I went to Dr. Edgar a few years back for a root canal and he and his staff were so awesome, I’m going back for my next one. Woohoo! He’s great and there was no pain afterwards (just tenderness), it’s the nerves and your mind that can get ya.

My dentist referred me to Dr. Edgar for a consult regarding a suspect tooth and while my visit was short, all aspects of it were pleasant. I probably will not need to go back to see Dr. Edgar, but if I do, I will do so without hesitation.

Excellent. A couple of weeks before I met Dr. Edgar, I learned for the first time the meaning of the word «toothache.» I was in a lot of pain, and scared! Two separate dentists gave me the same advice: You need a root canal. Go see Dr. Edgar! And I’m glad I did. Dr. Edgar and his team took great care of me. I’m not the easiest dental patient; I’m very squeamish and sensitive. I’ve had some scary experiences in the past with anesthetic not working; apparently my jaw and teeth have some… uh…quirks, let’s say. Dr. Edgar got right to the (forgive me!) root of the problem, and I walked out happy and pain-​free, ready for routine follow-​up with my regular dentist. I’m very grateful.

I can not say enough good things about Dr Edgar and his team. The staff and office are wonderful and you know when you walk in the door that you are getting the best treatment possible.

Highly skilled and equipped with all the equipment needed to make a root canal as pain-​free and effective as you could find in Portland. Here is one example: My lower molar was not numbing up completely with traditional anesthetic. I braced myself for PAIN and he whips out a brand new bone numbing tool and seconds later (and no injection pain) I am completely numb. Another great thing is that his office was able to schedule me for both and evaluation and the actual root canal in a combined single appointment within a week of my call.

I highly recommend Dr. Edgar. Couldn’t be happier with the choice. I had a root canal procedure, during which he prepared me for everything that happened as we went along. Pricing is fair for an endodontist in the city. My dentist assured me I’d be in good hands with him and I was.

I needed an emergency root canal and the endodontist my spur-​of-​the-​moment dentist recommended had less than stellar Unilocal reviews (which we all take very seriously) so I decided to do a little research of my own. Let me tell you, Dr. Edgar earned every single one of these 5-​star reviews! He got me in the same day, was so friendly and funny, and did a GREAT job on my tooth. No pain what-​so-​ever. Dr. Edgar is the BEST! You will not regret going to see him.

I was referred by my dentist to see Dr Edgar for a root canal and I have a very good experience. I had an appointment first thing in the morning and when I walked in he and his staff were very pleasant and happy. Good way to start the morning. My experience in the chair was very painless, Dr Edgar was very personable and he worked well with his staff. He is a genuinely nice man and hopefully I never need a root canal again, but if I did, this is where I would return.

Dr. Edgar and his entire staff are so wonderful! Getting a root canal is really scary, but he did an amazing job with NO PAIN! Scheduling was super easy and I was in and out… did I mention PAINLESS!

I have a lot of dental anxiety and found out I needed a root canal. My regular dentist referred me to Dr Edgar and I couldn’t have been happier with the care I received from him. I was scheduled within a week of my initial phone call. Their registration process is done on ipads, which was pretty neat. His dental assistants were really friendly and helpful. Dr Edgar explained the procedure thoroughly and answered all my questions, including addressing several questions about dental anxiety. I was scheduled for the root canal a few days later and the process was virtually painless. I didn’t think I’d be able to get a root canal without nitrous but Dr Edgar doesn’t use it. Instead, I used oral sedation that worked out perfectly. About a week later, I was having some pain with biting. I called his office and they were booked up but were able to schedule me in to be seen right away.
If you need a root canal, I’d try Dr Edgar. The office is nice. The staff were friendly and very professional. I was really impressed with Dr Edgar. I wish he could be my regular dentist!

I thought this guy was great. Extremely thorough. It did not seem like he just wanted to get the root canal done. In fact he spent over an hour just assessing wether i really need a root canal.

About 2 years ago (yes, that long ago) I noticed a small swelling in my gums. It was more annoying than painful, but I had just moved and was in search of a job, and all that jazz, so I put off having it checked out. Well, when I finally made it to a dentist and lo and behold, it was a massive tooth root abscess and needed a root canal… awesome. My regular dentist gave me a referral to Dr. Edgar’s office, so I made an appointment to go see him. I made my consultation appointment and we set a date for the procedure, despite the damage and severity of the infection, Dr. Edgar assured me that he was confident we could save the tooth…
Now, I work in the medical field, even though it’s veterinary medicine, so I tend to be that annoying client who calls and has about 100 questions (sorry…). I just like to know what I’m in for. Every time I called, with a new question, the staff was so kind and accommodating, and they answered my questions. If the receptionist I spoke with didn’t have the answer, she had someone who did call me back within a day or so.
The day of the procedure, I was pretty damn nervous, I had no idea what to expect. Dr. Edgar was so nice, his technician (whose name I have forgotten because I am terrible), was great and they both addressedall of my concerns. We had a lovely conversation about Disneyland, pets, and joked about how they might use some of my veterinary distraction techniques (for when I give puppies and kittens their shots) on my when they give the the nerve block injection (pat my head, pet my nose, etc.). A little humor goes a long way for me. Even during an especially challenging part of the procedure, I never lost faith in Dr. Edgar’s confidence, and when we got through it, it was even more awesome! I think I even gave a few «woohoo’s» through all of the instruments sticking out of my mouth.
These guys work strictly by referral, and I could not be happier that I was referred to them by my regular dentist. Thanks Dr. Edgar and staff, you guys make an uncomfortable situation really pretty great!

You know root canals are never fun. Never exciting. Never cute. Especially when you have «funny shaped roots» like this one. But, if one must canal a root, have Dr. Edgar canal that root. The doctor himself was nice, willing to educate on what’s going on in there, pleasantly engaging while doing the roto-​rooter to my cuspid. The staff was also very friendly, accommodating. The office is in a handy inner location, and it appears modern, and was very clean. (Insert Roto-​Rooter theme).
