Well, you’d probably need more help than what they can offer here, but what they do have at Max Muscle is a nice selection of supplements and shakes and the staff has been pretty helpful with recommendations moreso than the GNC or whatever in the mall.
I’ve been here a few times when I’m in Portland to pick up some items that I usually get, some protein shakes, vitamins, etc. Staff has always been friendly and they have a TV and some nice couches and its pretty chill. Surprisingly easy access in the Pearl district.

I grabbed a Groupon for this place a while back (can always use discount supplements) and finally went by. Nice enough location, brand new and while a bit out of my way, conveniently located a short walk from the Johnson streetcar stop.
It was empty save a lone employee but he dropped his sandwich and hopped right up to service me. Great guy (name escaping me) and ridiculously knowledgeable. Selection is a bit overwhelming but no matter what level you are, it seems the place is setup for all. Fast-​burn proteins, slow-​burn, macronutrients, micronutrients, whole meal replacements and everything you need. There’s even abundant literature to guide you towards whatever your looking for.
After going over the top to help me narrow in my purchase choices by giving me a lucid and lengthy explanation of animal versus plant-​based protein choices the guy even gave me an generous sample of their ARM (post-​workout recovery). Great service and true faith in their products.
If picked up a giant container of MaxProtein meal replacer and a new blender bottle. Wasn’t cheap even with my coupon, amounting to about $ 50 even. It’s damn difficult to compare powders without just listing ingredients but seems comparable to Muscle Milk in terms of nutrients, etc. Not quite the pack of Monster Milk, but close. 3g Creatine, 35g protein, 280 cals a serving. High quality and delicious.
