Worst Mani/​Pedi and Experience EVER! I have lived in the NW and tried many a nail salons. Recently moved and thought I’d try out Midas for convenience sake.
Had my mani and pedi done simultaneously, which was fine, since I wanted to be in an out anyways. After my mani/​pedi was done, they literally just left me on the pedi massage chair with wet toes and fingers, and the lap board with a dirty towel with dead skin on my lap and just left! No one was around and being 6 months pregnant, had to waddle off the seat by myself. Move that lap board aside, and find my flip flops.
Looked closely at my pedicure and it is bubbly, and at least 1/​8″ thick! Mani was messed up since i ruined it because i had to put my own flip flops on.
Asked them to touch up my toes, and when i got home, looked more closely and to be honest, my pedi that I had on from 3 weeks ago looks better than the one i just got!
So disappointing!
Paid before they painted my nails and tipped 20%!!
No wonder they give you a punchcard for 10^th mani free, and $ 5 dollars off next visit.
No thank you! I will be walking further 10 more blocks to my regular mani place!

Best pedicure I have ever had. Very relaxing great atmosphere the music is nice great place to unwind

This is a trusted location. They are always open when I need a manicure, and always have available spots for a group of ladies who need pedicures. I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to get seated. I have had a few bad occasions here where the nailists made my fingers bleed and cut off entire toenails. Luckily I take pain pretty easily and neither of these occasions hurt. I will likely find myself coming back time and time again for it is always there for me!

I’m so glad to have this great nail shop right down the street from my house. The staff is so friendly and always able to get me in– even when I haven’t made an appointment. My shellac always lasts 2+ weeks and even a regular pedicure last 2 weeks or more. Their prices are fair plus you get a nice massage and a drink with your service. I’ve had several different technicians do my nails and its consistently perfect. I also get my brows waxed on occasion and they do a great job. Check them out– you won’t be disappointed!

Pleasantly surprised!
I went to Midas because they were the only nail salon on the street that was open until 8pm, but I didn’t realize I’d been missing out on this place!
For my manicure, I got a glass of red wine, a warm shoulder wrap with good smells, a meticulous manicure with a good, lengthy arm massage in the middle, and at the end while your nails are drying (they dry inside the desk you sit at so you don’t have to move) you get a back rub! And not just a little back rub, this was like 10 minutes!
You definitely get the most bang for your buck here. Plus, it’s in an adorable old craftsman with a lot of character and great views into trees.
The only thing that was kinda disappointing was that there were a few fruit flies buzzing around me at one point but I didn’t let that ruin my experience! Even the most organized of us get fruit flies occasionally! And the place was really organized so it didn’t seem like a contestant thing that they had fruit flies.

Walked in on for a much needed relaxation pedicure. It is a very nicely decorated and clean eatablishment. I was greeted and sat in a pedicure chair immediately. The pedicure started off like any other, but the gentleman whom was doing my pedicure had a very heavy hand and was roughly and quickly was pushing back my cuticles. Ouch! Luckily, that didn’t last long and the relaxation piece followed. Unfortunately, the relaxation piece didn’t go as well either. The stones meant for the massage and the towels used to wiped off the skin oil were extremely hot and felt like it was initally burning my skin. I just wanted my toes done and over with. As if things couldn’t get any worse, my big toe was smugged immediately after walking out, even though I sat waiting for 20+ minutes and was told they were completely dry. $ 25 for a pedicure, I guess you get what you pay for.

Update to my last review… Though the experience was great, I felt my mani/​pedi just didn’t last as long as I would have liked. I’d definitely come back for a quickie, but I was a bit bummed to see my nails chip in a week.

Was an okay place, kinda went hour before they closed and its up stairs, next to a coffee shop that stay up late. I definitely recommend going if your not in a rush and was a good price of 25 $ for a pedicure. The workers are super nice and very relaxing with hot stones and hot towels!

Came in for the first time, as it was recommended by a friend. I was there for a mani /​pedi and seated right away. The girl doing my pedicure was very attentive and did a great job. Right after she started, another employee came over with a tray and said she would do my manicure at the same time. I should have protested. I came in for the relaxation of the pedicure and foot and leg massage but could not relax at all with someone working on my hands and feet at the same time. It was the most annoying spa visit I have ever had. Not only was it not relaxing, but when the girl doing my pedicure was trying to massage my feet and legs, the woman doing my hands was raising her voice to her because it was causing her to mess up my hands.
When they were both done, I was left in the chair while they went to do other customers, never to return. I don’t mind that they went to take care of other customers, but I did not know when my polish was dry.
I finally decided to get up and leave and I ended up smudging most of my finger nail polish. I then had to search down someone to pay as all employees were busy doing nails. The woman who did my nails saw the mess they were in and did offer to fix them, which I really appreciated, but I was ready to be out of there by then and just had her remove all remaining polish on my hands .
I wish I could love this place but I’m not returning. Please take into consideration the experience your customer is looking for and not try to rush things for your own convenience.

Unfortunately I was disappointed with this nail salon. The service was good and the setting is really comfortable, but my manicure wasn’t done as well as expected. After just one week, my nails looked like the needed to be redone — even with shellac! Even though this location is close to home, I won’t be going back. Very kind staff though!

Great service!!! I came with a friend for gel manicures. She called about 15 minutes before we got here and they had two stations waiting for us. Once we were sitting down we were both supplied with hot packs to go around our neck which was very relaxing. After the polish was applied I received a little massage on my neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. Really appreciate the time given by these ladies! Would definitely come back if I was ever in the Portland area again.

very interesting location for a nail salon but once we sat down, everything was great. my friend and I were treated very well. got the deluxe pedicure which included hot wax, massage, hot stones, soap scrub, mud. the whole deal! the two helping us were very friendly and sweet. great experience for $ 40.

I’ve been going to Midas for almost a year now (getting a shellac manicure with the occasional pedi every 3 weeks) and I’m so sad to say it’s gotten worse! Holly and one of the other girls do a great job. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen them there lately. My gel and nail shape have been uneven consistently (even the color) and it’s getting a little old. I just got my nails done a week ago and they’re already lifting. It’s hard to leave Midas with the huge selection of gel colors they have and the great location but I might try to find a new salon.

The staff here were all so nice and accomodating. We were able to get manicures and peticures pretty quickly, and added a 15 minute massage too. The prices are very reasonable and they give you a $ 5 coupon for the next time you return. I plan on coming back here!

New favorite nail shop. Fab neck and shoulder massage and perfect gel manicure while watching oak leaves flutter out the windows. Dreamy!

This is one of those places where I’m tempted to not write a review because I don’t want even more people going :)
My mother and I get our nails done here every two weeks. My shellac is always perfectly intact by the time I come in for my next appointment and they work very hard to make sure every walk in and phone appointment can be seen.
I think it’s important to note that this place does not focus on speed. If you want a pedicure in 30 minutes this isn’t the place. They include hot stone and shoulder massages in your service and really take the time to clean your nails and nail beds.
If you want beautiful nails, it takes time. The primary focus of this salon is executing the best manicure or pedicure possible at an incredibly reasonable price. Go in and relax, let them take their time and you absolutely won’t regret it.
This is by far the best nail salon I have been to in the Portland metro area.

Great little spot! After a few weeks of hiking with my boyfriend, we decided to treat ourselves to pedicures, which my boyfriend had never experienced before. They do honor the 15% off upon first Unilocal check in, which is a pretty cool deal.
We were driving into Portland after our hikes, and the first thing I wanted was this pedicure. Midas was the only place open past 6 on a Sunday night (they closed at 7), so we called for a reservation at 6:45 due to time constraints, and they were super sweet despite the timing.
The salon is located in an adorable old home-​turned business building, with a café on the first floor and the salon on the second. The salon was well-​kept and very tidy.
The polish selection was really great for both regular and shellac. After picking my color, we were taken to the pedicure chairs. My boyfriends chair had the built in electric back massager, but mine was broken, which was disappointing. One of the employees came up to offer us a selection of drinks, including hot tea, water, and red and white wine. I don’t know about the wines, but we both got hot tea, and it was complimentary.
Then the pedicures began. We both got the $ 25 spa pedis, which included the foot soak, cut, file and cuticle work, lotion massage, calus treatment and exfoliating scrub. Mine also came with a standard polish, which was an additional $ 15 for shellac, a bit steep in my opinion.
But the work was well done! My nail tech had great attention to detail, and my boyfriend loved every second of his experience. A new nail tech took over to do my polish, which turned out great. They even treated us to hot stone massages, which are a part of the deluxe package, for no charge. That was fabulous.
With the 15% off, my total came to $ 34 and my boyfriends came to $ 21. A great deal for the awesome service.
Tl;dr– Great service that includes above-​and-​beyond amenities and awesome attention to detail when it comes to pedicures. Be sure to use the 15% off!

Don’t trust the Midas touch. They’re nice, holly is great, they were slammed and literally running around. The nail technicians were literally running around because they were busy running back-​and-​forth between the two rooms they keep all their stuff in a little closet so they are constantly getting up and going to the little closet.
One time she was getting out an ingrown toenail and she shoved some kind of instrument into my toe to get it out and left it there for a solid thirty seconds while talking to her neighbor.
I think my experience was probably not very good because there were 4 really obnoxious customers there who were asking the nail techs how long they’ve been in America. so rude and annoying.
At one point my freshly painted toe was run over by a little stool that they sit on so its smudged didn’t ask them to fix it because it already took 45 minutes for a pedicure.
Then they asked me to go wash my hands didn’t tell me where I had never been there before and then when I picked up my own purse to move it because every other place will grab your stuff for you and move it to your next location for a manicure this place doesn’t do that apparently the girl got mad and told me to go rewash my hands. My French tip on my thumb is crooked but the rest of my nails look good. Overall I was there for an hour and 30 minutes I had a pedicure and a shellac manicure my toe is smudged and my finger is crooked. Skip this place.
Oh and ask to skip the arm massage, it actually hurt, there’s a reason they do nails and not massage.

I am a snob about neat, precise, full-​coverage shellac manicures. At first I was sat down with a technician who seemed a bit less experienced – she did my filing, cuticles, arm/​shoulder massage, etc. She used a kit (buffing block, cuticle clippers, under-​nail cleaner) that was NOT sanitized and had clearly been used already. She kept pausing to text on her phone, and she did not understand «rounded square» no matter how many ways I tried to explain.
The manicurist adjacent to us was doing a beautiful job on her client’s shellac; I was ready to ask if she could please do my paint, as I was wary of my technician’s precision and general ability.
GUESS WHAT
She was ushered out by my coveted manicurist, and she basically re-​did everything the previous girl had done – filing/​buffing, cuticle touch-​up, etc – with NEW TOOLS and proceeded to give me the most beautiful and precise shellac I’ve ever had. She stayed well after closing and asked if I would like another coat for better opacity… She was even surgeon-​like in her focus on my top coat. I had asked for a flower and her nail art was BEAUTIFUL and fast. What a pro!
If Holly (the perfectionist) was doing my manicure from the beginning, this would be a five star review. I’m absolutely going back for all my next manicures, but I will be sure to ask for Holly.

The first time I got a nail set done here, it was flawless. Every other time I’ve been here the service has been sloppy and inconsistant. The fill I just got was just bad. My nails are crooked and the polish is a sloppy mess. I don’t know if I’ll return. They should let the employees that are good at certain things stick with what they’re good at. It seems like the guy who did my nails should not have been doing them. Just looks terrible.
