I’ve been to this pub several times and have to say that it’s a great little neighborhood pub. The food is great, they have good beer on tap, and they have a pool table. They also have a few TV’s. The times I’ve been in it hasn’t been crowded but there isn’t a lot of parking anyway. I am hoping they may have outside dining eventually, maybe once summer hits. The staff are friendly and the owner is there most days. If you live inside the Mill Park Neighborhood, give this nice little neighborhood pub a try!

Saw this tavern during my frequent trips past 117th&SE Division and wanted to check it out because the place has been completely remodeled. Very pleasant ambiance inside. Everything is fresh and new. The menu is a bit upscale from typical SE tavern food and there are a number of dining booths. Several big screen TV’s offered a variety of things to watch, if you were inclined. I had a turkey sandwich with a side of salad. Lots of turkey and fixin’s on the sandwich and the salad was a serious heaping bowl of mixed dark greens and other veggies. We don’t drink alcohol so I couldn’t vouch for the bartender’s skills. The staff were very pleasant, chatty, and attentive. There was a separate room for the pool table and video games. I’m rooting for McGee’s because It’s a nice place and I’d like to see it stay.

Id like to eventually give more stars but I think 3 is fair for now. In the few months that McGees has been open, there has been quite a bit of staff turnover. This is a neighborhood bar so I’d like to be familiar with the bartender and servers. The food is above average bar food. They use organic beef for their hamburgers and they are great for dining in or take out. I’d like to see a few more options on the menu, but I understand it is a small pub. Video lottery is available in the back as well as pool tables.
