Regal Cinemas Fox Tower 10

In all honesty, I only came to this theater because they were playing a film that other theaters near me weren’t. This place is a bit out of the way for me, but worth it for the movie I was seeing.
The theater was clean, I enjoyed my movie and beer, and did not have any negative experiences (: Would come again if another similar situation came up where I couldn’t find any other theaters playing a certain movie I want to see.
Don’t know about parking though. I think it’s like much of the parking in Portland – find a spot on the side of the street to pay for. That’s what we did.

I don’t go to the big box multi-​plex theaters often. I can wait until they make it to Laurelhurst theater. If the one I want doesn’t make it there, or I miss it there, I can catch it on red box or wherever. When I want to see it fast on the big screen then I try and hit the Bagdad… well you get the idea. On occasion I am in the mood for a movie and the one I want is at the big ones. If on my own I come here or Pioneer Place.

This is actually a good place to see a movie, I can grab a pre movie bite downstairs at Flying Elephants or around to corner at Pieology both solid choices, They usually have a good assortment of movies here and the layout is good.
You take the escalator to the top. Concessions (typical high prices for popcorn out of a bag, candy, buckets of Coke etc) are straight ahead then to the left the theaters are laid out in kind of a loop with the restrooms in the middle.
The rooms are varying sizes with a steep slope so the person behind me isn’t buying me to scrunch down. The theater is kept clean and comfortable, with good sound and picture. Really unless you sit to far forward any seat will get you a good view. In all it’s a winner in the multiplex game.
Tip in nice weather if your waiting for your time there is a good park across the street for people watching.

I enjoy this theater often, polite staff, new movies showing, great concessions.
My mom and I saw a movie today and also in the recent past. I like how they now sell beer and wine.
We had to Smart Park today, usually I have pretty good luck with street parking. The greeter at the Regal Fox was fine and told us which direction to head for our feature film. The place wasn’t too busy today. We saw Burnt, not the best, I guess I’ll give the movie a C. But, A+ for Bradley Cooper’s looks and close-​ups.

Comfortable seating. Variety of movies playing. Be sure to get your regal card so you can use the discounts you earn. AARP gives you a discount if you are purchasing a combo pack but it’s only $ 3.00 OFF. Concession prices over the top but what 1^st run movie theater isnt. Parking is expensive. Staff very friendly.
Saw the GIFT. It stunk. But that’s not the theaters fault.

It’s a nice theater. No doubt. Theaters are comfy and varying sizes. They play the best possible movies all in one place. But it’s so darn expensive with few exceptions. Food is so pricy and it’s never easy to get or be downtown. But still, it had bee many years and I enjoyed my ovie experience. Got a seat I liked (on a upper 90s day for the matinée) and I’ll certainly go back again,

The only reason I went to this theater was because Ex Machina was playing there and I wanted to beat the heat! I rarely go to movies and this experience was another reminder as to why I rarely go. There was no parking on the street that wasn’t 90 min or less that I could find in the time I had, and I did allow for ample time. So, I had to pay for parking. I haven’t paid for parking for years here. The movie was two close to two hours, but over 90 min… so it would risk getting a ticket. so parking was the only real option. Regal DOES NOT validate parking. Unreal. The price that they charge for concessions… they should. I was astonished to see that a coke was 4.59 but for $ 1 more you could get a beer… so I opted for that. Surprised nobody else has mentioned no validation. So, if you go here… park far away and walk… I would have had I had the time. I thought that there were be at least 2 hour parking options. Other than that the theater was ok… good to know that they do serve beer/​wine… that is smart in my opinion…
Probably won’t go back to this place anytime soon though. Far from where I live, have to pay for parking, which for me defeated the point of the matinée… eh.

Went to the movies the other night. Stopped off at Starbucks along the way before buying tickets but was not permitted entry with non-​Regal coffee. Wont be going to this theater again. They wanted me to shotgun a hot coffee before I entered! It’s not like I would have been more likely to buy something once I was in. They should have given me a pass and asked me not to do it again. Instead they were petty and ruined our plans. They lost my business forever.

I’ve watched a good amount of movies here (10ish?), and though I enjoyed the movies, which I suppose is the purpose of a movie theater, I just don’t really like this theater. The Regal Fox Tower reminds me of the crumby mall AMCs, Regals, and Cineplexes of my childhood. Like, kernels stuck in the theater seats, sticky soda floors you can feel under your sneaker, and the smell of stale popcorn and processed butter everywhere. They even have those chapstick vending machines in the bathroom! The staff here also perfectly exemplifies the life-​less mall movie theater ambiance. They look pissed and deeply unsatisfied. I don’t blame them. Are they nice? Yes. Do they provide good customer service? Good enough, and definitely what I would expect from someone making minimum wage and working somewhere stuck in the bad-​90s. I mean, how are you supposed to serve that outrageously expensive theater food with a straight face? The beer, popcorn, candy, and other snacks (hotdogs etc.) are all significantly more expensive than the food served at the Hollywood, Laurelhurst, and Cinema 21. What gives? Regal, PLZ at the least, lower the prices of these foods! A revamp of the theater is a lot to ask, but for morale’s sake, and some type of minimal customer satisfaction, do something.
On the plus side, they show some solid movies here. I love the Portland International Film Festival and this theater has been hosting PIFF movies. So that’s great. The location of this theater is also nice. It’s in the center of downtown, and close to a lot of other amenities.

We made a return trip to this theater on our recent trip to Regal Cinemas to see Foxcatcher. Although the movie was slow and the actors were the worst looking possible for Channing Tatum, Mark Rufalo and Steve Carrell, the experience was pretty good.
We were able to pre-​buy tickets, using a scan code on our smart phone to check in. They now offer BEER and WINE with your snacks, which was new compared to the last time we were and well welcomed.
Hurray for movies in style!

In the country of Regal Cinemas, this one is by far the nicest one in its offerings that are less mainstream and more indie. They still have big releases, but they also carry smaller ones. It’s surprising, because in other parts of the country, the big release films are the only ones available.
You can pre-​purchase for your movie and just flash your phone upon arrival. Then you won’t have to stand outside. Walk up the stairs or escalator, past concessions, and watch your movie. Good times.

I won’t go to this theatre again! The last show is 10:00 pm. My sister and I wanted to skip the previews, so we timed it accordingly. When we arrived at 10:15, the box office was closed. We started knocking on the box office windows and on doors to the cinema, but nobody was there. We tried to call after a few minutes of knocking, but there was no number listed on any of the window panels, and the number listed with Fandango was for Regal Cinemas’ general help line.
We waited at the doors for 15 minutes with another group that wanted to skip the previews. Shortly after, a guy came to the door and informed us that they do not sell tickets after the movie has started. We tried to sway him, but he told us that it was «well into the movie» (maybe 10 minutes into the actual movie) and that we had to leave.
It was a Channing Tatum film. What could we have possibly been disrupting???
Thankfully, Portland has plenty of independent cinemas that will gladly accept a paying customer!

This theatre does not allow a matinée for any shows on or after 4:00 pm. Used to be 6:00pm then 5:00pm then 4:30pm.
Shaen I asked to be credited for the ticket considering the afternoon purchase at night price, the manger said he could not give me a receipt and that it would be 5 to 6 days before I was credited. After a 15 minute debate about my need for a receipt he photocopied a partial receipt they keep.
I’ll never go to a movie at Regal again: greed never wins. Punish your customers and see how much your up charges offer less profit… THE NEW STUPID ASS AMERICAN WAY.

Holy crap, this place serves beer and wine now, in any theater! Huge bonus.
It has always been my thing to go to Ringside Fishhouse happy hour and then catch the latest movies here. I like that this place tends to show movies not available in other theaters in the area, so I can catch those movies that are absolutely amazing that not as many people know about.
The addition of beer/​wine is awesome. I have grown tired of Cinetopia and their disheveled furnishings, mediocre service, and ridiculously high prices. The fact that a Regal location with a good movie selection now serves beer/​wine is a great offering.
My only qualm here is that the self-​service kiosk is seriously always out of order. I don’t get it. And the lines can get ridiculously long and there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of ticketing back-​up, even though there are empty windows available.
Nonetheless, I will continue to frequent it, and highly recommend it.

I love this theater mainly because of it’s proximity to so many great happy hours! Right next door to Ringside Fishhouse, and a block or two from some of our top choices (e.g. Heathman, Southpark, Brasserie Montmartre, & Ruth’s Chris)
The service is always pretty standard for a theater, and they serve a decent selection of beer and wine which makes it better than other locations. Plus if you have a regal membership card you will sometimes get free popcorn!
The theaters are small, so come early to get a good seat – especially if you are in a group larger than 2.

I love movies and there is something about seeing a film in theatres with other people that can’t be replaced for me. I almost entirely go to smaller, local theatres like the Hollywood or Cinema 21, but I make an except for the Fox Tower. They get a lot of limited release films pretty quickly. Not NY or LA quick, but quick for Portland standards. The seats are all comfortable and there are several screens so there is a wide breadth of films to choose from. Now they even sell beer and wine!
Why not five stars? It’s still a corporate chain. I am not a fan of stadium seating. Tickets are more expensive than the before mentioned theatres. The concessions cost an arm and a leg.
If you find yourself having to go to a big name theatre, this is the best of the bunch.

As far as corporate cinemas go, this place is top of the list! Very comfortable seats. Theaters are clean and cozy.

Let’s get down to it.
Cool theatre, decent selection usually. Prices very expensive. Two people, one a senior for the first showing. 17 $. Ticket prices like this are helping me to not go to the movies. Also, the armrests suck. They are caved in so your arms sit on two plastic ridges the entire time.

I don’t go to movie theaters a lot. Usually I take the kiddo out to see whatever animated film is out. Being that I am now in Portland, and she is in Texas I have the ability to see other films I wouldn’t usually see. I’m more likely to go find a RedBox and wait till the movies are there.
It was a rare occasion to go see one out. My brother and I had been at a storage unit for several hours (not fun) and then to the Slow Bar (great food and music) and his girlfriend wanted to see Dallas Buyers Club. I knew nothing of it but it turned out to be a really great movie. The theater was what it was. $ 11 for a ticket and it’s a wonder why I’d rather stay home or go find the dollar theater.
The usual overpriced concessions goodies and drinks, not much else to say about the place.

Went here ONCE and will not make that mistake again. Their theaters are laid out crazy weird… I felt like I was at a porn flick or something with their weird ass seat layout.
The service is far worse though. I go to get popcorn and dear God — it took, NOT JOKING, 20 minutes with one customer in front of me since apparently it took two employees and the manager to play with one cash register for a good ten minutes. I finally get helped by the manager. I ask for a popcorn and a cherry slushie to which he points at the slushie machine which only has coke and blue raspberry… yuck. Ok, then I will take a cherry coke. Do I want the other type of slushie (without carbonation)…no thanks. He then walks over to the slushie machine and stares at it… I cannot make this up. He comes back and we have the same conversation ALL OVER AGAIN about the cherry slushie… just get me my goddamned cherry coke dude?! He then walks over and takes forever to bring me my popcorn. He grabs a cup and says AGAIN that they are out of cherry slushie… umm, third time on this conversation now. At said soda machine it takes me saying CHERRY COKE four times until he finally started to fill the cup. Apparently I was speaking in Vietnamese and just not realized it — damned translator microbes not working again…
