One of the worst Chinese buffets I’ve ever eaten at. The selection is extremely limited and the meat is low quality. Don’t do it.

There are a lot of things you have to understand about how people rate things to understand why I’m giving this a 5 star and so many people gave it a worse rating. I’ll give a detailed work-through of my experience. The first thing I noticed when I came through, was a broken window on one of the doors, shattered window, bad sign in my opinion. walked in and on a Friday night I noticed one girl walking around, now to me I see one girl dealing with plates, and cashier, and I see the cook in the back looks a lot like an older version of this girl I think family owned. Now to me that’s always something I find commendable. Again after that, I notice that the carpets kind of dirty. and the shudders, a few of them are twisted the wrong way. Now I was once told at my college, that there is a no pen drink policy. The reason for this is that every spill works out to around $ 200 to clean up. Imagine being, I don’t know, a family owned buffet. Now you’re this family owned Chinese buffet, and at dinner time you are charging $ 7.95. How are you going to be able to have the floors cleaned every day for $ 200? also even if you DID clean the floors every day, this is Chinese food. This is some of the greasiest, sauciest food out there. This food is going to discolor your carpet. and that really isn’t your fault. So I rationally decided that it was a fairly clean floor, with a very discolored mat. Now for the prices. $ 7.95 for an adult, at dinner time. Now I happen to know that at lunch time there are different prices, and there are different prices for kids. This is cheap, no matter how you look at it. The cheapest Chinese I’ve ever had was 6,95 and that was for some white rice and chicken on top. This is an entire buffet. There is a wide range of foods here, and drinks are free. Even Izzies(an american style pizza buffet) you have to pay for drinks. This is a cheap meal. This is the overall best feature about the place, is the quantity and quality for the price. Now finally the food. It was delicious. Not every single thing here was super great. But understand, you have options. There were things that tasted store bought, but I only saw two people in the back, and I understand their struggle. The fish Fillet tasted like fish sticks, and the mash potatoes tasted store bought. Their Teriyaki chicken, Orange chicken, crab puffs, fried biscuits, pan potatoes MMMMMM. There were so much delicious foods at this place it was great. They kept the things that I loved constantly coming, they had shrimp and other just wonderful things. The selection wasn’t gigantic but it was good enough to have several new things for 3 different plates and some of my friends that went with me had even more things they thought were delicious, I just couldn’t eat another bite. TL: DR In conclusion this place was super delicious family owned restaurant, way to good for the 7:95 dinner price. The place looked like it was in need of a few repairs, but none of that mattered based on the food I was getting, even though not all of it was the best, there was enough choices for me to come there multiple times in a month, eat different things, and not get tired.

Your Average Chinese Buffet. Good BBQ Pork at lunch time. The price is a good value, very busy at lunch time & the food is fresh.

This is a cheap Chinese buffet. The restaurant doesn’t look very clean. There were children running around like the place was a playground. The food was greasy so I didn’t end up eating much. There wasn’t much selection. I won’t be returning here to eat.

I walked in and gave the lady $ 6.75, and when I walked out I wasn’t hungry or thirsty any more. The food was hot, there was a good selection, and for the price you can’t complain. If you do complain then just go someplace else and spend your 6.75.

My husband and I were in the mood for cheap Chinese food and thought we’d give the panda buffet a try. Needless to say, I will not be eating there again. A health inspector SERIOUSLY needs to be sent at random to this place because it was offensively disgusting on so many levels. Food smeared on walls, ground into the carpet, and«hot tea» that was Ice cold that had sat out for who knows how long. The sad thing was that the food I dared to eat was tasty. However, the taste of the food is probably thanks to their neighborhood friend Sysco.(They actually restocked food right at the buffet directly from Sysco containers! Classy!). To top it off the whole experience began with a lovely«you pay now», which implies to me that the owner knows how terrible it is and wants to make sure people pay before they find out for themselves. The wait staff was also unhelpful and unfriendly, and food was not restocked in an orderly fashion. If you like 6.5 $ all you can eat Chinese food and don’t fear food poisoning, the panda buffet is the place for you! Health inspector PLEASE do a surprise visit, at the panda buffet and save Portland the un-necessary food borne illness surely caused by this place.

Do your self a favor, don’t eat here. The price was great, especially since it is all you can eat & drink with dessert included for $ 6.75. But that’s where the good ends. The food was not fresh, even though we went around 6, when food should be rotating through quickly. On top of that it was ridiculously bland. I would bet money that they didn’t season anything! I got the sesame chicken(which was lacking sesame) with sweet & sour sauce. It tasted like they deep fried the chicken plain & dumped a ton sugar the sweet & not-so-sour sauce. When we sat down the white wall by our table was covered in smears, smudges & who knows what. There was literally ZERO customer service after the initial walk in & pay. I even had to ask«well do I seat my self or do you do that?» when the lady took my money but then gave me no further instruction. And lastly the food bar was not kept clean. Any good buffet has some one regularly going in & cleaning things, switching stuff out, tidying stuff & replacing dirty serving utensils. Not here. I feel sick to my stomach after that experience.

My family and I just had dinner here on Tuesday at 5 pm and we were satisfied. The egg drop soup was just as good as the soup that we pay $ 3.00 a cup in other restaurants. The Teriyaki chicken was tasty and plentiful. The beef and broccoli was a little short on beef but the broccoli was great, fresh and crisp. Soft drinks were included in the meal and the soft ice cream was cold and firm, enough to easily stack it four inches high, a lot better than what you can get at McDonald’s and as good as other soft ice cream vendors with much higher prices. To be objective on the down side management could clear the clutter from the cashier area, the first impression that you get upon entering. We thought that the people bussing tables were slow to clear them but when you keep prices as low as this restaurant does you can’t afford to hire more employees. Also, the finishes were dated and worn but, once again, the owners would have to charge more to make improvements like these more often. Despite these shortcomings we enjoyed our meal. There were only about seven tables dining so it was actually quiet and peaceful, a lot different from the lunch time rush that other reviewers have described. If we expected a Jin Wah Beaverton experience then we most certainly were going to be disappointed. At $ 6.50 apiece Panda Buffet is a great value. We’ll be coming back.

NO. Just… No. Do yourself a favor and skip this hole-in-the-wall place. I was around the area and couldn’t decide what the heck to eat. I don’t normally do buffets at all but hey… needed options. Their to-go was $ 2.49/lb. I made myself a salad and a small assortment of some chicken and what-nots. A lot of the food was out… or hadn’t been refreshed. Some items did not even look appetizing. As I already had a couple things in my to-go box I felt inclined to finish rather than throw the box down and run… which is what I should have done. I made a salad. Standard. Sweet & Sour chicken was standard and heavily breaded. The sauce was pretty thin. Egg foo young was a touch over cooked and the gravy was runny. Crab puff?! More like puff-puff. There was nothing inside it! It was puffed in the middle like there was filling but you take a bite and nothing, zilch, zero, nada! An hour after eating I feel totally sick. My stomach is on fire. NOGOOD.

This is our family go-to dinner place for years! The price is really affordable and the food is impeccable for the price you pay. Only $ 6 for all you can eat, even including drinks and ice cream– which is one of my favorties. I don’t know why people give such bad reviews as from what I know, this place is an authentic family run restaurant. I would recommend this to anyone who is around the area and looking for cheap good eats.

Like other reviewers I was told by a coworker that this place had pretty good, cheap food. I will never let that person choose a restaurant again. EVER. When you arrive, you pay upfront. Then you are let loose in the chaos of the restaurant. Children are running around like Lord of the Flies. Dishes are crashing around you. People are playing loud music from their cell phones. Then the food. I’d much rather forget about the food but unfortunately my stomach won’t let me. Most of the food was fried and the fried food was all batter and no meat. I bit into a piece of fried mystery meat and found there to be absolutely no meat inside(which may have been a blessing in disguise). The food that wasn’t fried was actually cold. I didn’t dare try the soup, but a cohort who braved the egg drop soup reported it tasted like cold dishwater. I did wish to try the beef and broccoli but all the beef had been taken and a chafing dish full of broccoli only remained. My coworker informed me this was par for the course. And of course, you are treated to traditional Asian fare such as… Fried chicken, jello, and soft-serve ice cream(with the machine covered in grease and filth). The beverages: there is a soda machine with Coke products. You are afforded a small red cup that holds about two gulps worth of drinks. Then you have to walk across the entire restaurant to get a refill. The service: I don’t believe they employ staff there beyond the person at the register and the people preparing food in the back. Surrounding tables were covered in dirty dishes that were not cleared the entire time I was there, nor were dishes removed from our table once they were no longer needed. Three of the four of us that ate there were pretty sure we would be getting food poisoning later that day due to the filthiness of the restaurant and the poor quality of the food. Two of us did experience adverse gastrointestinal distress later that day. Bottom line: Avoid this place at all costs. There are many better places to eat in the area. If you’re worried about money and want a cheap meal, I’d suggest the dumpster behind a better restaurant before going to this place.

I would agree with most all of these reviews. Only Chinese buffet around so I forced myself to go. Price was good, food was pretty subpar. Was old and dried out. Chicken was very low quality.

You get what you pay for, $ 6 lunch buffet is good if you grab what’s fresh. Salad with the amazing mandarin chicken is great! I have been to better Chinese buffets, but this vintage interior slow service buffet offers bang for your buck! On a budget eat here! Have an ugly sweater Christmas dinner with friends in this tacky place!

I give this place 2 ½ stars. Panda Buffet is a cheap destination for lunch, just under $ 6. The food is typical cheap buffet food. I was dragged here by a couple of friends who really like it. I had low expectations so I wasn’t disappointed or impressed. If you’re looking to stuff your face for cheap, then you’d probably like it here.

I really don’t see anything wrong with the place when I come here. It gets packed during lunch due to the cheap price and such but overall I think the food isn’t bad. I think the BBQ pork is a highlight of their buffet. It tastes pretty well compare with other regular Chinese restaurants. Everything was fresh. Brocolli Beef was tasty and the brocolli wasn’t limp. The green beans can be a hit and miss, but it’s not bad at all. You pay what you get for. I’m not grossed out by the place like some reviewers and I’m not impressed either. They obviously are doing some thing well since they’ve been in business for a while. And their low pricing always gets the placed packed. Some times you may have to wait for a seat. I really don’t mind this place at all. Some people do, but that’s their problem.

My co-worker lured us here by not telling us exactly where we were going for lunch. Should’ve known better! This place is definitely cheap — about $ 6 for lunch. Because it’s a buffet. A horrible, horrible buffet of terror. Egg Flower Soup? Blegh. Crab Puffs? Just puffs, no crab. Everything tastes… off. Just writing a review of it makes me shudder in terror so I must stop. And so should you — from going here.
