If there was an option for no stars, this location would deserve it. The service was very poor. All employees were rude and seemed annoyed.

This is a better version of subway. My partner and I came here and were really hungry. We split the big pizza sanwhich on whole wheat. It was a bit pricey for what it was, but it was really good. There WAS a cheese stretch, and that always wins brownie points with me. The meatball meat wasnt greasy or really gamey tasting. It was really simple with its seasoned flavor. The meatballs are always a make or break for me if theyre on a sandwhich. I highly reccomend this place for a quick bite of a classic sandwhich.

I kinda have to say… I did LOVE Potbelly Sandwich, it was my first eating experience stepping into Portland from Los Angeles. The sandwiches are served hot, and it’s a chain(not sure if local/regional or national). If you like Quizno’s, you’ll love Potbelly. There’s even a location at PDX(Portland Airport in terminal C) In the world of sandwich chains, I like Togo’s and Blimpies(‘tho have not found one in the So Cal area in the past 2 decades). I am okay with Subway, as the barometer for being average /mediocre, but doable. I’m not a huge fan of Jersey Mike’s. I’ve not had Which Wich Sandwiches(yet). I felt that Quizno’s was okay, maybe on par with Subway. So, in that context, I’d put Potbelly up there with Togo’s in my book. I bought a 6″ and regretted not getting the 9″ it was that good. I had the A-Line meat sandwich, which was very tasty.

This potbelly provides great tasting sandwiches that make my stomach and tongue say yum. They provide good, quick service for sandwiches that give me energy instead of wanting to take a nap afterwards.

I don’t know why this place gets great reviews. Had the italiano sandwich… first lady making it had a personality of a cold nail… and seemed put out. Now onto the sandwich, very little meat, was so thin the bread met together and you couldn’t see anything, furthermore bread was kind of dry, one little piece of cheese, …Subway makes a better sandwich, and that is not saying much. Also had the coffee shake, it was ok(didn’t taste like coffee though) and the guy who made it didn’t mix it right, and it was all milk on the outside and a lump of ice cream in the middle. Giving it 2 instead of 1,…because it wasn’t horrific… just very disappointing.

I wasnt too impressed with my meatball sandwich(dont ask why i have a strange like for them). just seemed on the smaller side for what it was. My friend seemed to enjoy her italian. the two locations closest to me are in great locations and walking distance to both if you’re downtown. I definitely will be going back to try something else out. They have a few sandwiches that seem to fit my taste.

Sandwich was good, girl at the cash register was rude. I’d suggest putting someone behind the register who isn’t outright mean to the customers.

You tell them what you want on your sandwich 3 times, i guarantee they will mess it up.

A good sandwich shop. Fresh food, fast and friendly service. I got a turkey sandwich only. Gets busy but they are quick as I mentioned. In a good downtown location.

Excellent! Oh man! I was craving a French Dip sandwich and unfortunately they didn’t have one. They did however have a selection of hard-to-choose-between sandwiches. I got the Big Italian with every veggie but tomato. Light mayo, light mustard on regular bread. Oh did I mention the staff working was very helpful? High five. The sandwich was amazing. I got chips and a drink. STUFFED. I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends. The prices are fair and the food is hot and delicious. Eat here if you want a good sandwich.

Skipped breakfast as I slept in and had no time for one. By my bus stop conveniently situated was a sandwich shop, and I decided to walk in and out in five minutes. I got whole wheat square which was perfect size for me, and chose eggs, sausage, and cheese with onion and salsa topping all for $ 3. I finished it right on time as bus arrived :) Service was fast and friendly. Next time I skip a meal I may walk in and add more veggies for topping. It was so warm and juicy — lot better than Subway. Next time I hope to sit at a table and relax.

We were disappointed that they don’t have breakfast items(such as oatmeal) other than sandwiches. Which is a Potbelly policy. Locally they have good service and the place was neat.

This was one of our favorite sandwich shops while living in Chicago. In every store in Chicagoland the place was packed. Not in Oregon. I’ve yet to see the line cue filled. Come on Oregon, give this place a try. You won’t regret it. My favorites are the smaller versions of the sandwiches.

The pros: superfast service, cheap, nice airy interior with lots of space, sandwiches come hot by default. The cons: generic sandwiches, not many customization options, tastes like Subway. I went to Potbelly for lunch and ended up eating the other half of my sandwich for dinner, so if you’re looking to eat on a budget this is a good place to go. The sandwiches are big(especially if you order the uninspiringly-named«Bigs») but not big enough to make you stop and go «damn, that’s a big sandwich!» I went with the multigrain bread – the only other choice being white – and it tasted the same as Subway’s bread. I went with a turkey and cheddar sandwich with lettuce, pickles, onions, mayo and italian seasoning, and it tasted like Subway’s turkey, cheddar, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayo and italian seasoning. On the plus side, I didn’t feel like I’d let the contents of a dump truck get emptied into my guts like I always do after Subway, so Potbelly has that going for it, which is nice.

I’m super bummed that I just tried this for the first time last week. I’ve been frequenting another unnamed sandwich place when downtown because I wanted something quick, mildly healthy, and tasty and now, I have found the perfect place! Initially, I wasn’t expecting much because I thought it was . So many of them and the results vary greatly. Upon entering, I see they have a slim menu combo available that includes a sandwich(a little less bread, meat, and cheese) and a cup of soup(lentil, turkey sausage, and kale) and hope for the best. This was the perfect lunch for a rainy, dreary Portland afternoon. The warmed sandwich was just enough and the soup was incredibly flavorful, especially with the bit of turkey sausage. The only sad thing now is that I have to go downtown to enjoy it again! Totally worth it.

I really am a fan! I have been enjoying Potbelly for years. When the Chicago Midway Airport was remodeled Potbelly was one of the local vendors that went into the food court. I can’t recall how many years ago it was, but suffice to say it’s been a while. Coworkers picked up a sandwich for me along with their order, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Luckily they expanded and are now here in Portland. I love the fact that we have so many excellent local sandwich shops to choose from, but many times I want something fast and not in the $ 10+ range. Potbelly is a huge step above Subway or other sandwich chains. Their turkey is thin sliced, and isn’t pressed meat full of fillers. That stuff makes me gag. The bread is soft and fresh, and the sandwiches are toasty with nicely melted cheese. I don’t know about you, but melted cheese on my sandwich hits the spot. Then there is the giardiniera. The pepper and vegetable mix is what will get me here when the craving hits. It’s addictive. If you ask at the register they will give you an extra little cup. All of this for $ 5. They have an OK selection of chips including Zapps, home made soups, and fresh baked cookies. I haven’t tried the shakes, but they’re hand scooped, so they should be good. The cookies are always fresh. The dream bar is my favorite of the bunch. I wish that they had a larger delivery area. With only a $ 15 minimum, it’s a pretty sweet deal. You can also order online and pick up at the register. Even if you see a long line they are really efficient and friendly, so you can be in and out quickly.

I work downtown and only just recently visited this establishment for the first time. I’m crazy to not have visited this sandwich shop earlier. The employees are helpful and I saw smiles from beginning to end. This visit is how all first time visits should be! I didn’t know what to order and to not hold up the line, I ordered what I knew I would like. I saw ham and cheese and was good to go. The official name was«The Hammie» and it just so happens to be one of their lighter(skinny) sandwiches. I was totally fine with fewer calories and paying less. With the new year and all, it fits my resolutions to try something new, be healthier, and save money. The next stop was to put the add-ons to the toasted sandwich. I got the usual fixings and was ready to pay and devour! The sandwich was toasted to perfection and for being a «skinny» sandwich, I was quite content and full. Their normal sandwiches don’t cost that much more(less than $ 6) and would probably put me in a food coma. Potbelly is spacious and is a corner street shop which makes it good for those solo people-watching lunches. I had a blast eating my meal and watching two tourists looking confused and wandering the same street multiple times.

This was my first experience with Potbelly and it was good. Not my favorite, and I hear everyone rants about it so I wanted to see what the hype was. I had the tuna salad sandwich. It was good, but not the best. I like that they tell you calories(and I believe that’s a requirement for chains now). The service was really fast for how busy it was. I’d go here again to try something else.

If you know Potbelly, you know Potbelly. Little sandwiches, little price, big tastes. I have written about some of their stores in Texas, but it’s been awhile since I’ve been to one and I was downtown heading to work and wanted to grab a bite before I started my shift. Potbelly works. Gotta have lots of their hot pepper mix(giardiniera), it makes the sandwich to me. They used to have size options on sandwiches, but I guess they got rid of that, back to the simplicity of one size. White or wheat. They also have many salad options, which I’ve had before. The Wreck is a menu staple. Salami, turkey, roast beef and ham with Swiss cheese. Simple and it works. Add from a list of items and it makes one good looking sub. I do believe they are a better quality sub than either Subway or Blimpie(if they are even in this area) The pepper mix sets them apart. You can purchase the peppers too for only $ 6.95. If you can’t make it yourself, pick some up. It’s worth it. Enjoy.
