Laurèns the best! Got my lashes down for my wedding, and she did exactly what I asked for. I love them, and now I don’t know how I’ll go without them. It’s the easiest thing getting ready in the morning now!

I’ve been going here since 2012, and I haven’t been anywhere else since. I used to get my lash extensions done in Hawaii, but since moving to Oregon for school, I had to find somewhere new to go. Midori is great! She does a nice job (full, thick lashes), only takes about 30 minutes, and has very reasonable prices. She always does what I request. I’ve also noticed much improvement over the past few years. During my first couple sessions with her, I felt like my extensions would fall out easily/​not last very long, but now I can’t think of anyone better than Midori. Her lash extensions are amazing!
Her salon is very clean and nice. She also plays very relaxing music that I love to listen to while she applies my extensions. Since starting optometry school, I have not been able to drive out to Portland as often to get my lashes done. I have sadly been resorting to lash perms instead (which she is also very good at). She has been very accommodating with me switching between perm and extensions while I am on break from school.
She is super easy to contact via texts, and she always sends a reminder text the day before your appointment.

I have had lash extensions before by Lash Out Loud in Puyallup, WA and I liked them but I felt they were never able to give me the exact look I was hoping for. After moving to Portland, I thought I would give the extensions a try again and I’m so glad I did. Midori was my lash expert and can I say just how great she is! I arrived for my first appointment and she was very sweet and knowledgeable, which made me feel comfortable about spending the $ 160 on the first set. I told her exactly what look I was going for and about an hour and a half later, I got exactly that! I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Midori!

I received my first set of lash extensions at Midori after lots and lots of research and consideration. Teri was my stylist, and while the lashes were certainly pretty and very natural looking, they were not what I expected which was to have them look at least as thick/​good as when I wear mascara. I went back for a refill and reiterated my expectations and was told that it’s very hard to put in a lot of lashes with the thicker extension, so I left with a similar result. My full application appointment was just under an hour and my refill was ~20 minutes.
I wanted to be sure that my expectations were realistic so I had my lashes redone at a different salon and left with at least 2x the number of lashes on each eye which gave a natural mascara look I was hoping for. It took every moment of the 1.5 hour time slot and I’m much happier with the result.
The Midori salon is very nice and comfortable. I’ve had my eyebrows done there and they do a great job, I just won’t be returning for lash extensions.

So i didnt know my appointmentwas done my midori’s assistant. Her name was Tara, Tera or something. It was my first time visiting, and i didnt know mine would not be done by Midori.
First, it scared me that the assisstant looked at my eye lashes and said, «oh, this will be done earlier than i thought. One hour.»
What??? Full set in one hour? Noway. Other slons take about three.
She also added, «im going to tell my next client she can come sooner.»
Hmm. Seriously? Am i not worth the time?
Anyway, I never have problems with lash extensions. But since she did mine in such a haste, the tips of the lashes towards my skin did not attach properly. Hence, lashes are spinningand poking my eyes. 1/​5of them fell out and it has been 6 days since i got them. And i am really carefull about extensions– the one that i got from miss knockout lasted me full 2 months.
I hope midori contacts me after reading my review… The service was just horrible. 1 hr for full service? Looked good at first– after two days they were flying everywhere.
Sigh. I will try them again as they are cheaper than most places but im gonna get them done by midori.

Very high quality, fast, super easy to deal with. I’ve been going to Midori for two years and didn’t realize how good she was until I had to go elsewhere because I was out of town for an extended period this summer. After trying two other people while on the road, I realize how fantastic I have it with Midori as my usual lash extension expert. She really is an expert and very professional too.

Seriously, amazing! My lashes looks gorgeous beyond my expectation. Midori really knows what she is going! I’ve had my lashes done before and she let me believe that’s the best she can do for my type of lashes (Asian lashes. Not thick or long). Plus is always felt «fAke» But midori did a miracle. It felt like silk! Not hard and plastic feeling…

The owner Midori is amazing. I first started coming here about 6 years ago, I only recently got really into writing reviews so please excuse the lateness. My friends and I were heading to Vegas for a bachelorette trip and wanted to get some extra beautifying done. We had heard about Midori but it was only two days before our trip and we had 4 girls that wanted in. I called her up and she said she would stay after hours for all of us and got us all in on the same day. It was so relaxing and I was able to even fall asleep. It was only suppose to be a one time experience for me but needless to say after six years I am still going back every month.

I have nothing to compare them to, but the experience exceeded my expectations on a number of levels. Setting up an appt was so easy (central system that texts), Teri was fun and wildly talented, and these lashes are so much cooler and easier than I thought! I also love the touchup policy (one rate regardless of how long it’s been). Highly recommend it. Oh, and the MLK address doesn’t show up in maps — put in Wygant and MLK.

All I can say is Midori is amazing! In late 2013, I’d been talked into some lash extensions by a friend and I knew someone that owned a lash extension business back in California. She said I could get FREE lashes if I let a student use me as a model. «Sure! That would be awesome!»
To make a very long story short, they looked awful and incomplete and I hated them.
Cut to a year and change later, Id chosen Midori to see if I could get the beautiful lashes I’d failed to previously. I’d stalked her on Unilocal and her website and figured I’d get what I was looking for from her.
Cut to my appointment time and after a little door trouble (you have to be buzzed up), Midori and I got to talking about what I was looking for. I didn’t know what to say besides that I want beautiful but not glaringly obvious fake lashes. We decided on a B curl since that’s more glamorous than a J curl but not as «hello!!» as a C curl. I knew I was in the best of hands!
When I was done, just 40 minutes later, I had a gorgeous set of lashes that even my boyfriend loves (he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of false lashes). Midori has yet another loyal customer; she’s the only one I’ll let touch my lashes now.

Great first experience with lash extensions — the owner explained the process and answered all my questions professionally. The first time requires you to fill out a multiple-​page form with background on your skincare and health, etc. — as well as to find out how to get into the building. LOVED that the owner sent me a text before the appointment to confirm and provide some detailed directions on where the building is (just found it confusing that the text did not mention that you have to dial on the keypad outside the door to get in — but it did mention the name of a different business with a different door!). At any rate the process was very relaxing although I was a tad apprehensive for some reason. 45 minutes later I walked out of there realizing I really wouldn’t be needing to put on make up other than lips/​cheeks. My eyebrows and lashes were beautifully done and I looked like I’d spent 10 minutes putting on brows and mascara. I wasn’t sure I wanted to commit to an ongoing thing — I figured I’d do it this one time and then for any other special occasions — but think i’m going to invest the $ 35 every three weeks to get them refilled and maintained. Highly recommended.

I am so happy with Midori! I have been other places for eyelash extensions and had a horrible reaction. She fixed the problem, and I would highly recommend her to my friends and family! She is amazing!

My eyelashes are straight as all get out. They’re long & they grow straight down. I never had a problem with the way they looked until I was teased about it in elementary school. Kids can be so cruel sometimes. Ever since then I’ve been self conscious of how my eyes look. I didn’t discover the eyelash curler until several years later & since then I haven’t left the house without applying mascara & curling them first.
I heard about eyelash perming awhile ago but never thought to research it further until I came upon Katrina W.‘s five-​star review for Midori Lashes. One of the services I found that Midori provides is eyelash perming & for an amazing price of just $ 35. I recommend it to anyone looking to temporarily lay to rest their eyelash curler or for those looking for that extra beautiful curl to their lashes.
The whole process takes about 30 min & for the most part it’s very relaxing. I say for the most part because at one point when you’re just about to drift asleep you’ll suddenly be awakened by an unpleasant odor of what smells like rotten eggs. One of the applications has that distinct odor & it’s quite strong but it passes quickly. The rest of the session is fragrance free. The first time I did the eyelash perm it lasted about five weeks. This is one to two weeks longer than most clients I’ve read about online & it’s the cheapest rate I’ve found in PDX. Win Win!
I’ve had both the J & C curl perm now & for my lengthy lashes the J curl looks the best. My soon-​to-​be MIL has short lashes & the C curl perm was recommended over the J, & her lashes look really great. We were both very happy & satisfied with the results.
Midori is very kind & takes a lot of pride in her work. She corresponds through email & text so it’s easy to get a hold of her as needed. Her studio & two rooms are very peaceful & private which makes it even more relaxing.
We have plans to return for another perming in the near future as well as eyelash tinting for the MIL. I can’t get enough of my curled lashes & hopefully my positive experience has helped with your decision to try out the many, successful services Midori offers.

Excellent place to get eyelash extensions. These ladies know what they are doing. You can be assured you will get professional, precise beautiful lashes in a comfortable, clean setting. I highly recommend Teri, the technician I go to. But one of my friends tells me Midori is also wonderful. Not all lash salons are the same, do yourself a favor and go to the BEST first.

After reviewing Unilocal for the best lash place in PDX, I decided to give Midori a try. I’m really happy I decided to go there. Midori is very friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and concerns before starting. I got a full lash extension. Other places I’ve gone to, it usual has taken 2 hours. Midori was done within a hour. She’s really fast. Also the results looks amazing. I love how they turned out. Her pricing has also a lot better then other places I went to. Your getting a great value. I will for sure be returning in a couple of weeks to get my fill done when needed. If you need a place in Portland to do your lashes, i would highlight recommend Midori.

As noted in a recent ROTD (woohoo!) for King LASIK, I’ve become the proud owner of a brand new set of eyes this year. No more contacts! No more specs! Jeepers! Creepers!
So the logical next step for a girl with factory-​fresh eyeballs is to celebrate with eyelash extensions, right? RIGHT!
While I had been a long-​time lover of fake lashes, and was enthused (and I mean ENTHUSED!!) about the idea of eyelash extensions, I was finding myself peppered with naysayers. Ladies whose extensions had done them wrong. One whose lashes looked like stringy pieces of baby-​fine hair. One whose real lashes had withered to nubbins over time and extensions. One who’d had an allergic reaction to the glue and had had to cut off her own lashes. Stuff like that.
Naturally, I was nervous. Especially since I’d just already nervously spent $ 2500 on shiny clearly-​seeing eyeballs that I wanted, like a mama bear, to fiercely protect. And decorate.
But I still WANTED them!
Thankfully — and I’m not even being sycophantic here — there was Unilocal.I read the story of another woman with a bad experience at another salon, and then followed her breadcrumbs to a winning experience with Midori.
Midori does a full consultation before you ever lie back and let her flutter your lashes for an hour. She answers any questions you have, gives you details on the technique and type of glue she’ll use, and asks you about your lifestyle, your job, your personal image, your vision, before she sets you up.
With Midori’s recommendations, you’ll get to select the type of curl (I’m a J, not a C), the length, and the thickness of the lashes. She gave me a length suggestion, for example, based on the shape of my eyes, and said that based on my office-​casual type requirements, if I went any longer everyone would notice my lashes and I would start to hate them. After my consultation, I was sold.
In her studio (which is super private, in that you make an appointment with her, get buzzed up into the building, and are the only one with her in the studio) I laid myself down for an hour, chatting for a bit, and then drifting off into wonder-​land. When all was done, I asked her if clients often fall asleep. She said, yes, every one. It is So. Relaxing.
When it came time for the Big Reveal, I got short-​breathed with nervousness. Oh, God, I thought. Baby hair. Showgirls. Glue-​induced blindness. Oh godogodogod… but…
They were BEAUTIFUL. Exactly the lashes I’d wished genetics had given me. Not distracting, not silly. Just subtle and beautiful and MINE ALL MINE.
I’m not a girl who goes and gets her hairs did, or massages or manis or pedis. But THIS. This I’m making a regular thing. So now you all know where I got these peepers.
Which reminds me, I’d better make my next appointment. This lady is busy as all get out. It’s no mystery. Midori sings the fluttery siren song of the lash extension, and it’s simply impossible to resist.

I looked everywhere (on Unilocal!) for a beautician who could do a good eyelash perm. Midori is friendly, professional and the lady to go to. I wish I still lived in Portland because I would have carried on using her services. Definitely the best eyelash perm I have got in the States!

Japanese women get lash extensions the way American women get manicures. I am saving my manicure money and spending it on lashes. Why spend $$ on your hands when people look at your EYES more often. These lashes make you feel gorgeous, I promise!
In November, I made the mistake of going to Kalista Salon because Midori was booked around the holidays. Of course she was booked! She’s the EXPERT. If there is anyone better at this anywhere, I’d be shocked.
The lashes Midori puts on are worth every dollar — and the wait — I should have waited for Midori in the first place but now that I have my soft, beautiful mazing lashes from Midori I am hooked.
And BTW — it seems a little pricey the first time but Midori didn’t charge me full price because I already had crappy lash extensions from Kalista. Then she tells me that touch-​ups are minimal cost — which they are. the next day she texted me to see how I was feeling and if I still loved them. I did,

I love Midori. Let me just say it again, I LOVE MIDORI!
As someone with super fair and super sparse eyebrows, I am just short of psychotic when it comes to getting my brows done. Midori is incredible at what she does… And this is apparent whenever I try to get an appointment with her and she’s completely booked!
Anyhoo, for fair-​haired ladies, Midori is your woman. Lash tint, brow tint, brow wax, she’ll have you looking fly. And can I just say her lash perms are THE BUSINESS! She’s never done anything less than a perfect job with it.
On a side note– I also love the fact that I can text her to schedule appointments: P

I went in for an eyelash perm and was unhappy with the results. While Midori was friendly and the environment relaxing, the treatment felt rushed. When the process was completed, my eyelashes had a slight crimp instead of even the slightest curl. I also had lost eyelashes in my left eye which was quite noticeable.
I’m disappointed since being a regular traveler to Japan and eyelash perms being so common there as well as large cities such as NYC, SF, and LA, this has turned out to be a $ 45 mistake. I’ll be getting my eyelash perms during my trips out of town.
