The baked goods been consistently tasty and good. I enjoy their variety and freshness.

These pastries are fresh, flakey, buttery and delicious! They have cheese! They have ham! They have buttercream! Raspberries, blueberries, gourmet berries, yumberries! Did I mention flakey? My god. This place was the place I was searching for my whole life.

The mango cream cake I order was not only beautiful but delicious. The cake was light & not to sweet with a whip cream frosting, fresh strawberry & kiwi on top.
I will define til order my cake there again!

Most BBQ pork sticky buns may look the same on the outside, but they’re not all created equal on the inside. What I mean is that some have a good amount of meat inside, and others have just a tiny «smear» of meat so small that it’s hardly noticeable. Meianna Bakery makes the good kind.. .with a lot of meat. They have several shelves displaying a vast assortment of different kinds of savory buns and sweet pastries, and some small tables in front of their shop where you can enjoy them there. My quick lunch today consisted of a meaty pork bun and a tasty egg tart which had a nice flakey crust. Inexpensive and satisfying. Also, since they’re located inside the Fubonn Shopping Center, there’s plenty of parking all around.

There are so many things to choose from in the bakery. Everything is fresh. You’ll always be able to find something you love

This is a great hole in the wall little asian bakery, in fact it is my favorite asian bakery in Portland. I have liked everything I have gotten here but the pineapple puund cake is the best! It is sweet but not to sweet, with a subtle pineapple taste, It comes in a small loaf so good for a snack if your hungry, two if your not, all for barely over a buck
The egg tarts here are good to but sell out early. They are yellow and eggy deliciousness. Like the pound cake they are sweet enoph without being over sweet. Also like the pound cake they cost just over a buck.
Service here is always good. They are inside the Fubon Mall just across the hall from the Fubon grocery store.

If the names Honey Senpai or Mei Tachibana are familiar to you, I think you will love this place. The trays that you use to load your order and bring it to the counter (just like in Sukkite il Nayo), the strawberry cakes with their abundant pastry cream, I could go on and on and sound like a crazy otaku.
Actually, even without being an animé fan, the baked goods here are pretty good.
I only tried three things but each one was fabulous.
First off, the strawberry cake. Not only was it delicious it was also beautiful to look at. But to be honest, most of the cakes in the cases at Freddies, Safeway and Albertsons are easy on the eyes, but the flavors are painful, like expecting fried chicken but getting canned chicken instead, this happened to me once, what a bitterly disappointing experience.
Anyways the cake layers were light and airy, a delicate Japanese sponge, the likes of which I was only able to replicate in my kitchen during a mild autumn evening. The strawberries were perfectly ripe and tangy, the perfect accompaniment to the sweet cream filling.
We tried two other breads, one was a melon bread something I’ve wanted to try for a very long time. It’s called melon bread because of the way it looks not because it tastes like melon. The bread was lightly chewy and had the distinctive sweet melon looking layer cooked on the top. I wasn’t sure I would like this because it reminded me a bit of conchas, the breads typical of mexican bakeries. I grew up in California and have tried over a dozen conchas and have decided that I just really, really hate them. But the melon bread wasn’t terribly sweet and didn’t have gritty sugary layer of a concha.
The last thing we got was a bread filled with a cheese custard, honestly I don’t know what it was called and next to the strawberry cake, I liked it the best. It had the same bread as the melon bread, but was filled with a sweet cheesy custardy mix. I know, custardy isn’t a word, but calling it a mélange of cheesy delight is a bit over the top.
Other people have mentioned poor service, but I thought the service was fine, they even gave us a fork and very carefully packaged the delicate slice of cake.
I’d go here again.

This place is okay. We stop by here for egg tarts after shopping at Fubonn. They don’t have much of a selection compared to other Chinese bakeries in the area. You can always find parking and it is very easy to get to. The ladies behind the counter don’t ever look happy either.

Clan showier in Sourdough bread is a symbol of the city sour roll contrasts with the velvet cream. Perfect match.

This place has a variety of asian-​style baked goods, emphasizing in Chinese pastries and such. They have a many common Japanese-​style goods as well. Though I haven’t tried everything, I haven’t gotten something I haven’t liked. Other than the Pork buns, I have tried all of their Japanese items! Worth spending a few bucks to try a few items and see what you like!

Service is kind of crappy but the baked goods are pretty decent. It’s conveniently located right in the Fubonn Shopping center for those quick stops before or after grocery shopping.

This place is very interesting. I really want to give this place 4 stars, but I think I need to give this place an couple more tries before reaching that 4 star status.
I will say that the cream puff was to die for, not that super sweet and it was pretty much perfect. Lady was very friendly since it was our first time in Portland and I truly thank her for that.
The hot dog in the cheese bun was pretty bomb too.

Asian bakeries are pretty much always good. Especially the ones that have egg tarts. They don’t have the largest selection here but they’re limited by the size of the store.

I wasn’t too impressed with this shop. The breads didn’t look very appetizing so I actually didn’t buy anything but I did end up trying the coffee roll cake and taro pastry that my friend bought. The Coffee roll cake was surprisingly good but I didn’t think the taro pastry was special in any way. I don’t think I’ll be coming back because in my opinion it’s not worth the trip here.

There are a lot of good bakeries in Portland, but not very many are Asian or Chinese bakeries. Meianna is the only one that I have visited. It recently opened up a Seattle location on MLK in South Seattle recently which piqued my interest.
The Meianna in Portland is located in Fubonn Shopping Center which is the largest Asian mall in Oregon. It is a bit depressing to visit though since many of the spaces here are vacant.
The bakery which is across from Fubonn Supermarket is rather small, but it does offer a lot of goodies. They have items like breads, cakes and pastries. Though some of their offerings are a bit different from the usual Chinese bakery assortment.
The pricing here for the breads and pastries is quite good. Cheaper than Seattle area Chinese bakeries and you don’t need to pay tax here either. I tried a couple items from here including a pineapple and sweet potato bun. The pineapple bun was okay, but the sweet potato one was really delicious.
The one thing that makes me give a three instead of a four is that some items did not seem that fresh and soft when I was picking them out. Particularly the breads which felt a bit hard. Though I think a quick zap in the microwave would make them just like new and out of the oven. A counterpoint to the freshness point was that the sweet potato bun kept quite well in fridge. It was nearly a week since it was bought, but it tasted great when I consumed it.
Found Meianna to be pretty comparable in quality to the Seattle area Chinese bakeries I frequent. Just might have to give the Seattle Meianna location a visit.

I always stop in for a danish style cinnamon raisin roll when i am in the area, which is not that often.

This place has lots of chinese pastries that remind me of my childhood. Last year I got a cake chinese chestnut birthday cake from here because it has been sooooo long since I had one. It was great! They don’t have it there normally but you can order it in advance. Their bread is really good and they have both taiwanese and HK style buns.
I just wish they had curry beef or chicken buns/​puffs. I also wish they were closer but it’s probably better for my waistline that they aren’t.

With the Mid-​Autumn Festival occurring on September 30, I traveled to Fubonn at the end of September. Mooncakes galore. Basically, it’s a pastry that may have different flavors of rich, thick filling, ranging from red bean to lotus seed.
I channeled the Hawaiian panda in me and got a small pineapple-​filled mooncake for $ 1.99. Beautifully crafted and pretty tasty. Frankly, it was my first mooncake, so now I’ll be sure to buy more when I head back.
The display case has several cakes and tarts that look amazing — almost too stunning to eat. It may have been quite crowded due to the Mid-​Autumn Festival rush, but otherwise, no problems on my end.
Staff there was fine. They may not have been extremely friendly, but they weren’t rude, either.
I’d call it an OK first experience and will stick with a more middle-​of-​the-​road rating right now. There are a lot more items to try, anyway. I hope to return in the future!

I had strawberry-​cheese pastry thing. Didn’t get any cheese, but it was tasty enough. Was kinda disappointed there were no green onion rolls.
Bought some pork buns for snacking at home. They were nice!
Would return. Props for having egg tarts.

It’s a really small bakery in the Fubonn Plaza. It’s kinda cute how they have them all packaged nicely and put out.
The price isnt bad either.
I’ll take one star off for being inconveniently located inside the shopping plaza and another star for not speaking English very well.
