I was drawn to Chinese Medicine during the four years I lived in China. I resonate with the Chinese need for balance on the mind, body and spirit levels, and was always amazed by what the doctors could tell me from my pulse alone.

I have a BA from Kenyon College in International Studies, an MA in Chinese Studies from Columbia University and an MA in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia www​.tai​.edu. I practiced in the Washington DC area until I moved to Portland in 2008, to start my life with my husband Brian.

In addition to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, I have also studied Aromatherapy, Reiki, Qigong and Zero Balancing, and often incorporate them in my acupuncture treatments.

My mission is to support clients in achieving a level of wellness that creates a greater sense of ease and vitality in their lives. I have personally witnessed the profound and transformative power of acupuncture treatments, and I am excited to offer this possibility to my clients.

Shannon is AWESOME. She is so nice and does excellent work. Very easy to talk to, and really does her best to work with you and figure out what’s going on and how she can help.
I have a huge fear of needles, but it was no big deal– she is very gentle and it did not hurt at all. Definitely give her a try if you are looking for acupuncture– you won’t regret it at all!

I’ve been receiving acupuncture for years but just recently met Shannon Conrad, and she is my new favorite gal! She is so smart and explains everything she’s doing so that you get educated and feel 100% comfortable with your treatment. After my first treatment my stomach issues were noticeably better and it’s amazing how relaxing acupuncture can be. I highly recommend trying Shannon out and have referred many of my own clients and friends to her.

I had never before really given acupuncture a try… until Shannon. It doesn’t matter how we met, the only important thing now is the magic spells she casts over me when I go to see her. All those fears of needles gone with the wind when I lie on her table (still not so sure about those sketchy nurses though)! She as gentle as an angel and more thorough than your OBGYN! If you haven’t tried it, try it with Shannon… and if you have, well, Shannon will knock your socks off.
And she’s sweet as cherry pie to boot. What more could you ask for?

Shannon is like the Fats Domino of Acupuncture: her needles never miss the mark. When I first began seeing her, I was hopeful she might be able to give me superpowers. I asked for invulnerability, x-​ray vision, and flight. No luck, unfortunately, but I believe her when she says that’s outside of the normal range of acupuncture outcomes. What she has given me is relief from day-​to-​day aches and pains, anxiety, and stress. So I feel like a superhero anyway.

Shannon has been my acupuncturist since 2007 and she rocks my socks. She is spot on with her diagnoses and always takes the time to really listen to me. She has a great sense of humor to boot. I highly recommend her for your needling, cupping, and Chinese herb needs.
