Dr. DeMars is a very thorough, competent and professional Surgeon. Many members of my family have had the good fortune of having Dr. DeMars be the only choice for both necessary and elective surgeries.
Personal consultations take place before each surgery. Don’t let anyone tell you that this step is unnecessary — even if you have done your homework and ‘think’ you know what to expect. Both patient and Doctor need to be in sync with the procedure, expectations and recovery time/​healing time that will be required. You need to feel that you have had every question answered and that you feel comfortable with your Doctor. I did and I do. Dr. DeMars has a wonderful ‘bedside’ manner. My Father, now deceased, was a Doctor and had the very same attitude that Dr. Demars has. He truly cares about his patients and wants the best for them.
The office staff is very knowledgeable and empathetic to each personal situation. Again, my family has had many. Tish handles the financial portion and also discusses what to expect both before, during and after the procedure. She is friendly and yet professional. I can see why she has been with Dr. DeMars for so many years.
For the most recent surgery, the Anesthesiologist, Mark, was hilarious. Professional but extremely pleasant and funny. I didn’t have as much direct communication with the front desk staff, but they always have a smile and immediately acknowledge that you are there.
You don’t want to hire a Surgeon just because you saw his face on TV. Will he actually be performing the surgery himself? Dr. DeMars will follow you through from the minute you walk into the office until you are through healing from your surgery. I would want nothing less.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the surgeries that Dr. DeMars has performed for our family and I know many, many friends that feel the same with their surgeries.
I don’t often write reviews, but having surgery is an important decision and I want to share my personal experiences to help someone/​anyone else that may be considering the same. You won’t be disappointed with Dr. Demars or his staff.

What an unscrupulous strike of this office towards me to state such nonsense and irrelevance to my review about this staff’s unprofessional ways…
Yes, it’s overwhelming to think I was about to spend over 18k on plastic surgery!
I simply wanted what was best and what was truly going to make me happy. For the record, I had already made my 1^st payment to Care Credit by the time I had my surgery, goes to show I had already been charged A MONTH in advance way before my surgery and not the 2 weeks prior to surgery like this office claims.
I’m also very reserved and not the type to make a big fuss or scene about how the personnel at this office made me feel, thinking I’m never going to see them again anyways. I’m sure they’re quite aware of how they treat each individual they work with therfore I had no need to say anything about their unprofessional demeanor.
I also asked to please extend my light duty due to a few very large and very painful abnormal knots that have formed under my incision scar from the tummy tuck procedure! Which by the way the Dr. had no knowledge of what they were unless he operated and remove them. I wasn’t even given an idea of what they could possibly be, I had to do some research on my own to figure out more answers to my questions. I always felt so rushed out of this office and my questions always unanswered.
Overall, what a upsetting experience.

I got on and read the most recent review and had to respond. I have been to multiple surgeons in the area and Dr. Demars by far had the most friendly welcoming staff. Tish was completely comforting and sweet. Before even meeting Dr. Demars, I had an overwhelming comfortable feeling that other offices in the area didn’t provide, which is why I chose to come here for My tummy tuck (and more)! Dr. Demars has been more than accommodating and the entire staff, especially Tish and Chelsea have been nothing less than amazing. I had my surgery in the beginning of April. I have a very weird travelling work schedule and I have had to cancel, reschedule etc. Multiple appointments. Tish, nor anyone in the office has ever even hinted annoyance toward me at all. They have always assured me that I’m not a pain in the butt (even though I know I am lol) and have been very sweet and accomodating. Don’t let one disgruntled person turn you away from coming here for your surgery. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. 5 stars without a doubt!

I am a referring physician and prefer Dr. DeMars’ breast enhancement surgeries to all others. His cosmetic breasts are the best I have ever seen.

I met with two other groups before meeting with DeMars, and was discouraged along the way by companies and physicians who were eager to schedule me the same day or within the week, run my credit and approve me, and/​or want to take my money before I was ready or properly informed.
DeMars and his team were not of that nature.
Setting up the appointment, and meeting with the team was easy. A simple phone call was all it took. The front desk staff were great, the nurses were kind, and the doctor was seen swiftly.
I paid the consultation fee (one of the things, I found, that made a difference. A clinic with a «free consultation» is going to charge higher on the surgery itself, so beware of that). DeMars was knowledgable about his craft, and debriefed me on his background. He also was clear to indicate what the results would be, and with my age (25), he told me that it would be wise to think long and hard if this was something I really wanted with my budget.
The surgery was great, and the team that did it was incredible. I had a lipectomy of the breasts, the abdomen, and the flank (hip/​love handle area). DeMars was kind and worked with me prior to surgery so we were clear on what would be done and how. His anesthesiologist was funny and kind as he prepped me before surgery.
The next thing you knew, I woke up. I’m still healing. The team checked in with me. They made sure I was doing well, that I did what I needed to along the way.
I’m overall very pleased with how this clinic did their work, and the price tag associated. Like I mentioned, paying for doctor’s time is worth it, because they’ll be candid with you just like DeMars was. I’d do it the same way, any day.
So give Dr. DeMars a shot. He is a standup doc, a straight-​shooter, and a good man to do business with.

Absolutely the best plastic surgeon there is in portland. Made me feel extremely comfortable during my entire process — pre, day of, and post.

Always a good experience! I have had 3 different procedures done at this office. Everyone I was in contact with was so pleasant and helpful, it was the first time I did NOT get sick after anesthesia, the anesthesiologists were great! I totally recommend Dr DeMars he is very skilled and has beautiful results, my augment looks completely natural, no complaints!

Dr. DeMars and staff are kind, courteous, and go above and beyond to make the entire experience as seamless as possible. The staff is resourceful and helpful, and I give them my highest recommendation.

All what they care about is money.
I scheduled a consultation and I was 10 minutes late Lisa called me and left me a very rude voice massages telling me that I should of canceled my appointment and made room for other patients to be seen. She made me feel like I’m just a dollar sign not a patient. I ended up canceling my appointment and went somewhere else because before I even stepped a foot in this office I started dealing with a bad attitude and very unprofessional treatment.
I highly recommends patient to look for a better caring office then this one.

I could not be happier with Dr. DeMars and his staff. I had a breast lift from him awhile back and I can’t wait to have him do more in the future. At our first meeting he made me feel so comfortable that I wanted to do the surgery right then :) My recovery time was much shorter and smoother than expected and I was in very little pain considering the invasiveness of the surgery. I highly recommend him!

I had a face lift everything went perfect, very happy with my new look. Dr. DeMars was easy to work with. My eyes and brows look fantastic my jaw line is back. The recovery was easier than I expected. I am enjoying the compliments from strangers, they don’t know. I would encourage anyone considering plastic surgery to meet with Dr. DeMars and get your questions answered.

Nine years ago I had a rhinoplasty done by Dr. DeMars and couldn’t be happier with the results! Dr. DeMars does amazing work and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a cosmetic surgeon in the NW.
During our consultation I mentioned that I wanted a slightly narrower, more refined nose although I stressed that I wanted it to still look like «my» nose (aka no «Beverly Hills» super skinny nose). I had a bump in the bridge, a rounded tip, and felt like it was a little wide for my face. I felt like he took my comments with great consideration and explained in depth the procedure, the recovery, and the realistic results of the operation. The thing I liked best was that he wasn’t trying to sell me on his skills or additional work.
Going into the procedure I felt excited and nervous, but confident that I made a great choice with Dr. DeMars! Because I had the width of my nose narrowed (which involved breaking the side bones and moving them in) I had about a 2 week recovery before I could go back to work due to bruising and swelling. After the first month I would say 80% of the swelling had gone down but I noticed subtle changes for about a year, which I expected due to the in-​depth discussion I had with Dr. DeMars regarding the recovery.
I would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for a cosmetic surgeon.

I would highly recommend Dr. DeMars to anyone! I felt very confident and informed coming out of my consultation with Dr. DeMars — and he thoroughly answered all of my questions. The nurses, anesthesiologist, & Dr. DeMars all made me feel very comfortable through my entire experience. Having a breast augmentation and chin implant, I now feel much more confident about my appearance. Dr. DeMars did a great job of enhancing my appearance but still making me look natural. I would highly recommend Dr. DeMars to anyone inquiring about having plastic surgery. I would do it all over again, and plan on going back for a ‘mommy makeover’ when I’m done having kids!

Dr DeMars did my breast augmentation back in 2002. He did a fabulous job. They look so natural and still do. No one can tell I have had implants. After 10 years my breast still looks fantastic. He and his staff were very educated about this procedure, as well as other cosmetic surgeries. They are a very caring clinic. I highly recommend anyone to go to him for any of their comestic needs.

Dr. DeMars need to stay with breast work and away from any face work. He did a terrible job on my nose and lasered away permanently all of the pigment from under my eyes.
On the under eye damage, I had weepy seeping eyes for months. I returned to Dr. DeMars office. He did not ever acknowledge a mistake. I asked him what could be done… he just said nothing. He did not offer any discount or burn scar treatment treatment; nothing but a session with his make up person. That was many years ago. I essentially had bags lasered IN to my eyes by him. I have spent thousands of dollars treating these as burn scars, somewhat successfully although the pigment will never come back. I just received a lower bletheroplasty to pull the bag he created up. This helped! Dr. DeMars, however, never offered this option to me.
As to the nose, I had it done once by him, but was left with very little change except more asymmetry; what looked like a permanent bruise on my bridge. I returned to him because I foolishly believed I should stay with the same doctor. He did a second job, but with no discount of course for the first bad one. The second job was even worse as he took the tip up again, even though that was not discussed, so you could now see into my nostrils; the nostrils ended up different sizes; and I looked terribly plastic, yet my nose was still too broad for my face, and still asymmetrical, but now in different places. Again, he took no responsibility. He and his anesthesiologist laughed when I said in follow up the nostrils were different sizes and said «well no one should be looking up your nose.» They scoffed at my unhappiness, did not offer any solutions and said it would change over the next year or so, and not to worry until then. Later when it did not improve and I had a freakish plastic look still, he refused even a minimal refund.

Honestly, I am so extremely satisfied with Dr. Demars, his work, and his staff. Everyone that I talked to during the process was phenomenal and so genuinely nice. Very educated staff, and able to answer any questions, no matter how silly it might be. I don’t even have any constructive criticism. They were all just that rad. I would recommend anyone I knew who was curious/​interested in cosmetic surgery to check Dr. Demars’ clinic first.
