Specialties
To offer the freshest ingredients, we started the first farm to fork restaurant in Washington County in 2012. You can see what’s growing at every visit in the garden facing West Union.
Quality, from scratch recipes featuring natural meats and local products. Many gluten-free options are available. Remodeled, casual dining room for all ages and a lively «Cheers”-like bar with happy hour drink and food specials. The seasonal patio adjacent to the on-site garden opened in 2014 with cozy fire pits as another all-ages and group gathering area.
History
Established in 1991.
Rock Creek Corner has a colorful history dating back to the late 1930’s. The cross roads at 185th and West Union have been a hub of activity for generations.
In 2007, Christy and Robert Bennett-Hanes bought «Rock Creek Café & Pub», renovated it inside and out and updated the menu to feature their own recipes — real food made from scratch using local and seasonal ingredients. Their assortment of comfort foods rotate to showcase produce from their own on site and off site gardens. Favorites like pizza and the best calamari you can find anywhere, plus soups, salads and stews, gourmet mac n cheese, chicken pot pie and dry aged Oregon-raised beef, buffalo burgers and chili. It’s honest food that will satisfy any palate. Experience it in the comfort of the all-ages dining or in the cozy casual bar, where you can tune in to your favorite team and enjoy the same delicious dishes available in the dining room plus drink specials, happy hour special food specials and a great late night menu.
Meet the Business Owner
Robert and Christy B.
Business Owner
Christy & Robert owned and operated Diamond Corner Café, a local favorite in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. Upon moving home to Portland (Christy, a native Oregonian who is a Sunset High School and UO alum) embarked upon overhauling and updating Rock Creek Corner — previously Rock Creek Café and Pub. With extensive food background and the love of a project, both inside and outside of the building was extensively remodeled to include a family friendly dining area and deck. The menu has been updated to feature farm-to-fork dishes using produce from the on and off-site gardens, as well as locally sourced meats, bread and seafood. Being located in an area where the option for fresh, seasonal produce is so rich and varied, we are able to offer the best and freshest items available. It is truly a labor of love.
