At the Portland Doula Collective we provide emotional and physical support to women through their pregnancy, birth, and beyond. We believe it is important for women to have access to resources and information regarding their birth choices and to be empowered to make informed decisions during this time. We feel that women have the ability and right to have the type of birth they desire and we are committed to working with you toward this goal
History
Established in 2009.
The Portland Doula Collective was started in 2009 by a group of women with a passion for pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood.

Our birth doulas have a wide range of personal experience and have been trained and certified at Birthingway College of Midwifery. Our training has prepared us for all types of birth. We attend hospital, birthing center, and home births, births attended by both midwives and obstetricians, as well as both medicated and unmedicated births. We have worked with clients utilizing a wide array of birthing techniques including Birthing From Within, hypnobirthing, and Bradley techniques, among others. On our doula pages, you can read additional details about what inspires each of us. We take pride in our ability to communicate effectively with both clients and caregivers to help facilitate a positive birth experience. We hope the information in these pages will provide you with a basis for choosing a primary doula that suits your individual needs.
