Established in 2001.

Optima Dental was established by Dr. Mo Saleh in 2001 in Lake Oswego, Oregon. In 2011 the current location in downtown Portland (Pearl District) was established.

Since most of us do not look forward to visiting the dentist, Dr. Saleh’s philosophy is focused on giving patients their best dental experience. His passion is to provide patients with the best in quality and service, and be a leader in innovation. Business Owner

Dr. Mo Saleh earned his Doctor in Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1998. He has since established a state of the art practice in Lake Oswego focusing on comprehensive, sedation, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

Soon after graduation, Dr. Saleh developed an unwavering commitment to learning the most advanced procedures and techniques in dentistry. He continues to broaden his skills and knowledge base through the completion of numerous advanced courses.

Dr. Saleh believes that a comprehensive approach to dental care translates to the ultimate care for his patients. Above all, he has unwavering commitment to give your dental anxiety and fear the same diagnostic attention as your teeth along with genuine compassion, care and understanding.

Mo Saleh DMD @ Optima Dental has an excellent chair-​side manner. My wife is very scared of the dentist, and of dental work in general, which means she has some significant decay on her teeth. This translates to very sensitive teeth and Mo was gentle touching and working in her mouth.
Plus, he took the time needed to discuss extractions, implants, and root canals. Which after my wife had done so much research about, it was lovely to get a response that felt informed, aware and conscious.
Also, our dental assistant, Laura V was extremely excellent. She checked with us before showing us teeth videos, and she was very gentle and good during the x-​rays. Thanks for a lovely experience ya’ll.
I recommend them.

Best dental experience ever. Yesterday was my first visit and I was taken care of VERY well. The dental hygienist did a great job taking my X-​Rays, and took the time to show me the X-​Rays and to explain the imaging to me. From there, she took actual pictures of my teeth for further clarification and her and I were able to discuss what I can change in my dental routine to improve my dental health.
After this process, she conducted a thorough cleaning of my teeth. She did a really great job and I felt no pain during the process.
The dentist was really really friendly and recommended some preventative care that I can do on my own to ensure that my teeth stay healthy.
At no time did they try to sell me or pressure me on frivolous procedures. I came in for a check up, X-​Rays, and a cleaning. That is exactly what I received.

Flashy place, horrible dental service. If you don’t want x-​rays, this place will pressure you into them. Worse, the dental assistant will take the x-​rays before the dentist even sees you to assess if they are needed. They were 30 minutes late and the entire basic cleaning took over 2 hours. The dental assistant asked numerous times for the dentist to come in and see me and he never showed up. Finally, I told them I had to leave for a conference call. The dentist rushed in and spent a total 3 minutes with me. This place is a joke. Don’t be fooled by the fancy waiting room.

Dr. Rima pulled my sister and I’s wisdom teeth today. She did a fantastic job. I was very scared and she did a really good job calming me down and I didn’t feel a single thing. Their assistant was also really nice and helped calm me down by telling me about when she got her wisdom teeth out. Everyone was really nice and comforting, they even gave us blankets while they did the extraction. Now, neither my sister or I feel any pain. Would highly recommend Dr. Rima or Dr. Mo for your next tooth extraction!

This office has a lot of luxury style amenities for patients including massage dental chairs, endless lattes and paraffin hand waxes. However, I strongly felt that although I had only come in for a consultation, I was being pressured into unnecessary procedures that were purely cosmetic. The staff was very nice but were also confrontational about pressing expensive dental care plans that I did not feel I actually needed.
Update: still haven’t been able to get my dental records from these guys, so shady…

Like so many, I have lived in constant fear of visiting the dentist. Not having the best care growing up, dental issues have compounded and forced me into the dental chair only out of sheer pain.
When I first came to optima dental almost 3 years ago, I was a nervous wreck in desperate need of an extraction, root canal and crown immediately. Dr Saleh’s staff took every opportunity to chat with me compassionately and comfort me as they could see my anxiety eating away at me in the waiting area. Dr. Saleh actually gave me almost 6 hours of sedation free (as I couldn’t really afford it) and said it was important to him that I trust him and feel comfortable. I have been coming back ever since, each time less anxious because of how incredibly wonderful, caring, thoughtful and genuine Dr Saleh, his wife, and their staff are.
Aside from their glowing personalities, they have every creature comfort you could ask for. Massage chair in the lobby, paraffin wax dip for your hands to soften and moisturize during your appointment, movie goggles so you can literally zone out while work is being done. As if they needed any of the bells and whistles, Dr. Saleh’s work truly speaks for itself. He is meticulous; an absolute perfectionist. I know when I have an appointment with him, he’s not going to settle for anything but perfection in his work. He’s gentle, and completely aware at all times of his patients needs; paying attention to the smallest of details. He once stopped working on me to grab a cotton roll to space between the bridge of my nose and my glasses because he said he saw that my safety glasses were pushing on my eyelashes. This is a far cry from the dentistry I’ve known in the past!!!
I cannot recommend this dentist highly enough!!! Not only has he restored confidence in my smile, but confidence in dental professionals. I am ever so thankful I found them!

I’ve been going to Dr Saleh for years and I’ve never been disappointed! After multiple surgeries and regular check ups I’ll never see another dentist! From front to back office the customer service is fantastic, all the staff is friendly and eager to help with positive attitude. Both office’s are clean and modern (I love the massage chair in the waiting area) they also offer light refreshments and snacks (but I’ve always been called right back!) each exam lane has a big screen tv so you can see your own X-​rays and and treatment plan. The movie goggles make the time fly by; your in and out before you know it and they’re a good distraction from what’s really going on;) I’ve never had a bad experience, I would definitely refer Dr Saleh and his office to anyone gladly!!!

I have never had good teeth, and therefore never liked going to the dentist until I came here! I am the type of person that no matter how many times per day I brush and floss I still get diagnosed with cavities. So when I came to see Doctor Saleh I had to get 5 filling, a crown replaced, and a skin graph for gum recession. This is a lot of work, even for me, so I got a second opinion from my parents dentist who has had many years of experience with my teeth and he agreed that all the work was valid and necessary.
I sat down with the consultant at Dental Dynamics and went through the costs and my insurance coverage and worked out a plan to maximize the insurance and space out the procedures. All said and done it took 3 visits over the course of 2 years in addition to my annual exams. The first visit they did 3 fillings, the nest they did 2 fillings and the crown, and finally the skin graph. The total out of pocket cost was about 500 for EVERYTHING!
Since completing this work in 2011 I have had ZERO cavities and no extra work needed! I actually look forward to going to the «spa dentist» as my mom calls it, because as soon as you walk in the door you are offered a coffee, tea, or sparkling water. They have paraffin wax for your hands, massage exam chairs, and movie goggles.

Went in to Dental Dynamics now Optima Dental and I must say this place is top notch. I had lots of work I needed done and went in to several consultations with different dental offices. Dr. Saleh was very welcoming and professional during my consultation and described in detail what my treatment plan would look like and exactly what needed to be done. I ended up getting implant supported dentures and I must say I never thought I would be able to have teeth I could rely on that were not my real teeth. The procedure went better then I ever imagined it would. Although, it did take a few appointments to get everything done Dr. Saleh and his team were always there to answer my questions and did their best to assure I was not in pain. Overall I can’t explain how happy I am that I decided to go to Dr. Saleh for my implants. Not only do I feel like I received top notch treatment, but I also now have a mouth full of teeth I’m not afraid to show off and finally be able to use! Great atmosphere, great doctor, friendly staff and terrific work.

I have required a lot of dental work on my teeth through the years. Dental dynamics has been great with working with my schedule and easing my nervousness towards the dentist. Their crowns are perfect and where else can u watch a 3d movie while getting a crown?

The office is very impressive. Massage chair, lots of bling. After a very fast ultrasonic cleaning (no hand scaling) and an extensive set of X-​rays, and an exam detailing how I needed tons of work done on my mouth, I was taken in to a private office (closing room) with an estimate. My insurance company had already been consulted and I needed to come up with several thousands of dollars or I was in big trouble… my insurance company was denying coverage on some of the work. I was given a bizarre «goodie» bag and sent on my way. I say bizarre because it included items more cosmetic in nature, like the lotions in a hotel room.
I left the office very upset with my insurance company and afraid of the work needed on my teeth that I couldn’t afford. I received phone calls from this dentist regularly and the hard sell was creeping me out… had a bad feeling about this dentist. A year and 9 months later a crown fell out of a molar so I made an appointment with a modest office out of the downtown area that could get me in right away. They had excellent reviews… father/​daughter set up. She reseated my crown and said after looking at the X-​rays they had just done, that everything else looked great. Needless to say, I was relieved and surprised. They made an appointment to get me in for routine cleaning and sent me on my way.
I would not recommend Dental Dynamics.

Dr. Mo Saleh is an amazing dentist! He transformed my smile! Not only this, but he is kind, comforting, and has a great sense of humor. All of the other staff are the same. Comforting, kind, cheerful, and all have great senses of humor as well. Dr. Saleh is officially my dentist now.

Beautiful office, friendly people, state of the art equipment, lattes, Perrier, movie glasses, and you get to pay for all of it! Amazingly their state of the art equipment was able to identify a ton of expensive work I needed done. I went in for a cleaning and because of some occasional gum pain and was told I immediately needed 2 crowns. So, I had the 2 crowns done and a week later I had to have a root canal done on one of them, so it became a nice 2 for 1 deal: 2 ridiculously large payments on 1 tooth… and that’s after insurance! Of course, they could have gone ahead and just done the root canal the first time but they have massaging chairs to pay for so let’s do the really expensive procedure first and see if that works, right?
UPDATE: My current dentist informed me the crowns that were done at Optima were not done correctly, as a result there is decay underneath them as gaps were left between the gum and the bottom of the crown. This is less than 3 years after the crowns were put on which also means insurance will not cover the replacement because it is too soon. Sometimes you get what you pay for but in this case it’s the opposite But hey, I got to wear some cool movie glasses during the budget killing procedures so I guess it wasn’t a total loss, eh?
