We are a private massage practice specializing in pre– and perinatal massage therapy, as well as massage for general relaxation, preventative care and wellness, injury recovery and relief from acute and chronic pain. Relaxation, stress reduction and relief from posturally induced pain and strain are the primary focuses of our prenatal and postpartum massage work. Through massage and client education we help prenatal clients minimize back, hip and pelvic discomfort resulting from their growing, changing bodies. Our postpartum work helps to promote structural realignment, ease postpartum stress and relieve strain related to newborn care.

Our mindful approach to bodywork is focused and effective, yet gentle and non-​intrusive. We incorporate numerous modalities into our practices including but not limited to deep tissue and Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, fascial work and craniosacral therapy.

History

Established in 2010.

Rachael started her private massage practice in NW Portland shortly after completing her massage training in 2006. In 2011 growth and expansion led us to our current office in the Hollywood District of NE Portland.

Annie and Claire both joined Nature of Body in 2015 and are also certified in pre– and perinatal massage therapy.

Drawn to the holistic healing community in Portland, OR, Rachael attended East West College of Healing Arts and completed an 801 credit hour curriculum in 2006. Since graduation she has continued to expand the breadth of her knowledge through continuing education and self study. Rachael specializes in working with women during pregnancy and has completed a 32-​hour certificate program in pre– and perinatal massage therapy.

Rachael holds a Biology degree from Portland State University. In addition to her massage practice, Rachael is also an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and works with Natural Latch Lactation Services.
