Was looking for a place to take my 2 year old son to have his vision checked. We hit the jack pot with Dr. Wojciechowski. He is awesome with kids! He made my son feel comfortable, makes the exams fun and is extremely patient. we are so lucky to have found him and his staff!

I love this place! I’m lucky that it’s my neighborhood eye doctor. The staff are super helpful and pleasant, and Dr Scott is so careful to describe everything he is doing — in plain English. Such s refreshing experience!

Moreland Vision Source is a great place! Fast, friendly and very helpful. I expected a several week delay in getting in for an appointment, and they had an unexpected cancellation, and they got me in the next day! I would highly recommend them!

Just had a new eye exam. Glasses I’ve been wearing were really quite different than I needed.
Turns out my exams weren’t as through as I previously thought.
New glasses just came & I’m astounded at the difference in my overall vision.

Portland is awash in flashy, high-​priced vision centers, where you can shop for $ 1600 wood-​rimmed glasses. Since I’m someone who doesn’t have vision insurance and is looking for an exam to support my Warby Parker and 1800Contacts orders, I’m not generally popular with the optometrists. After making several calls on the hunt for a bargain exam, I found Moreland Vision Source. They quoted me $ 151 for the exam, including a contact lens fitting. This was comparable to Sears and Lenscrafters, while still being a locally owned office. I made my appointment and arrived on time.
There was apparently some confusion about my arrival time, so I ended up waiting about a half hour. I arrived in a bad mood, so I was kinda sitting there, marinating in all my awfulness. My mood quickly changed when the assistant arrived to complete the first part of the vision test. She was friendly and professional, and it was obvious immediately that the test was going to be detailed and thorough — which is exactly what I wanted. I really liked that the equipment and devices were a combination of older, tried and true methods, and newer technology. The second part of the exam by the optometrist himself was also friendly and professional, as well as thorough, and when I was given my first two lenses to try on, I was amazed at how much better I could see. I was given five days worth of trial lenses of one brand, and an additional five days of another brand to see which works better. On the way out, I received a «buy our glasses» pep talk from one of the front desk workers. The frames on display are a nice combination of affordable and designer, and I did get a clear picture of what I’ve been missing out on through ordering online. I still can’t afford the full priced frames, but when I can I’ll be back to Moreland Vision Center.
After leaving Moreland Vision Center I felt even more pleased by the exam, as blurry shapes have come into focus and distant text is once again fully legible. This is a great option if you’re looking for professionalism, affordability, and a careful exam.

Thank goodness for the awesome staff at Moreland Vision Source. I started using them in 2008, and immediately knew this was a classy and professional office. They proved themselves again recently when just a week away from leaving on a trip to Italy my prescription sunglasses broke and were not able to be repaired. In a desperate gamble I dropped in to see if there was any way I could get new glasses before I left. Not only did I find awesome new frames but they were able to guarantee I’d have them in 7 days — which is a miracle. That kind of service is invaluable and I am truly grateful.

Wow! This was the EASIEST and MOST FUN time I’ve ever had getting an updated and accurate prescription as well as new frames. Thorough testing. Choosing new frames has always been the difficult part. Are these the correct ones (with my lightly dilated pupils) for both the progressive lens but also the width and shape of my face and my coloring? Thankfully, Jennifer Repp assisted me and not only did it feel like I was with a professional, friendly, personal shopper, I felt confidence in her and with her opinions for my best experience. Best of all? My new glasses were ready within a week and they are FANTASTIC! Wow. (Did I already say that?) One more BIG plus: OFF-​street parking (!!!) in cute and busy Westmoreland. Convenience!

I loved everything about my visit with these guys — how quickly they got me in, the friendliness and attitude of the staff, how quick but thorough my visit with the doctor was, the selection of frames, and how well they explained my cost breakdown and my insurance. I will absolutely be going back and would recommend this place to anyone.

The entire staff at Moreland Vision Source are friendly and courteous Dr Scott is through and very patient He really cares about what he’s doing. I especially like the help you get in picking out frames. I cannot see without my glasses on and their help in invaluable. They will give you an honest opinion on how the frames look. If for any reason your new glasses are not working out they will do everything they can to make it right never doubting you they will listen to everything you say.

I had a very good experience for my annual eye exam and a prescription for contact lenses. I thought their self pay price was very fare. The optometrist had great bedside manner.

I have a significant prism prescription in both directions — my eyes don’t track correctly — and I need the prism to be correct to keep from getting headaches. I had my vision tested in another office, and brought my prescription to Moreland Vision to look for frames. I liked the people, who were very helpful, and I was expecting everything to be fine.
However, when I got my glasses, they turned out to be missing the prism correction. I am afraid I will not be going to Moreland again — I can’t imagine why they didn’t check my glasses before they dispensed them to me.

A+++ Have been going there every year since I can remember. Always knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. What more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

I started going to Moreland Vision over a decade ago. When I moved 2 hours away I made sure to try and keep them as my primary even though insurance didn’t cover it.
It had been almost 4 years since I had called for an exam or to get new glasses and contacts, so you could imagine my surprise when I phoned for an appointment and the lady on the other end remembered me; beyond seeing my name on a caller id, she asked about my son, asked if I still played softball and how my grandma was doing. The level of comfort and professionalism is beyond stellar!
I’ve never had problems with my lenses or contacts and they’ve never tried to take advantage of me financially. I’m always pretty open about not having optical insurance and since I have to pay out of pocket I’m not ever in the market for top of the line, but they have always worked with me to make sure that I’m getting dependable, comfortable products within my price range.
I absolutely love these guys and am going to be sad when we move to Virginia (even though I don’t make it in to see them as often as I should).

I have been going to Moreland Vision Source for about 8 years and I have always found the staff friendly and Dr. W is very personable and professional. i have found great frames at Moreland Vision Source too and they have prices that are in keeping with the industry. If I have had a problem with my glasses– need frames tightened or any issue they are right there to help. I like the neighborhood feel of the office too. I feel very comfortable at MVS and enjoy the banter of the staff.

I don’t understand the negative reviews here. Who would have thought that plastic frames fatigue and break, or that scratch *resistant* lenses might, you know, scratch? Nearly everybody, is who.
I’ve been going to Moreland Vision for four years now, and have always been treated fairly and pleasantly. I recently developed cataracts and required surgery. Doctor Scott and staff coordinated things with Pacific Cataract and everything went smoothly. The follow-​up checks have been thorough and informative. Billing is sometimes uneven, but insurance companies are notoriously fussy; at times it’s like dealing with petulant five-​year-​olds. I’ve never waited more than a couple of weeks for new glasses, and the staff has always done a good job of fitting, replacing pads, etc. Adjustments are always free for the life of the frames. Since I’m diabetic, the eye test results are forwarded to my regular physician.
I used to go to the cheap chain store places like Pearl, but after poor exams and prescriptions that made me see double, I gave up on them. I’ll take professionals over salesmen any day.

Awful customer service– It took over a month to get my glasses and they said I could pick them up at Taco Bell next door if I couldn’t get there in time-(nice) without even fitting them to me. They they said I could come on Saturday but to come early because they might close early. I wont go back.

Went in yesterday, it was my first eye exam ever, if you don’t count sitting at Costco booth «MANY MANY YEARS AGO.»
I was kind of nervous at first because my co-​worker told me some thing about dilating eye drops use for examination, which didn’t happen here, I think Vision Source has newer technology now. lol
The front desk & optometrist assistant? (not sure of her title) was wonderful, she was very nice, sweet, funny & made me feel welcome. Yeah, she made thing go smoother for me, since I’m a curious creature and easily entertained.
Glad, I went in even with 2.5 stars (I’m an Unilocal Elite, normally I don’t look at anything under 3 stars). So yeah, I had a great experience, everyone there was super nice & sweet, and smiley too.

The doctor is great, he is wonderful — but I paid a ton of money for really bad glasses. The lady who fits the glasses couldn’t care less if the glasses fit you or even if they are what you are looking for. The first pair I got were too small, she gave them to me when they came in and said goodbye. Never even offered to adjust them. Then, I got a pair of sunglasses. They came in, too big, and weren’t even sunglasses! They were tinted glasses! You could see my eyes clearly and didn’t look at all right in the sunglasses frame when they clearly ordered tinted glasses! Again, tossed them to me and said goodbye. I’m glad I finally found a trustworthy place to go to now. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!

I agree with the other review that Dr. Wojochowski and his staff are really thorough during the eye exam, and they are certainly friendly and professional. When I lived in Sellwood-​West Moreland, I used this office with no complaints for two years going to eye exams, letting them collect my insurance money, and ordering my contacts’ supply… then I needed new lenses for my glasses.
Delivering my new pair of glasses took them three months due to mistake after mistake by them. First, the lab they contract with broke my original pair of frames, which I had owned for about five years with no problems, so I had to go in to the office to order new frames. Then, they returned my new scratch resistant «crystal clear» frames, which I paid an extra out-​of-​pocket cost for, with a huge smudge-​like scratch the size of my pinkie finger, so I had to bring them back in to get another new set of lenses.
You would think the problems would be over at that point; however, the scratch-​resistant lenses after a few months developed a hair-​line scratch about half an inch in length, and I know the treatment they claimed to have put on my lenses works because my husband had the same treatment on his glasses, done by another doctor/​lab in Boston, about five years ago and he still has not a scratch in sight on his pair. Finally, my frames, the exact same type I had prior to ordering them from Moreland Vision Source which I owned for five years before they broke them, snapped in half yesterday after less than two years of ownership.
Overall, if you never experience actual problems or need anything other than for them to collect your insurance money after the eye exams, then I suggest you use an eye doctor who contracts with a lab that knows their business.
