This might be my favorite sushi place in town. The fish is always super fresh. They have interesting(& delicious) special options. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I hear their ramen is really good but I always just get a bunch of nigiri and maybe a roll. It’s not too pricey. Regular sushi expensive, nothing crazy.

This is our go to ramen joint. We love bellying up to the bar ordering a couple pieces of very fresh sushi… And I always go for my Veggie ramen. My other half switches it up. But it’s always something with meat. Pork. The noodles are always perfectly cooked, the broth is fantastic the portions are perfect. I love all the bok choy, mushrooms, onion –always cooked to perfection! It’s clear they have it down to a science and never deviate so you can always count on the perfect bowl!

I wanted awesome ramen! I wanted spicy ramen! I wanted a raw egg in it! I didn’t get it. By the end of eating all the noodles, because I was starving, everything was tasteless. I ordered spicy. Zero spice. Z E R O. I should have noticed that my egg was going to come hardboiled, it said so right on the menu… Cute place. Good service. OK Ramen.

We swung by for a late lunch last Friday. The place was packed at 1 pm save one little table. We ordered some sushi and a couple of bowls of ramen. I need not even detail the presentation, the taste, the composition. It was all excellent. Everything was done exceptionally well. This is my first five star review.

Went with the g/f specifically for ramen on a cold, rainy night, and it did not disappoint. Both of our ramens were great. The atmosphere was a little posh, but it was nice to be able to get a good cocktail with my ramen.

Who would have thought that we would be looking for fancy ramen after eating it so much in college? The wait can be long because it’s not a huge place and apparently, it’s pretty popular to some. They have a wait list you sign up yourself as you walk in, there isn’t much of a «waiting area» though. We wrote our name down, a phone #, and a note that we were down the street at the bar waiting. They gave us a call when our table was ready so that was awesome we didn’t have to stand awkwardly there with other people– we could go to a bar and hang out! We walked in and the guy apologized because he gave our table away, we were okay because it took us longer to get back anyways. It was a blessing in disguise because we got to sit at the bar right in front of the ramen maker. We ordered shrimp sushi, plus the scallop sushi roll as a starter. I’m pretty sure the scallop wasn’t cooked, a little different then what we were expecting but still very good. I ordered the vegetarian ramen and I was not disappointed, it’s salty because all ramen is but there was just so much flavor and goodness going on. The best part? The bill was so cheap for starters, a beer, and two ramens! A win for a date night for two. Highly recommended. Sitting at the bar and watching the people working is one of the best parts as well, they work so quickly and it’s awesome to watch how good they are.

My girlfriend and I went to this place for dinner, and it turns out to be one of the worst experience we had for Japanese food period. We ordered a spicy tuna salad, Wagyu beef and mushroom, some nigiri, and a bowl of ramen. The tuna salad looked bad and tasted bad. The Wagyu beef tasted very low quality and was very oily. The fish on the sushi was okay, but the sushi rice was mushy and warm. And by the time the ramen came I have lost all my appetite. The ramen turns out to be the best dish out of the whole meal, but still just an average bowl of ramen.

One of the only restaurants open on Christmas Eve with wonderful service. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because I just wanted that impressed with the food. The octopus/squid/shrimp salad was nice and light. The b-6 sushi roll was good but could use a little more sauce on top. The tonkatsu ramen just wasn’t that flavorful and my noodles were still stuck to one another. Perfectly fine place to get some sushi and ramen, just not someplace I’d be in a hurry to return to.

My boyfrend and I both ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen($ 11.50 per bowl). It came with 1 piece cha siu, half and egg, some mushrooms and bok choy(other vegs too). The broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I wish they gave more slices of cha siu though since one isn’t enough but you can always order more.

Mirakutei is open and airy with big large windows to look out of, if you have cat like tendencies like I do, then a seat by the window is an ideal place to dine. We came here for sushi and izakaya, and noticed after we ordered that several other diners came for the ramen. We ordered gyoza and the meat combination skewers. The beef was tender and flavorful, but the pork belly was the star of the show as it was savory and delightful. The sushi seemed like it had great quality, we ordered several rolls, some pretty standard rolls. The presentation of the tempura tuna roll was elegant, very well put together. You can definitely spend quite a bit here, without really noticing. I’ll have to come back for the ramen, as a majority of the diners and reviewers seem to like the ramen best.

Good ramen! The nigiri sushi is served in single form — Tokyo Ginza style! Great customer service by Miranda and great management by lead sushi chef Jason. Impressive ごちそうさまでした。

I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen. I found the broth to be extremely flavorful! The noodles were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this ramen. The staff were very friendly and our food came quick(during lunch hour). I like this place better than Biwa or Noraneko.

Had the tonkotsu ramen here and it was only meh. It doesn’t compare to the ramen that we have here in California. Also, I thought there was not enough noodles. There was a bunch of bean sprouts and other assorted veggies as filler. I was pretty hungry soon after. For me, I wouldn’t come back for their ramen.

Loved the vibe here. Lively but not too noisy. Servers are very nice. Chefs are ok. I had mixed feelings in the food. The tempura eggplant topped with spicy tuna was very tasty but the tempura itself was not crunchy. Dish would have been A+ of the tempura was done right. Also had the scallop and uni. It was meh. Good but nothing special. Looked great on pictures tho ;) Had a couple of nigiri orders(salmon belly aburi, aburi belly, amaebi…) Overall… nigiri was ok. The fish was pretty good but what messed everything up was their rice. It was not prepared well and ruined the fish. Also had some handrolls… they were good but pricey for what it was. I would recommend a try as I liked the atmosphere and menu. The nigiri is served by per piece orders(which I like) and prices weren’t bad. Hopefully it was just an off day for the rice portion. PS: If you order the amaebi… be sure to ask for your fried head as they wont serve it to you unless you ask for it

This was a delicious spot my friend and I stumbled into while wandering around Portland. We sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chef was happy to accommodate special requests. The staff was friendly, the fish was fresh, and the ramen was delicious. Thank you!

Mirakutei is always being recommended to me. One of my friend loves this place, she goes at least once when she is home. Finally, I was able to try it a few weeks ago when I met up with her and another friend. We went at lunch time around 12:30pm and it was packed, but we were able to get seated at the counter. My friend tells me that she typically has to wait an hour+ during dinner time. There were two servers and it was slightly difficult to get their attention because they are in hurry to serve everyone, however, it was very efficient. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with egg, Seared Salmon, and a Tempura Shrimp roll. Our orders came out fast! The noodle soup bowls came out before the sushi, probably for the best that I didn’t get too full on sushi before trying the ramen. I like the flavoring for the Tonkotsu broth, it was buttery and creamy. The only thing I didn’t care for was the addition of the egg because it’s hard-boiled. I am particular about perfectly cooked egg and have a preference for soft-boiled, especially in broth. It was a pretty decent bowl of ramen! The fish is delicious and fresh. Only con is that it’s expensive, they charge per piece of nigiri but it’s worth it. Good atmosphere, small space… definitely anticipate a wait when going. If you are looking for a warm bowl of soup, I recommend coming here for their ramen.

I found them based in Unilocal. I found my experience to be average. The sushi was good the ramen was good. There was only one ramen that was vegan friendly and the potential to make it great with lots more veggies was missed. The service was stressed, delayed, and friendly but struggling. The table next to us found a huge piece of clear plastic in their ramen. That was unsightly. Because tables are so close you hear and see everything. They did refund the man even though he ate it all. Yuck. They need one more server on the floor when it’s busy. Too many chefs behind the sushi bar but not enough proper help for the tables. Or at least someone to notice that service is delayed and struggling. I think the popularity of this restaurant should be reevaluated stat.

(4 stars) Best ramen I’ve had in Portland thus far! Savory broth with lots of noodles. It came with a boiled egg, bamboo shoots, corn, bean sprouts, and green onion. My pork was spot on, unlike the pork they serve at Boxer Ramen. :) (1 star) Gyoza was terrible. They did not taste fresh, definitely frozen. But it wasn’t that it was frozen that bothered me… When the server brought it out, they were drenched in oil. They were soggy and they fell apart right when I tried to pick them up with my chopsticks. Definitely not worth paying for. I could make frozen ones better myself at home. :\ Will only be coming back for the ramen!

So far this is the best all around veggie ramen we’ve found. We’ve had better noodles, but the broth was very good here. The veggies tasted like they were grilled before getting into the soup. I recommend you avoid the seat in the corner on the booth. The a/c is blowing so hard that when I put some pepper in my ramen half misted away onto the table. It’s not even warm outside.

I’ve been to Mirakutei a few times and have never been disappointed. My absolute favorite dish here is the eggplant tempura with spicy ahi. I’m a big fan of spicy ahi and tempura sushi dishes in general, but the combination in this plate is definitely my favorite. I’ve also tried a couple of the ramen options and enjoyed them a lot. It’s not the best ramen I’ve ever had, but it’s very delicious! During my last visit here I came towards the end of their lunch hour and was happily surprised with lower prices than their dinner menu. There was also no wait time to be seated. However, I know that they can get pretty busy at times, especially for dinner, so be prepared to stand outside while you wait for an open table. But even if you do have to wait, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the food!
