I’ve been taking the Boxing for Combat class with DeShawn for about 5 months now at StudioXFitness. It has changed my life. I had never thrown a punch and no one ever showed me how. Being a bit of a perfectionist, I felt out of my element wearing gloves and hitting a heavy bag at first. DeShawn seemed to intuitively know when to give me pointers when I was ready for them. When I thought I couldn’t be faster, he showed me I could be. Five months later I find that that class has dramatically improved my speed in cycling. I have a lot more burst potential and longer endurance. I feel agile and more confident. He doesn’t just work your body, he subtly gets into your head to break through your own personal ability bias and teaches you you can be faster and stronger. I’ve taken friends who would tell you the same. Athlete or not, DeShawn will make you faster, stronger, and mentally above your competition. He also has a conditioning class that is equally amazing.

I have been taking Boxing for Combat with DeShawn for four months at Studio X Fitness. I quit smoking almost a year ago and had gained a significant amount of weight when I began the class. Initially, my only goal was to lose weight by increasing my cardio activity, but after several months of class with DeShawn, I not only noticed a dramatic change in my body tone and energy level, but I found it to be the most invaluable«therapy» as well. DeShawn is a gifted motivator and has both pushed and aided me in conditioning my body and strengthening my core. I look forward to working hard with him weekly and as a person who has never enjoyed«working out» I feel that speaks volumes. So much so, by the way, that I have started taking his Proforce Boxing class as well as Boxing for Combat. I can’t wait to see how I look and feel 6 months from now!
