Where has this company been all my life? For the past 3 years I have had a terrible infestation of Petes in my neighborhood. I have called dozens of exterminators however none of them have been able to take up this task. However «Pete’s Pest Control» was ready for the job. They are highly certified Pete experts ready to serve you around every corner. Within 20 minutes they removed every single Pete from my neighborhood and for a very low price! 3 of the Pete’s are threatening to sue me for harassment. I have been forced to move to move out of my neighborhood because I am a alleged sex offender (different story we will get to that later). Either way although the result of my business with «Pete’s Pest Control» will overall end with me in the slammer, I am still very pleased with the time and effort they put into to making my neighborhood Pete free!

We recently purchased a home in the FoPo neighborhood. We had some work done and had apparently disturbed an existing ant colony. They were all over our kitchen and beginning to make their way into other areas of the house. On top of that, we also had a spider problem, both in the house and the garage. I called Pete’s Pest Control based on their Unilocal reviews. I am so glad I did! Not only were they able to schedule an appointment for that same week, but Pete himself came out to our home. He explained everything he was going to do and what materials he was going to use. Our concern was our pets, one of which was a new puppy. Pete uses only organic materials that are not harmful to cats or dogs. I can confirm that those organic materials were highly effective. We have not seen a single ant since his visit and the spiders are gone as well!
I can’t recommend Pete’s highly enough!!!

Pete was right on time, he explained exactly what he was going to do to get rid of my two yellow jacket nests at my house. He did his job and the problem was solved same day with a 90 day warranty. Pete also provided some free mole advice. Pete rocks!

One of the worst pest control companies I have ever hired.
If I could give 0 stars I would.
They take a large sum of money upfront then horrible follow up.
The quality is pretty poor to boot. Petes idea of rodent proofing is spray foam for crying out loud. There were visible tears in the screens around the venting of our subfloor and at first Pete said he would replace the screens with new durable galvanized steel ones only later to fill with spray foam and caulk only. I also specifically asked Pete not to spray around my brand new garage doors — and sure enough — he actually sprayed near and on my garage doors.
They missed numerous appt’s — one time it was a car accident another Time it was «the technician has the flu» or our employees quit etc etc… blah blah blah.
The most recent visit today — I specifically asked numerous times to please email ahead of time so I could add to my calendar, no email but a surprise phone call in the middle of the day announcing they would be over shortly.
I would not trust this company at all. Above all I will never be fooled by a company that asks for all the money upfront and I would caution others against this mistake too especially with Petes.

Pete was awesome– honest, respectful, and an all around good guy! I called for my elderly neighbor who had some paper wasps bugging her and wanted to get a professional opinion and also wanted to get her entire outside inspected. Pete reassured her that everything was just fine and walked her step by step through the entire inspection! Thanks Pete for being an upstanding citizen.

I called them since it is best rated in Unilocal in Portland area. I am very much impressed with their great customer services and consideriness for the customers!

Pete’s customer service is absolutely amazing — I don’t even know how better to say it. It’s the kind of service that you used to get before companies were only worried about the bottom line. Pete’s not only does high-​quality work, but they care about their customers. They respond quickly, give great advice, and most importantly — they get rid of unwanted pests effectively.
Pete’s uses environmentally responsible products, and never once have my dog or chickens been hurt by those products — they’re animal-​safe. In short — if you’re searching for a company to help you with a pest problem, Pete’s is the best you’ll find in the Portland area.

Boy do I regret my previous review. I tried to restablish care after moving from house to apt and back to new house. They do not take apts more than 2 weeks in advance and rather lose my business than try to schedule. (I’m trying to coordinating service with cleaners/​keys/​carpet/​movers/​travel for sick grandmother in hospital). 2 years ago I was told I they would miss me as a long standing customer. Guess not. Therefore I’m taking my business elsewhere.

We live next to a forested green space with a stream. Beautiful yes but with lots of critters and insects. After 8 stressful years, I finally called an exterminator to rid me of the sugar ants that had plagued our home on and off, marching through the kitchen, bathrooms and just about anywhere they pleased no matter how clean the surfaces or how well I packed away the food.
Pete’s has been absolutely wonderful. The first time they came out our technician sprayed the baseboards and around the windows and the outside. In a few days there were less ants. I was thrilled! However, in about 2 ½ — 3 weeks I started to see ants again, although not as many and the ants were definitely «effected.» Zombie ants! I called Pete’s. Turns out it was a «surge.» Little by little I saw less and less ants and finally none at all. What a relief! I can’t believe I didn’t do this years ago. I had no idea how reasonable cost-​wise it would be. We’ve asked Pete’s to come out quarterly to spray outside our home.
2 weeks ago while we were refinishing one of our decks I noticed a bit of carpenter ant damage. I freaked! And, saw a few carpenter ants. Of course, I called Pete’s. Pete’s had just done the first quarterly treatment. I wanted the tech to come out and treat for carpenter ants. I practically begged him. He explained he didn’t need to. The treatment for the sugar ants would be enough. How honest is that? I cannot recommend this business high enough.

THE BEST SERVICE. Pete is a friendly, informative guy, extremely fair and I would not hesitate for a minute to hire his company again. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would. He totally solved the termite problem. The termites have never returned and he happily does follow up treatment. I really can’t recommend him enough. Thanks Pete!

As of now 5 stars. Pete’s Pest Control was able to book me the next day from when I made the call. I called for Ant treatment in Beaverton in my new home. The exterminator was very knowledgeable and friendly. ?He sprayed down the home and exterior and within the first day, we saw less and less ants. It’s been about two weeks and we haven’t seen any ants inside the home.
They do carry a 90 day warranty as that’s how long the chemical is supposed to last.
Would recommend for Ant treatment.

Awesome! they are professional, customer service oriented, accommodating, flexible, knowledgeable and efficient! I’ve had mice and ant problems for 2 years! First trip out, they did the mouse and ant service. They came back weekly for a month to check on the mice. after 2 weeks, no more mice, at 30 days, just a few straggler ants so they sprayed those areas again. 1 week later, no ants. been ant free and mouse free for over a month now! the interior spraying was much easier than I thought it would be… safe for me and my dog, no smell, can’t see it and it really works! we only had to be out of the house for about 30 minutes. When there was a mix up with one of my appts, Pete himself came out after hours on a work night because it was the only time I was available and then he gave me a discount. amazing service. they know their stuff. highly recommend them!

The service was fast and painless. We had it done last Saturday and I haven’t seen a single ant. Though we were warned they might not all be gone, they ARE! Even once we left canned cat food out on the floor all night. No ants.
I like that the technician wasn’t a hard sell on Pete’s services. He told me all there was to offer, but I didn’t feel pressured to buy.

They are very prompt in their service. I had a minor issue with the technician however Pete responded within minutes to my concern. Also you can’t beat a 6 month warranty on work performed. Would hire again.

Let me be clear right off the bat, I never even met anyone from Pete’s in person but I loved Rhonda. Here’s a fun story for everyone, it also involves Pest Solutions and Ohana Pest Control.
It was right before 6 in the morning on a Saturday when I woke up and found a very small bug on me and immediately freaked out. I got up and stripped the entire bed searching for signs of bed bugs as I had found another of the same bug a couple days earlier and had what looked like bites on my neck. So I researched pest control specialists because in my mind there was nothing else it could be. My boyfriend and I had just moved in two weeks prior so I figured we picked them up from the moving truck or something like that. The first I contacted was Pete’s because of the perfect 5 star rating. Rhonda called me back before they were even really open and told me that she couldn’t have anyone else out until Monday but if I was sure, I could just schedule the treatment. I told her I’d look at other pest control specialists in the area and see if someone could help me today. She immediately sent the «Pest Control Proposal» pdf that the company uses for bedbugs as well as how to prepare for a bedbug treatment and told me to be sure that they’re doing everything right. I read those through and began washing and drying everything I could fit in the washer on high heat and then immediately bagged it.
In the meantime, I contacted Ohana Pest Control and Pest Solutions as they were the next highest rated on Unilocal in the area. Jeff from Ohana called me promptly at 9am, and said he could come check out the apartment for an inspection within a couple hours. When he arrived, he found absolutely no signs of bed bugs but told me he figured I wouldn’t be able to contact anyone since it was Saturday and wanted to come out and give me peace of mind. He was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He also told me that he used to work with Pete of Pete’s Pest Control and recommended using them if they could treat on Monday, if not he would treat on Tuesday.
In the meantime of that experience, I was in contact with Eric from Pest Solutions via email and text. I sent him pictures of the bug I found and put in a plastic bag and sent it to him. He said it looked more like lice but Jeff from Ohana said it was in fact a bed bug. I was confused but Eric was very helpful and willing through text even while he was on a business meeting. I decided I’d wait it out and just prepare to do the treatment on Monday/​Tuesday. My boyfriend was out of town for this whole thing which made it worse. I planned to go to target to get a vacuum and plastic bags to seal everything but decided to take a quick shower. It was in the shower that I realized it wasn’t bed bugs, but instead lice!
So basically, Pete’s Pest Control, Ohana Pest Control, and Pest Solutions were all willing to go out of their way to help a non-​customer and that really spoke to me. As far as effectiveness of treatment goes, I have no way to tell that information but it seemed as though Pete’s would have been most effective given his experience and recommendations. If you want a smaller more attentive specialist, I would recommend Ohana since Jeff was so nice and used to work with Pete. Overall it seems everyone in the pest control industry is very pleasant and all 3 are getting 5 stars.

I have rental property where tenant reported signs of mice. Settled on Pete after reading Unilocal reviews. Setting appointment was easy and professional. FFF .i don’t understand why this part is so hard for many contractors. Pete (the admin really) set confirmation email with details (again, simple thing to do but most other contractors do not).
I’m actually still in middle of treatment process but he seems super professional. While there, another tenant mentioned ants and Pete said he would just take care of it for free when he came back to followup for the mice.
I have other rental properties and Pete has won my business.

Originally they came by to eliminate spiders and centipedes. Afterwards small ants came up in the kitchen area. In addition we are about to have family over for Xmas in 2 weeks. I emailed Pete’s and Rhonda called me back ASAP. I told her my plight and she was gracious enough to give us a courtesy follow up to get of rid the ant problem. This is what I call customer service! Highly recommended.

Pete was spot on. I used a different company to eliminate my huge carpenter ant problems and all they did was drill about 10 tiny holes in my bathroom! Once that area was sprayed with solution they left.
Problem was that it didn’t kill the ants the Ants just started to come out of other places. And the guy who sprayed didn’t tell me not to kill the ants. Killing the ants after treatment allows the poison carriers to take is back to the queen!
So when I wasted my money on this other company that is when I found Pete’s! Pete himself came out and looked all around the house something the other company didn’t do.
Then he looked all inside. Once again the other dude just asked where the ants where seen that is it.
Then Pete explained the whole process of carpenter ants and how his solution would rid my house of ants!
Without even drilling holes he sprayed the outside and even the inside. I have kids and a dog so whatever he used was not toxic to them!
Once he did both in and out he told me not to kill the ones I saw! Even though it was hard to do not to kill them guess what after about 6 days or so slowly I saw less and less and eventually didn’t see any! Now Ian ant free! Thanks Pete!!!

First off, let me be clear — I have not actually hired Pete’s Pest Control. Even so, if I ever WERE to hire a pest control company Pete’s would be *THE* company I would go with.
Why?
Over the years of living in my home, I’ve had numerous door-​to-​door folks come by trying to sell me on their pest control services. They make a compelling argument — your neighbors are getting pest control done, and the insects therefore will not be going into the deathtrap, but instead look for a new home… my home apparently, as it’s not protected.
And, I’ve always politely declined, year after year… Until this summer. My wife stated her thought about possibly getting pest control this year… Apparently the door-​to-​door folks must have a bug in our house as one showed up shortly after that conversation. I spoke with the person for a while but ultimately stated my wife would be making the decision and to have them come back when she was home. And come back they did. They really pushed hard for the sale, but ultimately we declined.
It was at this point I decided to look-​up reviews for pest control companies… said company had no reviews in PDX, but in other parts of the nation it was BAD! I happened upon Pete’s however… 5*… I couldn’t believe it. Surely the reviews must have been shills. But, I decided to email Pete’s.
I got a quick response back with some basic info. No high-​pressure tactics, etc. We decided to pass on the whole pest thing…
Then about 2-​months later I saw some weird bugs on my property — one on the garage door, and another on the patio. I took a pic and e-​mailed it to Pete’s. They replied back stating it was a common earwig and nothing to worry about. They then wrote back a short while later asking some more questions and ultimately guided me to purchase some insect spray at Fred Meyer and resolve the situation myself.
I never paid Pete’s a DIME, they never tried talking me into their services, and were in-​fact directing me to take care of what they said is a non-​issue by myself — NO money going to them. (Well, unless they somehow have ownership in Fred Meyer or Ortho.)
Their demonstration of putting even non-​customers first is far and above what the door-​to-​door folks do with their high pressure tactics… As such, I have to give Pete’s a 5* rating.

I tried getting through to other pest control businesses and no one was willing to have me visit an office and have them look at a bug I found that looked like a bedbug… Most of them were ditsy call center people out of state
This place was the only place where I talked to a local office and who was willing to help
Within about thirty minutes I got a call back from Pete who identified the critter and give me the good news that it was nothing to worry about — he did this without having to be paid, insisting on trying to schedule a home inspection or even demand to collect more context information
