PSU Urban Center Southwest 6th & Montgomery Street

Portland State University is slick because of these stations. It is remarkably easy to embark and disembark the train at this stop. The surrounding block has lots of fixtures to help riders be covered from the rain. You can easily run towards it and still not miss your train, owing to the narrow street crossings.
I like going onto the eastside of Portland with the help of the MAX presence at 6^th Ave & Montgomery. You wait with an enthusiastic crowd and you are near a streetcar stop located a block away. There’s some nice benches that are covered. You can in the typical fashion of efficiency, see the arrival times on a flat screen.
The feel is classic mixed with modern. Sometimes, lots of people will be standing at the stop. Some neat Skidmore Fountains are here too and that might be good when you are thirsty. This is a more nuanced stop compared to most of downtown’s simple uncovered bench stops.
The main drawbacks are that only two lines go here which makes it a little less convenient then Pioneer Courthouse Square’s light rail. It also gets packed sometimes at the first stop up the hill and so I might recommend getting the train there, rather than here at the second stop going east.
I am glad Portland State University has this and hopefully the University of Oregon will take note in order to serve the state’s biggest city and come here some day.
