Crazy awesome selection, prices are expensive but typical for fun socks ($ 9 for one pair of crew). Knocking a star off because the employees reeked of cigarette smoke, which grossed me out. But it’s portland, what can ya do. Guess I’ll just shop online next time.

I love this shop so much!!! I absolutely love their cotton slouch socks, they come in so many colors! And they fit legs that aren’t stick thin… Harder and harder to find these days. They have a good selection of plus sized stuff, and if you shop their store online they ship for free! Since they’re local it really only takes like a day and a half to get your order. The online shop is very detailed fit wise, so if you are a more average or plus size, they go into great detail as to what the max stretch of pretty much every item is. Super helpful! They also make a note of when a particular color of a certain item might not fit the same as the other colors, so that greatly reduces those kind of unpleasant surprises.
The selection of fun quirky socks and leg wear is the best I’ve found, they run good sales a few times a year (20% off site wide!), if you sign up for their newsletter you’ll never miss one. And they’re a local small business!!! How can you go wrong?! They don’t just have socks either, they have tons of leg and arm warmers, leggings, tights, they even have frilly rhumba panties… Seriously… They’re so great! These aren’t cheap Kmart socks, so don’t expect cheap Kmart sock prices… I think all or most of what they sell is reasonably and fairly priced. And if you stock up during a sale, you’ll get a really good deal.

I came for a visit during a visit to Portland and even though it was wildly out of our way (especially considering we did not have a car) we decided to come by Sock Dreams on our last day. The outside was promising despite the rain — cute and quaint!
The variety and selection here is tremendous! There are crew socks, ankle socks, knee socks, over the knee socks, opaque and semi-​opaque tights, fishnets, and don’t even get started on the fandoms, colors, and materials.
The layout takes a little getting used to (it’s a bit chaotic and the shelving is close together, so it can feel very crowded) but the ladies who work here are super helpful and can answer any questions you have about sizing, elasticity, and fit.
Pricing is what you would expect in line with exotic and niche socks, but quite a bit of what’s available is also sturdy and wears well. Sometimes it’s worth it to invest in a nice pair of tights.
Can’t comment on the parking situation, but it was an easy walk here from the bus stop and there were a lot of other cute shops nearby.

One of my favorite shops in Portland. Huge selection of unique socks in a cute house. They carry Blue Q socks which are my favorite brand of sock sass.

So okay, one star for their ability to pick up the phone when it rings. I just spent an exhausting & frustrating hour attempting to buy an e-​gift card from the Sock Dreams website, and finally giving up when the number of snafus and obstacles connected with this venture mounted up. I have always enjoyed Sock Dreams’ ads that come to me via Facebook, and promised myself that I would buy from them, and outfit my friends as well. This «dream» failed dismally today in the wake of botched and clueless customer service – with all the ladies sounding like they were talking on cellphones that should have been retired a long time ago. Very bad connections adding to the problem.
At first, «Sabrina» told me that I would have to go online and put the order in myself. After I attempted that – filling in the form and clicking on the Pay Pal button which then took me to a blank page that read «Failed” – I called her back and she said she could take the order herself and «waive the $ 5 service fee.» That would be great except I’d have to read to her the rather long birthday wishes I had written. So I went back to try, try again.
My second attempt led me to my own Pay Pal account, but returned me to the order site to face a confusing Shopping Cart page that gave 2 places to click «Confirm Order.» Why two?
The 2^nd rep I spoke with seemed rather clueless (she did not seem to be looking at a computer while we spoke and did not understand), so I asked to speak with her supervisor. The supervisor, Corey, got on, said her name and the call was dropped.
I had to call back. Corey answered. Although she was sharper than the previous two, she advised me to «just click on one of the confirmation icons» although she kept saying «It’s been a long time since I’ve looked at the order page.» Say WHAT?
I see now that they have a brick and mortar shop. So that explains the weirdness. My best guess is that this is not the same as ordering from a major corporation with trained staffers and IT folks who can quickly and accurately answer questions.
The whole thing scared me. Would I end up being charged twice? I bailed. Then I noticed that Pay Pal had sent me a notice that my «account has been changed» and I had to call PP to revert it back to normal.
Whew! A quick look at Amazon’s ladies’ socks screamed «This will be good too!» and I was done with sending my friend her Amazon gift e-​card in less than 5 minutes.
Never again. I will warn my friends on FB to beware also.

As a lover of all things that cover one’s feet, you better believe I was familiar with Sock Dreams and their online store. When I found out they had a brick-​and-​mortar in Portland, I begged my husband to come with me so I could immerse myself in sock shangri-​la.
The Pacific Northwest has seen several days hitting above-​average heat levels, but we were lucky enough to be able to visit when the heat broke a bit. However, you wouldn’t even know it because Sock Dreams was blazing hot. There was a small air conditioner by the cash register (rightfully so, their employees’ comfort is important) but the rest of the small room felt like a sauna. I expected to see a bunch of old dudes in towels schvitzing around the corner.
Their selection was pretty great, but nothing I couldn’t have gotten online. There was no tax (AWESOME!) and I got a free sticker to take home. There’s a chance you can find the socks online for cheaper (my husband picked up a pair of Spock socks while we were there, which we then found for $ 8 less at Gamestop a few weeks later), so if you can do your research to find a better price, I wholeheartedly encourage it.

Note: If I didn’t live near Portland I would shop online.

The brick and mortar store is so small and crammed with socks that I always end up tip-​toeing around gingerly while politely excusing myself to fellow shoppers. But true to its name there are all sorts of socks. More socks of various sizes, shapes, fabrics, and styles than you can shake a stick at. It beats out any major retailer in the sock experience so I suggest showing up to fill your drawers, but leave any giant bags at home. The downside is that they generally don’t carry a woman’s 11 or larger.

What can get better than a store full of socks? socks that you can’t see with sperry’s but are REALLY cute when you take your shoes off.

This store is very cool. There are a bunch of socks of all sizes. They even have little kids’ socks. But there are little kids’ socks and then there are women’s or men’s socks. Nothing in between.
There are a bunch of different brands and types. There are a whole lot of cool patterns.
It is nice and cozy and clean. The staff is friendly.
I would definitely come back here/​order online.

Visiting from out of town and this was on my list of places to see. Totally worth it! Found anything and everything we were looking for: music/​piano socks, dinosaur socks, and cat socks to name a few. Loved my stop here. My boyfriend who was originally unenthusiastic about coming to a «sock store» bought two pairs also. I’ll be recommending this place and shopping online! Also, I liked the neighborhood this was located in lots of places to stop or have a snack.

My mom was a NYC girl down to her toes.
Sometime during WW2, she was swept off her feet by my dad and ended up in Podunk, Wa. The things we do for love. Just think ‘Green Acres’ with loggers.
She never lost her big– city pizazz but she was usually a bit subtle about it.
She was buying socks like this back in the ’ 70s but you’d never know unless she took off her shoes.
I have no idea if she ever shopped here. Probably not; too far from the tall buildings.
My daughter, who bears my mother’s name also rolls with the unique sock options.

Granted, Sock Dreams isn’t the answer to all your problems, but they sure are the answer to any foot-​covering problems you have. Male or female, it is well worth your time to investigate them.
Don’t blame me if you come out with several pairs of socks as a result.

I love this store. I usually go there but I just ordered some socks in-​line and I received them immediately. I have tree trunks for legs –long inseam and large calves and thighs and their over-​the-​knee socks are awesome, especially if you don’t like to wear tights. They give you good information on the on-​line descriptions. They also have socks for men and kids.

As a guy who wears socks but doesn’t typically shop for them on a regular basis, I always kinda thought of them as the sort of gift that you get from your Grandma with $ 5 stashed inside.
Then my girlfriend asked for them for Xmas.
She was kind enough to let me know that a tube of them from Costco was not what she was looking for and sent me here.
While Sock Dreams is a small unassuming location from the outside, inside it’s a veritable citadel of socks. Knowing that I was not going to be navigating the citadel of socks solo, I turned to one of the folks who worked there (whose name was Rose) and begged for guidance.
Thank God I did.
Everyone at Sock Dreams was incredibly nice and attentive (which considering the place was packed with holiday shoppers is no mean feat), but Rose gets a special shout out for not only helping me with:

While I honestly hadn’t known how cool socks could be previously, I’m now a believer (and sporting a fine pair of Tetris Socks myself)

I wonder when my outlook changed on socks? There was a time when getting socks was probably the worst thing ever. Then, something changed. Suddenly I was buying my own socks and delighting in the different styles available. What was once a boring must has become a treat.
This store is like a little cottage of awesome. Stepping in you become painfully aware that your sock collection is lacking and that in the world, possibly even near you, there are people who are rocking awesome socks that make yours look like burlap sacks.
A great place for a small gift or stocking stuffer. I had a hard time not walking out with a huge bag of silly snugly footwear. I especially dug the poultry and bear inspired socks. In the back they have a section where they keep the more spicy wear.
If you are in the area and want to be surprised just how cool socks have become check it out!

I ordered some socks online from this store — and they were from the Plus Size list — when I got them, the calf was stretchy and large enough (as was advertised on the website) but the ankle was smaller and was too tight.
Instead of returning them, I gave them to my daughter. But I did make a comment about it on their customer feedback page and suggested the add the ankle measurement to the website.
Within 24 hours, I got an email saying that they had made the changes to the website.
I am not at all unhappy with the store, as I think their selection and customer service is amazing. I will definitely shop here again and recommend it to my friends!

If you can’t find socks you like at Sock Dreams than the frank truth is that you don’t like socks.
I went in with a friend who adores socks not intending to buy any for myself. Spoiler Alert: that is not how the shopping trip ended.
Located in a delightful purple house adorn with lacy trim on a street with small local beverage shops it would be easy to think this was just some adorable Disney fanatics dwelling. But don’t be fooled by the cuteness this is not your momma’s sock shop, unless your mom plays derby… in which case it might be.
There are socks for everyone at this shop. Not only a variety of fun themed socks there are also options for your sock related needs. Boot socks for serious hiking — check. Tights for your halloween costume — check. Socks that have tiny garden gnomes on them for when your planting azaleas — also check.
But that is not all, Sock Dreams also has some other hand curated stuff like say velvety green fingerless gloves with gold highlights.
Really it’s easy if you want to experience serious sock variety — go there. If not, well it might be fun to check it out anyway.

This is what dreams are made of… hundreds of socks in multiple designs, styles, genres and brands. If you can think it, they have it. This medium store is full of socks. They even have 3D socks. I am obsessed with socks! The ladies at the store were super sweet and nice. I have a few sock related quirks. The main quirk is that I wear two socks at once even in summer. Coming here was a surprise set up by the guy I am dating since he knows I am obsessed with fun socks. I spent way too much time than one really should and walked out with $ 50 worth of awesome socks. I bought:

Leg warmers (oh yeah bitches the 80’s are back)

I only have two words to say when I walk into Sock Dreams:
OH. SHIT.

I’ve been in this store two or three times but last time was the first I purchased some socks. I got four pairs. I’d been wanting the Octopus socks and they had two pairs that I bought. I also got one pair with a monkey and bananas on it. And a regular pair of colorful striped socks. All of the socks I bought were made in Korea and ranged from $ 8 – 10. I’ll be back for the Gnome socks on my next trip to Portland. Excellent customer service: informative, friendly, and fun!
