Description

Specialties

We offer fresh American cuisine inspired by the great NW, with distinct attention to the seasons and a contemporary flair. PR features a unique underground dining room and bar, and above street patio dining when the weather permits. The dining room is contemporary and intimate, decorated in various shades of pink, and lit with a mélange of candles and floor lights. The product is a quaint and comfortable space, which is often described as a ‘modern speakeasy.’ Live music is featured Thursday through Saturday evenings on the outdoor patio, and inside in the restaurant during the winter months. Weekend brunches include bottomless mimosas for $ 12. PR can accommodate small and large parties, special events, off-site catering, and box lunches.

History

Established in 2011.

The pink rose was one of the earliest roses to evolve, and are dominant among wild roses. They exist in various shades of pink, from the palest blush to the deepest crimson. While other colored roses may have specific meanings, pink roses carry connotations of grace, gratitude, friendship, and poetic romance. Today, pink roses represent elegance and refinement, and communicate sentiments of thanks and admiration. In a search to develop a restaurant that truly embodies the spirit of the city of roses – we found the pink rose.

Meet the Business Owner

Adan H.

Business Owner

Adan Heller grew up in Los Angeles county of southern California. As an only child to a single working mother, Adan began cooking as an alternative to T.V. dinners. He soon found a passion for creating interesting dishes and sharing them with his mother, family, and friends. After moving to Portland in the late 90’s, Adan eventually moved in to the restaurant and food preparation business. He was brought on as a bartender for the pre-opening of the Portland City Grill where he helped to design the layout of the bar, and the drink menus. After helping to open a couple of other well-known downtown Portland restaurants and bars, Adan began to develop his own idea for a restaurant. He envisioned a business that not only served creative and fresh cuisine, but that also provided a small and intimate dining experience, reminiscent of his time cooking as child for his family and close friends. This vision turned in to the Pink Rose restaurant.
