Saint Pizza Lounge

Great pizza! And amazing bathroom. I mean you want to pee in this bathroom. There is a disco ball and fire place. And the service is great. I was really impressed by the bathroom though… Holy smokes.

The pizza here is great! Some of the best in town, drinks are good too.
Been coming here off an on for a while. Typically the service is top notch, I like the family that owns the place and they take care of their customers.

My FAVORITE place in Portland to get a beer and pizza! Stella, Alona, Amanda, Erika And Wellen have all been so kind and such great servers! The owner is very nice as well and loves to get behind the counter to help make pizza! Very personal, fun people who even make new customers feel like regulars. I have to say, the pepperoni pizza is a must. And the home-​made hot sauce and ranch are killer! They also have amazing outdoor seating and a private smoking patio. Whoo!

I am starting to become a regular at St. Pizza Lounge. Though they have awesome pizza, I come here for the drinks, the pizza is just a bonus. They have a changing Drink List, however we came shortly after one of the drink list changes and noticed the drink we fell in love was no longer on the list. They still made the Tom Collins and when we go back now, they are starting to remember that we like Tom Collins. The bartenders all seem to know the drink menus backward and forward and are really nice. I feel they are paying a homage to some oldies, but goodies, ie. Tom Collins. On our last trip, we shared a pizza with tasty sausage and arugula and I ended it with a white russian that had me quoting «The Dude» it was so good. I havent been here when the Gladstone Pizza part was open, but St. Pizza is basically the late night lounge part that is to the right of Gladstone. This place is like that place we will ‘end up at’ if we cant decide where to go. Even if I am not in the mood for pizza, its so good, I still go. Pizza and a drink will never let you down. Check this place out for both the pizza and drinks, or just the pizza. Great stuff!

Shout out to the bartender and waitress here who held onto my glasses for month one night after I left them while having a pitty party for myself over a bad date. Did I mention at 10 pm there are slices at a happy hour and $ 2 caeser salad. Thank you gals — you rock in so many ways! PS In what ways — they carded a 45 year old cougar! PPS Love the fennel sausage pizza, its going to be the mantra of my late nite binging «a moment on my lips, forever on my hips!»

When a bartender tells you, «My Daddy owns the bar,» you can pretty much tell where the evening is going to take you. The place was cool and the music had a good vibe and the pizza smelled great. We were both looking for a place to rent out for a company event but our check came too soon for that conversation. I’m sure the other stars given by fellow Unilocalers were justly earned but after our experience we know three things; we won’t be back, our company won’t be back and that a Napoleon complex knows no gender. Remove snotty from the quotient and my stars will increase fourfold. Expensive drinks are de rigueur but in the end it’s the people that make a place worth patronizing.

Tom Collins will get me every time. The gin is perfect, the cherry sour, and the first sip divine. This place is my spot for a mixed drink with some pizza on the side. Not that the pizza isn’t good because the white pie is freakin delish but the pour is what makes this place come to mind. The drink menu changes slightly from time to time but the bartenders will still make me a Tom Collins which is tops for me. There are other drinks that even describe what they deliver like «that cool refreshing drink» with cucumber coming to the party.
Then you have pizza. The crust is thin and crispy. The white sauce is one of my favorites. Really you can’t go wrong with any of the house pizzas. For the house and umbria would be the tops for me. The fennel really stands out on for the house and the balsamic glaze on the Umbria kicks it up.
So sip on a cocktail enjoy a slice of pie while you take in the tupac mural.

Drinks and food were on time and exactly what I wanted. I even got xtra cheese on my pizza for free, service was great Ill be back soon

So great. Awesome lady-​bartenders, which I love to encounter. Amazing pizza, very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, strong drinks and a good selection. Always great music playing. This is a new favorite of mine — I’m only sad it took me this long to discover it.

Three friends an I went here last night for a late dinner and drinks. We had the Greek pizza and a meat pizza. The meat pizza was great, but the Greek pizza was FABULOUS. Our meat-​loving men ate this vegetarian option, and it was gone first, which is a first for our group.
The drinks were great. I had the Pimms Cup (yum yum). One friend had a margarita & when it came out she thought it was small, then after she took a sip she said, «that’s just the way a margarita should taste».
I thought the setting and mood were nice. We were able to visit, and the music was fun & not too loud.
I would go back. :)

My favorite place in the neighborhood, and quite possibly the best pizza in Portland. Well, there’s that /​other/​place, but their bad service and inflated ego make it not worth going unless out-​of-​towners suggest it.
Staff here is awesome, their drink menu and bartenders are great. Like many of the other reviewers here, I only fear that they will get busier and busier and I won’t be able to just walk in whenever and get a great pie and a stiff cocktail.

The pizza was great and the drinks were good. But when asked the waitress for the rest of our pizza to go she stacked all 5 of our pieces on top of each other and wrapped them in foil… Who does that? Lame.

I originally wrote this review on the Gladstone Street Pizza listing, but since this is basically the same place, I’m posting it here, too:
This place has been on my to-​try pizza restaurant list for a long time and I was finally able to cross it off. The prices are on the reasonable side of high, but the quality of the food and drink makes it rather worth it, even without a $ 3 check-​in discount. My wide and I shared a large Caesar salad and a large «Petersen» pizza (kalamata olives and sundried tomatoes). Awesome dressing on the salad and the pizza was delicious. Perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings. Beautifully charred thin crust. By my reckoning, it ranks up there with Ken’s and Apizza.
Good wine and mixed drinks selection. Beer selection is small, but interesting (the evening we were there: Everybody’s Brewing, Boneyard, Alameda, and Boondt).
I’m not sure what’s up with their schizophrenic name-​changes and the restaurant-​side/​lounge-​side split. Well, I understand why they put the two sides in place (underage/​of-​age), but why one side is Gladstone Pizza and the other is Star Pizza Lounge (or something like that) doesn’t really make sense.

Super cool place to grab a drink and pizza. I drive by this place everyday, and sometimes indulge when I’m having a cheeky cheat day for my gluten/​dairy free diet.
The last pizza I had there was extra cheese (duh), grilled chicken, onions and mushrooms. It was incredibly satisfying. I wouldn’t say it’s the best pizza in Portland, but it’s ambiance and low-​key neighborhood feel makes it one of my favorite places in the Gladstone/​Holgate area of SE.

I got a chilly vibe from this place. I didn’t arrive too late, I didn’t order anything weird (I don’t know, maybe a house salad is a weird order in a bar?) with any weird instructions. I felt like I was on the bartender’s bad side by just being there. I guess maybe I’m a sensitive consumer. I prefer happy people who at least pretend to enjoy their jobs as I’m shelling out money.
That said, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar – the giant mural, the allure of a patio (I think, I didn’t go outside), the neighborhood and the noise level. If I remember correctly, the music was decent and not overwhelming if you’re actually trying to have a conversation; that may be a plus or minus depending on your situation.
I’m not in any hurry to return because it’s not really within walking distance.. .it is, I guess but I have so many other good options closer. And I’m too neurotic to deal with perceived-​rudeness.

Damnit, how I wish I could give it 3.75 stars, but alas…
Went there for a wonderful friend’s going away party with fellow Unilocalers:
Upside: Drinks were flavorful, and they pour aviation gin, one of my personal faves. My salty dog was great with Gin. The pizza was very tasty.
Only (very small) Downsides: This place has a good amount of space, but I am not sure the kitchen is setup for groups– these guys kept up with all of us throwing pizza orders at them just as fast as they could, and everything I had was tasty, so I can’t really complain.
My fiancé and I split a 12″ marina/​cheese pizza and added basil and Gruyère, and still left a slight bit hungry– today then we visited sizzle pie, and for half the price, left feeling fuller than at the Pizza Lounge– but, I think alcohol contributed to my hunger last night, so as mentioned, I think it is a wash. Good place, I’d go back, and probably just snack and drink.

I threw a birthday party here and it could not have been easier. We had over 50 people show up, and Saint Pizza barely batted an eye. Of course we arranged this all in advance, but still, it could not have been smoother, or more festive!
I love this place — you get all the delicious awesomeness that we have all come to expect from Gladstone Pizza, with the added benefit of a full liquor license. Cocktails are a STEAL in the $ 4 to $ 6 range. Nope — not a typo. They are pouring above average liquor as their «well» options. Steve, the master behind the bar, has developed what he calls the list of lost cocktails — things that were once cocktail list darlings, but have fallen by the way side in recent years and/​or decades (think: Tom Collins, Mai Tai, Daiquiris, Grasshoppers, etc.) Each option completely delicious, and evocative of times past.
Saint Pizza is a terrific addition to the original Gladstone Pizza space. Who needs to wait in line for pizza in SE Portland when you have this totally legit option of thin, crisp, fresh, chewy crusted pies? Get the margherita with ground sausage and tell me I’m wrong. For the true piece de resistance, however… if all the stars align, they might have all the necessary ingredients for their white pie with Canadian bacon. If that is an option, forget everything you know about pizza and order it. Only after tasting this pie can you claim to have tasted Heaven right here on Earth. You should be so lucky.

I had been to Gladstone Pizza before, and had a great pie. I am not able to drive across town on Friday during rush hour for just some pizza.

they have liquor now…
and an awesome bartender.
The dude is entertaining, cocky without being a dick, he seems to be in a groove when the place is slammed. I first visited on a friends awesome birthday party, and was blown away so much, that I came back 6 days later to claim an entire pie.
Before you order the pie, look over the drink menu and look at the bar. The drink price to ingredient ratio is off the charts. Tanqueray is the well gin, and Jack Daniels the whiskey?! Most old school cocktails, the bar specialty, are very reasonable in the 5 – 7 range, and worth it. They also have great wine to pair with the pizza and several beers on tap and I think some bottles as well.
We settled up to the bar, set to order the pizza from the party last week. A Margherita pizza with sausage. Guess what?! It was exactly the same as before, perfectly crisp crust, awesome spices and cheese, holy shit!
The music playing always seems to be right, without being loud, and the place seems like it should be more packed. I am glad it’s not yet, but I am sure it will be soon.
