I called Stanley Steemer and scheduled them to clean one bedroom, my living room, and a hallway. I have used them before and had decent service. This last time I used them was terrible! I am not sure if my service came through the sw or né office. I had a dog and wanted to clean the rugs of the place I had been renting because I was moving out. My roommate was there when they cleaned. My landlord yelled at me afterwards saying that the rugs were filthy. I went back and looked at them, and it looked like Stanley had not even come. I rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned them myself afterwards and my landlord was right– they were still pretty dirty. When I called to complain to get my money back, I was told I would get a return call in 24 hours. I got one 3 days later, and a manager left me a message. I called him back and left a message. I have yet to hear anything, and this was over a week ago. I am beyond pissed. If you are going to shell out the money to get your carpets cleaned (I paid $ 150) contact a local cleaner or do it yourself because these guys aren’t reliable.

We had Stanley Steemer clean carpet in a small home that we are putting on the market to sell. We’re pretty sure that whoever buys this house will want to update and replace the carpeting, but it seemed like a smart move to have the place smelling great for when it gets listed. We’ve had them clean this same carpet before and it always comes out fine. The two men explained that deodorant was a good idea (for an additional charge). We agreed to go ahead. One emphasized that we should close the place up for one day when they were finished, so that the deodorant would have a maximum effect.
We did exactly as told, but when we came back (one day later) and walked in the door the odor was terrible! All at once it seemed as if we would have been better off to have done nothing than to create this new bad stench for ourselves (and having paid extra for it too). Without exaggeration, it smelled like barf all over the house. What kind of nightmare is this?! How do you show a house that smells like upchuck in every room? I got on the phone immediately to Stanley Steemer and the woman said, «Do you have some sort of fan or air ventilation on the carpet»? —Well, gosh, NO, because the young man told us to close up the place and he never mentioned anything about fans. The lady expressed concern and explained that they couldn’t send someone out for a few days, but that they would do everything over again.
They did send out someone who re-​deodorized everything again and we put fans on it and everything is GREAT. It smells fine now… just in time for going on the market. I wanted to write all this out in case anyone else orders the deodorant. Geez, don’t shut the place up without fans! The 2^nd man told my husband (I wasn’t there for the re-​do) that they often tell people to shut doors and windows to let the deodorant «take hold». Well, that advise had disastrous results for us and they should re-​think it. I have no idea why a newly deodorized carpet could or would smell so horrible, but all I know is that now all is well and I am very grateful that they promptly fixed the situation. I’m glad I didn’t have to argue with anyone over it. They handled it well and I will definitely use them again.

I called Monday on 6÷29÷15. I was able to get on the schedule within a few days, on the date I was hoping for. The customer service person on the phone was professional. I had a pretty large job at $ 1658.50 with a 10% discount to a new total of $ 1535.93. The two gentlemen that arrived on time was William Spadt and Mustafa Davis, they showed up with a positive attitude, well dressed and extremely well mannered. With my order predetermined order, I still continued to add more services and William and Davis showed eagerness to perform the duties, instead of showing signs of the additional scope to be a burden. The job was done exceptionally well and in a very speediest amount of time for the volume of my order. They were extremely cautious with the home, they also where very courteous to my elderly mother as they worked around her and they were extremely efficient.

I feel pretty «eh» about the service. The carpet looks cleaner, but after taking a closer look, there were a lot of stains that they didn’t get and there was a kitten-​accident smell/​stain that they didn’t get even though I specifically pointed it out to them. I ended up combatting that stain with a bottle of Nature’s Miracle cleaner.
I received a call about 20 minutes before the crew was scheduled to arrive saying they’d been displayed. 45 minutes later, the two-​man-​crew showed up. The guys were nice enough, but one of the guys actually worked, the other stood around watching most of the time… he was even texting at times. Pretty unprofessional.
$ 99 for my one family room that is around 300sqft. We had moved EVERYTHING out of the room with hopes to get the cleanest end result.
They used my water spigot to hookup their equipment and our toilet to dispose of the dirty water — not a huge deal, just not what I expected…
All in all, the carpets are clean, but I think I’ll try another company when it’s time to get the carpets cleaned in a few months simply because, for the price, there was zero «wow» factor.

The service you get is far from what you would expect. I signed up for the 1 year plan that allows you to get 3 cleanings during that time. Each time they came they used high pressure sales to get you to get added services. I thought I was going to have throw one of the out of the house, he just did not want to take no for an answer and it resulted in an argument. The last time they came was today and the same tactics were used. Because we had enough of these tactics and would not agree to another year they did a rush job on the carpet leaving some areas that needed more attention.
We were supposed to choose any 3 rooms, but they wanted to clean where they cleaned the last time and would not let us change areas. Take a close look at these reviews and tell yourself if you would write some of the glowing things they are writing. I think the only good reviews are written by the employees.

Techs were nice enough, and I suppose our carpets are a bit cleaner, but a lot of spots we assumed would be removed are still there. Ended up buying a $ 3 can of carpet cleaner to get the job done.
We’ll be trying someone else next time.

I have used this company for a few years now with a service contract. The quality of service has steadily decreased while the prices continued to increase. I did not renew the service contract this time and will not be using them again. I will look for deals on amazon local, etc. before using Stanley Steemer again.

Crooks. I called them to have them come and clean my elderly father’s LIVING ROOM AND HALLWAY CARPET. I was at work, but dad was there and wrote them a check.
They scammed him for $ 996. They talked him into a maintenance contract for $ 360 talked him into cleaning his old couch with deodorizing and scotch guarding for $ 374. I was furious. I tried to call but all you get is an answsering service. The actual person\office’s voicemail is full so you can’t leave a message at the Airport Way office. I ended up writing letters, sent a copy to them as well as the corporate office. The General Mgr called, he had the nerve to argue with me and told me to contact the manager. I left two messages and have yet to hear back and know I won’t.

Toxic spill of pot roast, veggies and gravy all over living room! In 20 minutes they cleaned and protected the carpet. Surpised they weren’t wearing booties, but I didn’t see any traces of their shoes. Thanks, Guys!

What a lousy job. Carpet was soaked for 3 days. Hubby went to use our shampooer over it a few days later and the water was black like it had never been cleaned. With all the extras we got talked into was $ 216 and that was with the $ 99 sale. We had them do only 2 rooms, 4 steps and a hallway. They were on time for appointment but that was the most positive thing I can say about them.

Ordered the $ 99 special and got more than I bargained for.
Crew came within time, within a short notice. Upon arrival, they introduced themselves, and shook my hand.
They were polite, cordial and respectful.
They asked all qualifying questions: can we use your water, may we discard dirty water using the inside toilet if we cannot find what we need for the outdoors? and so on.
They moved the living room furniture, knickknacks, area rugs, and placed them accordingly.
They removed carpet stains, vacuumed, raked the carpet, and lifted the furniture with foam particles to ensure carpet drying.
The two gentlemen were named Almir and Tan, and they did a great job. They worked as a team. No slacking. And when I offered to tip, they refused.
Very good, I’m very pleased.
I know good work when I see it.

I went online and scheduled Stanley Steemer to come out and clean the tile in my bathrooms. The people showed up and were friendly, a bit too friendly calling me «Sweetie» several times which is not professional at all. I showed them the bathrooms, including the shower and tub surround in the master bath and they went to work. Not more than 30 minutes later they were completely done with the van packed up so I went to check their work only to find they only cleaned the floors. When I questioned why the shower and tub surround were not done they said the price was for the floor only. NO WHERE does it state that the «Tile cleaning» of a «Bathroom» is only the floor, no where did it say that showers/​tub surrounds are not included in the price, no where does it state showers/​tub surrounds are more money and they did not say a word to me about it when I showed them the bathrooms. I pointed this out and he gave me some line about how it is so much work to do the steam cleaning. I was not happy at all so he called his supervisor and then told me that there was nothing they could do, it was only the floors. If I wanted them to do the shower and tub surround they would have to charge me «A lot more» since it is vertical cleaning instead of flat floor. I paid them $ 4 short of having another full «bathroom» cleaning done as a minimum charge fee because I only had 2 bathrooms to clean but they could not even do the flat part of the tub surround or the flat shower floor.
To top it off after the floors were fully dried I went in to really check them out and there is no sign they have been professionally cleaned. A good mopping would have done the same job they did.
I will NEVER use Stanley Steemer again.

Our tile counters and floors were in bad shape with ground-​in grime. Stanley Steemer 2-​man crew came out, worked hard, were polite and professional, and the floors and counters look terrific. We are very pleased indeed!

The staff was very friendly but didn’t pay any attention to detail. They left my wood and fabric dining room chairs out on the back patio (NOT under the awning– why? I don’t know!!!) and then it rained! I left before I double checked everything. They moved all my furnature out of the way and it was all placed in the middle of the room so I couldn’t tell what was where but I had to leave so I left. About 20 minutes later it started pouring rain so I called to make sure someone will move my furniture back under the awning since I didn’t remember seeing it before I left. They told me not to worry, they would send someone back to my house to move my chairs for me.
Well I got home 10 hours later (middle of the night) only to find my chairs had NOT been moved, so they were drenched! AND I found my area rug rolled up and plopped into a pile of chicken poop (we have 2 hens in our yard) and it too was sopping wet! I was livid so I called to complain as soon as I found it. The rep was sorry and said a manager would return my call within 72 hours. Wow! What a wait to get a return call for their ding-​dong employees ruining my dining room set and area rug!
Monday came around and I heard nothing so I called back. The rep told me my complaint was already in so the managers would get back to me within 24 hours. I’m still waiting. If I don’t hear back by tomorrow with confirmation that they will replace my area rug (I don’t want it cleaned the rubber backing was full of poop– it was only 4 months old and like new!) and clean my dining room set at no charge, I will dispute with American Express and I will not pay for these services.
In regards to the actual service, the floor came out pretty good for the most part, but my cat smeared some hairball paste on the floor and it dried in place. The floor cleaning didn’t actually clean that spot so I had to go and scrub it with a kitchen scrubber.
I usually use Bona to clean my wood floors. The guy said not to use it because it leaves a film. I’m sorry, but the only film I recognized was after they cleaned the wood, it has been sticky ever since. It has been 58 hours since the cleaning. Still sticky and filmy.
I will not use Stanley Steemers ever again. I only used them because I was allowed to combine a gift certificate and a coupon for $ 85 off my service. Now it turns out I had to pay $ 70 for a new rug and who knows what they will do about my ruined dining chairs…
I’ll update tomorrow with the response of the managers.
