Great local store with a great selection of toys. My 2year old loves to play with all the toys they have out when we stop in.

In the world of boutique toy stores in Portland, this is by far my favorite. I think it is the only one that does not price toys over MSRP. You can find here lots of fun and smart toys (magnetic toys, summer toys) in addition to your run of the mill Lego, Playmobil, Melissa & Doug.
They have a simple to use reward program and seem to be genuinely interested in helping a parent or a child find the prefect toy, gift or activity.

I love this small toy store with high-​end toys lots of wood and special toys that make people want to migrate to the store. I absolutely love that they give frappé for free and it always feels good and pleasant when I walk
kids love the Saturday crafts and I love that I can walk across the street to Starbucks and then go over with the kids and look at toys they will stay in there for hours if I let them. The employees are very very nice and kid friendly as well which makes it even more desirable location.

I have nothing but compliments for this store. I have shopped for gifts for bday parties, xmas gifts and they are wrap everything in minutes and normally have some high quality items even made in the USA– whoo hoo. They are sometimes pricey, but for convenience, quality and having everything is wrapped it’s worth it. Occasionally you do find a less than helpful cashier or one with an attitude, but let’s face it we all have our good moments and bad moments and sometimes it’s hard to find people with good customer skills, but the majority of the staff are rockstars. THANK YOU for Piccolo Mondo for saving me a million times and I am bummed I am moving and won’t have you in my neighborhood.

I liked the store, it has a large variety of toys and games that I could see myself needing to get, without going to toys r’ us. Free giftwrapping is great, and they have an easy rewards program and offer calling service if something you want comes in.
I did have a problem with my first visit which was a bit perplexing, I was searching for items to get my one year old niece, but after looking thoroughly through the whole store, I found nothing. I then realized I had been there half an hour and none of the three ladies behind the counter had asked if I needed help. I didn’t know if I was supposed to actually go up there and say that I needed help, or if they just weren’t paying much attention. Being such a small store, there was no way they didn’t notice me, so I just assumed they aren’t supposed to come over and help (There was actually barely over three people shopping the entire time I was there). The next two visits were the same thing, but I didn’t stay that long. I have a slight social anxiety and having to go up to the counter to trouble someone is hard for me to do– I would much rather wait until someone had free time and noticed me. Oh well.
The prices are a bit steep, I found a few things for my girl but they were wooden educational play toys that were almost twenty dollars… the wood itself was unpainted and simple, from a factory line. The other blocks I looked at were also wooden and also too expensive, I ended up not buying anything. The last visit I did find a few children books and ended up getting those for her, but I wasn’t able to find a decent education toy without the steep price.

Piccolo Mondo has saved our birthday bacon on more than one occasion. Recently we got a rather last minute birthday invite, and off I went with Princess in tow, giving her a price limit in the car on the way.
Instructions to Princess” we are not shopping for you today, Choose a gift, a card, and something to tie on top for less than thirty dollars, and we’re done. IN and OUT. «

Ok, she said, staring at the Star Wars Lego on the way in with longing and some despair.
I have to say, they know how to place things in that store, for sure. Good marketing.
Princess picked out crafty items (some kind of kit, a book, some pipecleaner thingys, and a cute eraser, and a card with kitties) and it was wrapped by the nice teenage kid behind the counter like hey presto! and we were out the door with gift in ten minutes.
Whew.

This is a great little toy store. They have a lot of cool toys you won’t find at Toys R’ Us or Target, plus a lot of main stream stuff. They gift wrap for free and have a loyalty program that is really easy to maintain (no cards in your wallet).
Cool thing I found out last trip is that they have a board game library you can borrow from so you can try before you buy.

Yes, they’re more expensive than Amazon, but I’ve never had an Amazon representative come up to my kid and say, «Oh, you like (that toy)? You’ll LOVE this one!» and direct him to another toy (that was less expensive). Their «game checkout» is wonderful — you can checkout a game like a library book, play for a week and decide if you want to buy it. Lots of cool, interesting toys.
This is not Toys R Us with a bunch of blinging lights and the latest toys — it’s a toy shop that specializes in toys you *want* your kids playing. We discovered the Nano Bugs there a few years ago, and some games we couldn’t find anywhere else. The staff is helpful & friendly, and the store is divided into helpful sections (games, science, young girls, young boys, etc.). If you sign up for their rewards program, they’ll send you catalogs with great coupons (20% off, etc.) and keep you updated on new offerings.

Love the quality and variety of toys. Also found a cute baby gift to take to a shower. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

Love this toy store! They have the best selection of creative and innovative toys and games, in all price ranges. We buy a crazy amount of Playmobil here. They have almost everything. Great place to go for birthday presents because they wrap the presents for free (and I’ve never seen them do a bad job), and they have fun, inexpensive favors for the top of the gift.

Great toy selections, if you have been to the bethany location you know this is a great store.

We went based on a friend’s recommendation and I’m so glad we did! We have no kids so we had no idea what to get for a 1 year old baby girl. The lady who helped us (the owner) knew exactly what babies like to do in different stages and gave us several recommendations. They even wrapped it beautifully for free!
6 months later the baby’s sister had a birthday too… she was turning 4. We didn’t even waste any time going to other stores looking for gifts — we went straight to Piccolo Mondo and asked for help and voilá! We got recommendations and showed up at the birthday party with the appropriate (and fun) gift for a 4 year old girl.
I heard they’re opening a new store by Progress Ridge, I can’t wait to go!

Was really impressed with the variety of toys across the ages that Piccolo Mondo has! The prices are right, and they have great travel toys and a good balance between toys geared toward girls and boys. My favorite part? If you sign up on their mailing list, you can check out their games for a week at a time! As a family that LOVES board games, I love the idea of trying out an interesting looking game before you buy. We’ll definitely be returning!

I sooo love this toy store, I go here for birthday gifts. They have great quality toys, and a wonderful wrapping service. It doesn’t get much better than this, theres also coffee and cupcakes across the parking lot. Hard to beat.

I have been a customer here for sometime now, they have nice toys and they have done fund-​raising for the local school. Very friendly customer service, I give them a thumbs up for sure. I always find myself admiring some toy (s), I think i need to go shopping for myself next time, and i will ask them to gift wrap it for sure.

I’m an avid fan of telling everyone I know when I find a business that I love. Piccolo Mondo is my #1 toy store. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. They are enthusiastic about their merchandise and have personal experience with many of the products. They are always eager to demonstrate or show me something else that I might like. Their prices are fair for a small business plus they gift wrap for free. Another surprise «perk» is that they have a customer appreciation program. For every $ 200 dollars you spend, you receive a $ 10 gift certificate (I hope that is correct). IMO, I save time and money in the end and I feel really satisfied that I purchased just the right gift. Not only does the customer service rock, the products are unique and of good quality. I could shop there for hours looking at all the cool stuff. You can’t find most of their products in the big box stores. Lastly, Piccolo Mondo generously supports community schools!

Piccolo Mondo is everything a toy store should be.
They have a wonderful and knowledgeable staff and their toy selection is globally varied and exceptionally different.
They have been my go-​to store for birthday presents since they opened. Gotta love their complimentary gift wrapping service. I also love their community spirit and their support of local schools and fundraisers.

This toystore overcharged me for a toy. When I called to complain, they told me I had to go all the way back to their store to get the situation fixed. They didn’t even ask what toy it was so they could fix it in their system.
I also shopped their website before going because I had limited time and wanted to get in and out quickly. They didn’t have one of the toys on the site and didn’t know what I was talking about when I described it.
Having to either arrange childcare or else drag my kids into a toy store where they aren’t getting anything is pure torture right now, not to mention the drive out there. Any toy store worth visiting should be able to fix an overcharge without a visit back.
