Palm Beach Tan

This is my first review, and unfortunately it isn’t a good one.
I really hate to write a negative review on a place I love so much.
Here’s the deal…
I have been tanning here off and on for many years.
I took a break from tanning and just started back up here at PBT a few months ago.
The second time I came in 2 lamps were out in room #5 which is a 20 min bed.
The room was very dirty including left over lotion on the bed from the previous tanner.
I told the girl at the front desk about it when I was done tanning and she assured me they would take care of it.
When I came back the next time, same story.
Lamps still out and room still filthy.
The next time I went I requested a different room that didn’t have lamps burned out.
They put me on room #5. I got a great tan from that bed. However the room was also filthy just like room #4.
Here’s what I mean by filthy.
Lotion splatters on the walls, the mirror has not been cleaned in days, cob webs all over the walls, garbage behind the bed, dust and gunk caked on the fan blades, hair and dust under the acrylics and the bathroom had not been cleaned at all that day.
When I did a spray tan the room was the same. Lotion all over the bottle from the previous spray tanner, over flowing garbage, the mirror was covered with Lotion and built up spray tan solution was everywhere.
I told the girl working about these issues and again was assured they would be fixed.
I finally came tanning and the manager Becky was working.
I took her to my room and showed her all of these things I have listed.
She told me that the last time their district manager was there he never said anything about needing to clean better.
She told me she would take care of it…
I told her I would be canceling my package if it was like this when I come in next time.
I also told her how many of her employees I have told about this issue.
I went in today…
Sameeee thingggg. I couldn’t believe it.
I called their corporate office and left s message regarding these issues.
I will be updating this review when I have heard back from them.

I came in to do some price comparisons with other salons in the area and this is definitely the best priced! The staff was incredibly helpful with lots of product knowledge and really felt like she cared about finding me the best package/​products for my specified needs. The salon was doctor-​office clean! I was impressed by their selection of of beds and they also had Versa Mystic and a stand up too!!! I Will definitley be back to sign up for a package.

Love the girls here! Very sweet and knowledgable! Salon is clean and parking is available in the lot next to kells.

Nice people and decent beds. I have the platinum membership-​or the highest one possible, so I can tan in any bed they have. I’m least impressed with the spray tanning or Mystic tan. The 1^st time I did it, I got great color but the smell lingered for days afterwards. The 2^nd time I did it, (the guy who set it up was new) the smell happened again, but I got ZERO color… I’m still going back though!

This is the absolute worst location. The girl behind the counter was rude, the rooms were gross and the bed made noises when I was in it. I felt like I was going to get an infection or a disease just by being there. I will never go to this location ever again.

PSA: Don’t go here!!! Bad Business Model! Why didn’t I read the reviews first?! And why haven’t they changed their model since getting these reviews?! The day before my wedding, I walked into Palm Beach Tan simple because of its proximity to where I was getting a pedicure with about 20 minutes to spare. The guy at the counter insisted that I should join their monthly membership program to get a cheaper price that day, and that I could cancel at any time. I should’ve known by the giant contract I had to sign that this was going to end up hurting me, but I was so pressed for time and stressed out over the millions of details in my 25^th hour of wedding planning, that I just needed to get that tan and get out. I’ve now been charged $ 25 a month since September, but I figured, hey, I’ll use those three tanning sessions at some point in the next year. But here’s the thing: the services expire each month, so if you don’t go in and get a tan each month, you’ve just poured $ 25 down the drain. I’m not a monthly tanning girl – just special occasions, and I explained this to the guy at the counter, but I was aggressively upsold regardless. When I called to cancel my membership, I was told they can’t do it over the phone and there was nothing they could do about the $ 75 I’ve poured into their business with no services in return. I hung up upset, then read these reviews, three of which speak to the same problem. I called back to ask why they wouldn’t change their model or be more accommodating to customers who felt misinformed in hopes of receiving better reviews and recommendations on Unilocal.With that second phone call, I was given one free tan in March. So I still lose $ 50, I still have to go into a salon to cancel my membership if I want to stop being charged (hopefully that will do the trick considering a previous review where a woman continued being charged even after she cancelled) When I referred to the bad reviews on Unilocal for this issue and suggested the employee at least pass on my dissatisfaction (as well as three other customers’ who wrote), she didn’t seem familiar with the reviews nor did she agree to convey my message to her supervisors. Instead, she just told me over and over again that this was policy and there was nothing she could do. Is there ever a more unsatisfying answer from a business than that? I asked to speak to a manager, but she did not grant me that request.

Same experience as other reviewer… went for a one-​time special occasion spray tan and my credit card has been charged for months now.
I’ve been in 3 times to ask them to please stop illegally taking my money, it just goes on and on.
There are plenty of tanning salons in the area — don’t set yourself up for this level of frustration!

Im movng to Tan Republic. Staff isnt very Friendly

This is the WORST Tanning salon I’ve EVER been to! They kept charging my credit card for months after I only tanned there for ONE MONTH!!! This whole business is such a scam and their prices are the highest I’ve ever paid– for terrible customer service and beds that are just ok. After convinving management that my card was charged wrongly, they take EIGHT WEEKS to refund your card. As in I last tanned in October and it’s almost Christmas and they STILL have my money with NO APOLOGIES-That’s their policy. This place is a joke-​Never ever go here!!! This is after talking to the manager twice fro 20 – 30 min of my wasted time-​and this is the best they can do? I have a call into corporate, but big suprise-​they haven’t called me back.

Super friendly staff. Very accommodating! I have recommended this place to a number of friends; ones that I want to keep! ;)

Will not go back. They are pushy and rude. They will try to lure you in with free tanning but then try to scam you. Not a pleasant experience.

Not as clean as the locations in DC, but it’s awesome to be able to travel and tan on my membership. Other places charge for this convience. The staff was also very friendly.

Tons of great specials with an incredibly knowledgeable staff. They try to upsell as much as possible, but some of these products are definitely worth it.
I would recommend making an appointment as it does get pretty busy in the evening.

I went here because I had a promotional coupon, and they totally won me over after just my first visit. The girl that helped me get my account set up was super knowledgeable and friendly. She took the time to actually get to know me and my skin type a bit… which is great because I have very sensitive skin and most people just throw me in a bed and let me burn, but not here. She explained all the products and equipment very thoroughly. I have been to many tanning salons and I believe Palm Beach Tan is the cleanest, friendliest and has the biggest selection of beds out of any place I have been to. They also have spray or «sunless» tanning which is awesome for someone like me who wants to protect my skin but still have that healthy glow.
