Thank you for visiting Salon Chi, formerly Tiki Beauty Bar.

In May of 2010 Salon Chi went through a major remodel from a tiki bar theme to a calming and relaxing Zen atmosphere. Please come by for a glass of wine or beer, tea or coffee:) In addition to our quality hair, natural nail and facial waxing services, we offer a warm welcome and great conversation!

We are proud to carry Davines, Moroccan Oil and Loma.

History

Established in 2005.

I bought Tiki Beauty Bar from its previous owner in May 2010. I wanted to create a place where people could come for a great hair cut or color and leave feeling relaxed and more confident about their appearance. We really care about your total experience at Salon Chi – we listen closely to what you want and go out of our way to achieve it!

Business Owner

My name is Fawn Raab. I trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy and the Toni & Guy Academy, and I’ve been in the beauty industry since 1987.

In 1997 I visited Oregon from California and fell in love with the beautiful beaches and mountains that surround the Portland area. I’m now a resident of the charming and community-​oriented Sellwood neighborhood where Salon Chi is located.

Fawn is amazing. I saw her for a few years until I moved out of Portland. I always got an amazing haircut, and she was great to talk to. I was often asked by people who cut my hair because it looked so good. I will definitely visit when I am back in town.

I have been going to Salon Chi since it was established 5 years ago. I’ve never been to any other. Fawn styles my hair exactly as I like it and she is very charming & entertaining as well. Requests for appointments are promptly responded to & there’s never any wait. Parking is never a problem. I recommend it very highly.

Arrived in Sellwood, Portland at 4:30pm and needed a haircut that was summery. Went into Salon Chi 20 mins before closing and was greeted by Fawn. I have been going to Fawn for several years now. I first found her because I was new to Sellwood and had a really bad haircut from another stylist. I have thick crazy hair and it turns into a «helmet» very easily. I came to Fawn and she transformed the mess into a gorgeous hairstyle, I was so impressed! Been going to her ever since and she never lets me down, always does a fantastic job.

Great place! Both my wife and I go to Fawn and get great haircuts. Plus Fawn is a lot of fun to talk to, so it’s no longer an ordeal for me anymore. Before, I wound up either going to el-​cheapo cuts and regretting it, or going to some pretentious place that cost way too much and had way too much attitude. Fawn’s Chi Salon is cool place to go, reasonably priced, and enjoyable. What a concept! We’re big fans.

Salon Chi is awesome! My wife and I both go here, and love getting our hair cut by – and chatting with – Fawn, the owner. She’s been cutting our hair for a couple of years now, and we’ve never had anything less than a great experience with her. She obviously has a lot of styling experience, and she takes the time to get it right.
I would recommend Salon Chi to anyone, male or female, who wants a good haircut from friendly people who take pride in what they do. And, as a previous review mentioned, the prices are very reasonable.
