about me waiting until the last minute to move our ceremony indoors. The reception was awesome and the dance floor was packed the entire time. I would recommend Matt and Stumptown to anyone looking for a DJ (wedding or otherwise) in the Oregon area.

We went with Stumptown DJs again for our house party last Saturday. We had DJ Jai who was extremely down to earth, friendly, and dedicated to making our party music a blast. He is awesome — our guests loved him — as did our bartender :) he played an amazing variety of music and always had our guests entertained. he was very responsive before the event and checked in a couple times to make sure everything was on the right track. We loved working with him and recommend DJ Jai and Stumptown highly!

Stumptown DJ’d our wedding at Ecotrust and they were great. Working with Matt, the owner, really helped us solidify our timeline and put us at ease about the event running smoothly. Guests kept raving about how great the music was.
We would point out that, when selecting a DJ, sometimes experience matters… we went with a less-​experienced DJ, who overall did a good job, but there were a few minor hiccups that left us thinking we should have spent the extra money for someone more experienced.
One quibble would be the music database, a website you use to select your playlist. It’s somewhat clunky and there’s no option to suggest songs that aren’t on the database.
But overall, these folks are pros and we’re so happy with the jams at our wedding!

Katie Heath was amazing!!! She did an incredible job from the ceremony to the reception. We had so many compliments on her and the variety of music she played. She was able to put heart to classic, country and pop. What an amazing DJ.
Katie also jumped in to keep things moving and ensure that everything went off according to the plan — seating, toasts, dances, food.
As the parents of the bride it was wonderful to know she had everything planned out and covered. THANK YOU!!!

These guys are studs. We hired them to handle our wedding, and everything went so smoothly that we were genuinely able to sit back and relax on the big day. Matt handled everything on the front end — clarifying the timeline of the event, explaining our options, giving his advice based on prior weddings. Super organized, super generous with his time.
DJ Katie then called us a few days before the wedding to go over our playlist. (Stumptown creates a personalized playlist on Google Play and encourages you to add songs in various categories: ceremony, cocktails, dinner, reception.) She was an absolute rockstar, both as a DJ and perhaps more importantly, as an MC. She explained what she would be doing minute by minute, she made important changes on the fly, she even tracked down groomsmen and bridesmaids so we could get toasts started on time. She stuck to our playlist for the most part, and the songs she added fit in perfectly. And she did it all with a smile on her face and a lot of confidence.
All of it made for a really fun wedding. Would highly recommend these guys.

My hubby and I just recently got married at McMemamins Edgefield and Mr. DJ Denis was our DJ for the evening. We were super impressed on what an amazing job he did! He kept the party going all night long! The music selection he played kept everyone on their feet! When people leave a wedding and you hear that their feet hurt (bride and groom included), you know you had awesome music to dance too! I would recommend Stumptown DJ to everyone I know. Both Denis and Matt (Stumptown DJ founder) were extremely helpful during this whole process. Thank you again for such amazing service!

We hired Katie as our DJ and she was great. I was really impressed by all of the planning and preparation that Matt and Katie put into our wedding reception that was held at the Sentinel Hotel.
It was such a fun night, the sound was perfect and all the details went smoothly. Because of all the work on the front end barely anything was needed day of so we could just enjoy it all. My friends danced all night and it could not have gone better.

Stumptown DJs is the only DJ service you should consider when planning your event. We used them for our Wedding in August at the McMenamins Grand Lodge. What I loved about them was how organized they are. Matt is great at responding to questions and getting the client the timeline and information quickly. He then sets up about an hour to go through the timeline with you. I really appreciated this time, because he had some suggestions on time of events based of their experience with the many weddings they do.
Denis was our DJ for the day. He was great to work with — showed up early, had everything set up, and was prepared. The way they work is they’ll give you access to their Google Play account full of music and have you create some playlists based off your preferences. Better to give a little more music for your timeframe so they have enough to work off of (but don’t be dumb and give 8 hours of music for a 2 hour event).
Out of their 5 DJs, Denis has the most experience and has a little bit of a premium if you go with him. I think my only criticism of Stumptown is that if you do a wedding that goes for 8 hours, you have to pay the hourly rate for the whole time for Denis. It was worth it once we started getting the party atmosphere going and not having to worry about the music myself. Stumptown is definitely worth the investment and will provide you a great party.

I am so happy I went with Stumptown DJs! I met Matt at a bridal expo and he seemed like such a good guy. I was really impressed with how organized he was — he had an extensive pre-​wedding survey to fill-​out and also a timeline which not only showed me he cared about creating a phenomenal experience for my wedding, but it also helped me organize myself as well. Even more than that, what sold me is access to a music database. I was able to create playlists for different parts of the wedding beforehand, which was not only fun but helped ease my mind that only the music I wanted to hear would be played. I didn’t want any of the stereotypical wedding music and the database had every song I wanted, even some remixes that are hard to find.
We ended up picking DJ Katie for our wedding and she was outstanding — great timing, sweet and fun personality and she clearly understood our taste in music. There were some songs I forgot to add to the playlist, but she was clearly able to figure out our taste and added in other great songs. Our guests had an amazing time on the dance floor and even 6 months later still talk about what a great time it was. There were no awkward moments (which I was worried about) and everyone let loose! So many incredible memories, thanks to DJ Katie and Stumptown DJs.

My husband and I wanted a wedding DJ that wasn’t the least bit cheesy and knew his 80s tunes. Matt of Stumptown DJs was the first DJ we met with and we knew right away that he was the man for the job. He was knowledgeable about the kind of music we wanted and super friendly. He assured us that he could create the vibe we wanted for our reception and that he would definitely NOT play the chicken dance. We were sold!
We really enjoyed being able to create our own playlists using Stumptown’s online database. Our choices gave Matt a really good idea of what we wanted so he was able to throw in a few surprise tunes, too. All of our interactions with him leading up to the wedding were great. He was very professional and friendly and made sure he had all the info he needed to do a great job for us. He even gave us some excellent wedding advice that helped us really enjoy the day!
Matt seriously nailed it on wedding day! The music was everything we had hoped for and more. He was professional, friendly with the guests and just plain fun to have there. In fact, one of my very favorite memories of our wedding happened because Matt was so on top of it that night. Towards the end of the evening things were winding down and my husband and I were the only two people on the dance floor. Matt noticed and surprised us by playing the song I walked down the aisle to. Thanks to him we got to end our night with a beautiful moment alone, slow dancing to a very special song. I’ll never forget it. Thank you Matt!
