Lots of fresh veggies in my tasty General’s Chicken. That was decent value @ $ 6.75, and was delicious. $ 1.00 for a spring roll, less so. Overall, I’ll definitely be back. Lots of yummy looking dishes on the menu. I would have preferred to have brown rice available.

Today, a lovely day, February 23rd, I had a hankering for my favorite food cart beef chow mein. I was disappointed to see the price go up to $ 6.75. That’s getting up there for a lunch where I feel I get about a quarter less than before the price hike. Will have to rethink this. I miss the days when everyone only charged $ 5.00!

Delicious! I love their BBQ Pork fried rice!!! It’s good with the chow mein too! Gotta try the eggrolls too! Crispy and delicious :)

Had their pad Thai. Would have been really good had they added some kind of sauce or seasoning. Very plain and bland, like eating plain spaghetti. Not worth the $ 6 in my opinion. I will not be returning.

The Sezchuan Chicken I received was exactly what I expected for a $ 6 cart food dish: — Breaded & fried chicken pieces(pretty sure they’re from the Tyson/Foster Farms bag you get at the supermarket) — stir fried veggies(the chef was kindly willing to customize the type and quantity) — a sweet/spicy sauce«Sezchuan» sauce(a little too sweet for me, but standard for Americanized Chinese food) — all atop a a fair helping of nicely cooked rice. For being fast, filling, and tasting alright, it certainly got the job done.

Bad enough that I felt compelled to write the review before even finishing my lunch. This is the first time I’ve tried this particular cart, craving some stir fried veg and something on the lighter side(in attempt to shed all those holiday pounds…) I don’t expect anything glamorous from Buddha’s Delight, I mean seriously — It’s just stir fried vegetables. Still, this had no flavor, waaaay too much oil(I asked for less oil and I’m pretty sure she didn’t understand me) and they didn’t even have brown rice as an option. Some veggies are undercooked and some are charred. To top it all off I asked for medium and there’s no heat whatsoever. Not a single chili flake in sight. This is the worst I’ve had from PSU foodcarts since I tried Sultan’s over the summer(which is even worse, please don’t eat there for your own safety). With so many delicious options to choose from, it’s days like this when I kick myself for trying something new.

Great food cart! Everything on the menu is $ 6, and the portions are pretty large. I’ve tried a different dish every time so far and each one has tasted great. I personally recommend the spicy chow mein w/chicken, which had the right amount of meat/noodle/spice ratio. The bbq pork fried rice is also excellent. It’s easy to get lost amongst all the food carts here, but Rice and Noodle is definitely one of the better ones.

Right on PSU this is a great option for all students and portlanders alike. The food is delicious, at a very reasonable rate and large portion sizes. Besides, what’s better than supporting a local food cart? Nothing. Hopes this helps!

I had the spicy fried rice with BBQ pork; it was awesome. I think this is the best fried rice I’ve ever had from an establishment. The portion is good for 6 bucks, I had some left over for later.

Super Bowl soup was very good! Great pork, roasted and BBQ, excellent duck. Wontons in the soup were outstanding! Kind of hard to find, with no frontage, but worth the effort. Only one real problem: no hoisin at the table. Obviously family run, so support them!

A friend brought me food from this food cart a few times. Every time the food was delicious! I ate all right away and it was super fresh for Chinese food and seemed healthy with great flavors. it’s making me hungry thinking about it. I can’t wait to try more items on the menu when I’m in the downtown area.

My all time favorite food cart. The rice is amazing! SImple, delicious. Highly recommended. Recently raised their price to $ 6 all menu items, but still worth it! Try the Kung Pao! It’s great! The guy at the front is super cool too, he remembers me by name! EDIT: It seems that there are new people that have taken over the food cart. Raised prices, and DRAMATICALLY cut down portion size which is a huge bummer! Recipes are still the same, but the value for what you get I hate to say, is not worth it anymore. You’re better off going to Sultan’s kitchen to your left, he has amazing baklava!

Me and a friend ordered the chicken fried rice and the Pad Thai. They gave a really small portion of the rice which is ridiculous because it was $ 6 and there wasn’t any flavor to it. The Pad Thai was bland and mushy. Probably won’t go again. I gave it a few stars because they were friendly and relatively quick.

When I’m up in Oregon, I like going to go to R & N. The food is authentic, the staff is friendly, and the price is just right. One of my fav. dishes is their chow fun but I also like their spicy chow mein. I’m a certified«rice boy» and I hate when restaurants skimp on the rice. They don’t do that here and I love eating just the sauce with the rice. Verdict: Highly Recommended!

I’m bumping my review up a star, mostly because the guy that takes the orders has been super nice. I tried their food again today and there was more sauce on it, which made the rice more palatable. If they keep up the good work maybe I’ll start going there more.

I went here a couple weeks ago when I was lured by the $ 5 entrees and ordered something that I can compare with other food places, the Orange Chicken. It’s basic, Chinese-American food, sure, but it’s good to me. What I got was a lot of rice, onions, green/red peppers, but tiny portion of orange chicken. Aw:(, the veggies were tasty and tangy, but barely any meat! I tried to strategically eat the right balance of rice/veggies to meat so I can finish the meal with no disproportion — instead I still had a lot of rice and peppers left over with no meat. I did bring home leftovers, but I was simply disappointed. I’ll give them another try someday, 3 stars because the veggies were really fresh and flavorful.

There’s plenty of Chinese food in the bay area but somehow I keep thinking about the rice plate and fried rice we got in Oregon, of all places. The food was made to order, piping hot and surprisingly tasty. It was as the others said, not greasy and the flavors came from the veggies, herbs, and spices… opposed to oil, MSG, and fat. I consider that a plus! This is not your Panda Express… but more like home-cooked goodness.

Not good. Not bad, but certainly not good. I had a craving for orange chicken craving induced by being made to navigate yet another laptop set in a language that doesn’t even share the same characters as English, with an exchange student who knows about as much English as I do Farsi, all while being so hungry I was about ready to drop. Extended periods of hunger make me distill cravings for delicious teriyaki chicken from Dosirak to breaded, fried and covered in sugar sauce Chinese food. Enter Rice & Noodle. $ 5 got me a carton covered with a thick layer of white rice and about a third as much of the orange chicken. The chicken was alright. Tasted vaguely of marmalade. It came with a bunch of peppers and onions. I hate onions so I quickly tossed those after opening the box, but the peppers were nice and fresh and a welcome addition. Nothing was too greasy, the meat didn’t have the gross pockets of fat holding actual meat together(looking at you, Panda Café), but it was still boring. Too many awesome food carts in that row to be spending my money here.

A new cart on the PSU blocks! At first I was disappointed that yet another Asian cart appeared, but this one seems to be mostly Chinese while all the others seem to be mostly Thai. I got the beef with oyster sauce, which came piled on top of more rice than anyone could ever eat in one sitting. This definitely is one of the least-greasy meals I’ve had from a cart, but at the same time I felt like I could have made this dish at home pretty easily. I did like how healthy the meal seemed, so it’s kind of a toss up. I would definitely try this cart out again, especially because it doesn’t make me wonder if I’ll get sick from their food. Everything on the menu is $ 5.
