Worst Customer Service I’ve ever seen!
Scheduled an appointment 7 days out for our fridge that wasn’t working. Scheduled between 3 – 6 on a Tuesday. 7pm I called them (no contact from them) and they said I was being rescheduled for 10 – 2 the next day. Ok, tolerable. Next day, at 2pm I checked the online status and it said arrival time would be between 5:15 — 7:15. 8pm rolls around, no phone call, no nothing. So I called the service center. They told me the technician cancelled the appointment but they couldn’t tell me why or reschedule it. I had to call back in the morning. Frustrating, right? So I call back in the morning, day 3 of trying to get someone to look at the fridge. They said the technician cancelled the appointment because they wanted us off their route! WHAT!!! They said not to worry, they’d put us on the emergency schedule… which meant they could come out in … wait for it… 12 DAYS! I was furious at this point, their tech cancelled the appointment for no good reason and now I had to wait another 2 weeks. Ridiculous! They seemed genuinely surprised when I told them to forget it and I didn’t want the appointment.
I called another place and they came out the same day, had a lower call out fee and got it fixed same day. Check out the Appliance Guys instead.
We were thinking of getting a new fridge from Sears, but if this is how they treat their customers, I’ll never be shopping at Sears again.

These people annoy me to NO end. Both my Nephews are appliance repair guys as is my Brother, so I know a little about Appliances. My beloved fridge went out and I was forced to buy a new one, I was advised to buy the extended warranty as they are soo expensive to fix these days and parts can be quite costly.
I tend to shop at Sears for my appliances, so we found one I liked and went to Sears to purchase it. The Salesman was quite helpful and I got the extended warranty for about $ 350.00 extra, it included a one year check up and a break on the prices of filters.
Delivery went fine, the delivery guys carried in inside and it is a big Fridge. Fast forward to a year later, I am having issues with a drawer and one of my Nephews saw a «service alert» for my specific fridge and told me to have them replace a part.
I called them the first time about a month ago, to order a filter, then they transferred me to The Service Center, where I spoke to someone (gender unknown), who talks exactly like an automated service voice such as Siri or a generic voice mail. I could not understand him at ALL, I tried and finally hung up.
I waited a couple of weeks and tried to call them directly, the EXACT same person answered the phone, I attempted to communicate again and finally asked for his Supervisor who was not much better, seriously hard to understand. I asked where I was calling and they said they cannot say. Interesting. I finally was able to communicate what I wanted, however they can only address 1 issue per visit, so they can’t do my free yearly check up while they are here to fix my drawer, that equals one visit, one problem per visit. So this means I have to waste my time two more times (one for the check up and one for the other issue, service alert) l
The super nice Repair Guy came out and fixed my issue, and gave my fridge a once over while he was here. He was a straight up 5, the actual Service Department on the phone gets a 1 from me. I also found out my extended warranty does not really get my anything. If some thing big happens I have to have them out to verify and they Whirlpool fixes it.
Also Sears Repair is severely understaffed and the average wait for parts is 12 days?

DON’t EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SEARS AGAIN !!!
we bought three appliances from sears within the last year… all of them under warranty, all of them needing some repair… you call for service and one number transfers you to the other and that number says you need to talk to the first number… these people should no longer be in business. gotta get off now and write to dept of consumer affairs and the better business bureau. i suggest you folks do the same…

conduction stove…3 service calls, replaced 2 electronic boards, service person had no idea whats the problem, even after i bought a extended warranty, they could not figure out what is the problem. the service support recommended tech to replace the main board. with warranty they want to charge me $ 1000.00. no fix, no stove, no more sears!!!

I made an appointment over the internet to have my Kenmore dryer repaired. The website sent me a reminder, the repairman called before coming, and he fixed the problem with good cheer. All seemed fine.
When I discovered three machine bolts on the floor in front of my dryer I wanted to call the repairman and ask if they were important. I called various numbers, was transferred to service centers here and abroad, and eventually left a message to be called back (I wasn’t). Each time I spoke to someone they spent a great amount of time asking me questions about my phone number and address before saying they needed to transfer my inquiry.
This type of run-​around is so common with large corporations that it hardly warrants comment. I post this to remind myself and others that if I had gone with a self-​employed tradesman I would probably have direct access to his cell phone and my issue would have been quickly resolved.

Wow! They have actually called me. They are offering $ 20 off but no still idea when I will get it back!

My fiancé and I received a used whirlpool washer and dryer from my cousin and everything was working fine until one day the dryer stopped working. I had repaired our last dryer before and thought I would give it try this time. I found out the problem and what parts needed to be replaced.
Unfortunately the day I had our dryer pulled apart was a Sunday, my only day off. I called over a dozen places for parts and no one was open on Sunday. I got a referral from Kmart/​sears to try this shop.
Finally!
I called ahead, told them the part number that I needed and they had it.
This is the only parts place open on Sunday in the Portland metro area and if you are in a bind in sure they will have what your looking for.
The shop was nice. It was like an appliance outlet store, everything was on sale, great prices for basics like vacuums, lawnmowers, ect.
I would recommend this store to anyone who needs appliance parts in a pinch.

If I could give them no stars I would. I’ve been waiting a month for them to fix my cooktop. They sent out three people so far. The first person diagnosed the problem and ordered parts. 10days later the second person arrived and said that my electrical was not to code and messed with my power and refused to do the repair. We had an electrician in the same day and he said that the repair guy was clueless and had to fix the problem caused by the repair guy when he messed with the power. I requested a senior tech for the next appointment and they then sent someone who had never worked on cooktops. He spent three hours on it until he said that it was beyond him. On the 4^th appiontment for repair, the tech was a no show due to a scheduling problem on their side. I really hate dealing with these incompetent people.

its taking every bone in my body not to just simply flame the life out of these guys, but i will do my level best. its a rant, and i apologize in advance. hopefully the facts are important enough to warrant the wall ‘o’ text…
bought a new lawn mower from this store (the purchase itself was horrible, but thats another story) mower comes with a 2 year factory warranty, and (this from sears’ own website:)

used the mower less than 10 times over the course of 10 weeks of ownership (keep the number of times handy, readers!) to mow a landscaped lawn, no rocks, nothing crazy. ran fresh pump gas every time, new container, ran the mower out of fuel each time it was run to minimize issues. no dust or dirt clouds while mowing. im a careful tool user
go to mow the lawn, midway through, mower dies, i do some preliminary troubleshooting, and im 90% certain the carb float is stuck, and is flooding the engine. fuel soaked wet plug and fouled plug seem to confirm this. not wanting to void my warranty, i leave the carb alone, and bring it in for service.
here’s where the horror starts:
i walk in the door and tell the counter person that i need my mower serviced. without any further ado, i then get questioned up and down about the quality of the fuel, and was i running their expensive fuel stabiliizer additive each time. no i said, i read the manual, and it stated that as long as you ran the right fuel (non E85) that you will be fine. legally gas stations have to state Ethanol content of their gas. (the E-​number) and i never ran any E85 in the tank. (i also ran the tank dry each time). i dont run the stabilizer, and the manual says nothing about having to run it or void any warranty. i also get harangued for not having purchased an extended warranty for the mower. uhh, yeah.
when that line of accusation doesn’t work on me, the counter person pumps the gas remaining out of the tank and pronounces it «contaminated». really? just by looking at it? person claims «it looks contaminated». BTW fuel was colored by the refinery for identification. all fuels have this dye. look at it the next time you pump gas… manufacturer fuel dyes (taggants) makes gasoline instantly contaminated? i’ve run the same fuel for all my other tools with no issues and in my scooter for over 2 years with no issues whatsoever. this fuel was pumped less than 24 hours before i brought the mower in for service. my weed whacker used it without a hiccup.
so, what i’m getting right out of the gate is someone who’s trying to accuse me of mistreating equipment, and negligence. and doing their level best to disqualify my potential warranty claim. well thanks, i see this is going to go well. being that this person sounds more like a conspiracy nutjob, and not a service person seems to be par for the course.
I definitely feel taken care of as a customer, and someone who dropped several hundred dollars on a new mower to avoid bulls*** repairs. wait, you’re supposed to help me, right? you’re a service and repair desk!
after much back and forth with this person about the validity of fuel claims and not a few digs against my maintenance and fuel skills, said mower is accepted for repair. mind you i already suspect a faulty float as being the problem. no fuel issue would cause a problem like this. not on a mower this new…
fast forward several days, my mower is ready, i go pick it up, and the first line item is the carb repair «faulty float» fixed under warranty, and the fouled spark-​plug (result of carb float problem) was done for free. great! oh, but wait, the repair person decided that replacing a near new air filter, blade, and pull handle needed to also happen in order to make my mower run again. WHAT? the air filter was almost new. had only a token few pieces of dry cut grass in it. etc. etc.
how about contacting me before you throw parts in? i didn’t approve those parts, and they were not necessary to getting my mower fixed. i ran my mower only a few times since i bought it. so either its faulty from the factory, which should be replaced free as factory defective, or you are just trying to pile parts on me to pad the bill. at least they gave my old parts back. i’m keeping them and am happy to forward pictures to anyone that doesn’t believe that they replaced perfectly good parts.
I had to contest the extra parts replaced just to get my mower back.
oh, and the prices for the replacement parts were ridiculous.
well, sears, if you want to reduce your warranty claims, this is a great way to do it, but i highly doubt i’ll spend another penny in your stores after this.
TLDR; sears didn’t want to honor a warranty, counter person is a jacka**. its a factory defect. they then pad the bill with unnecessary replacement parts to make money.
