Sushi Land began in Japan’s Kansai area in the city of Okayama with a goal: to provide fresh, high-quality sushi at an unbeatable value in a fun and friendly environment.
History
Established in 1991.
Sushi Land, also known as Marinepolis, first opened its doors in Okayama, Japan in April, 1976. By using only top ingredients, freshest fish, the family’s secret rice recipe, friendly service, and amazing prices, Sushi Land expanded rapidly on Japan’s west coast.
In 1991, the nephew of Sushi Land’s president, decided to bring his family’s idea to Beaverton, Oregon and be the first «kaiten,» or conveyor belt, sushi restaurant in the Pacific Northwest. By continuing to use the family’s secret rice recipe, special soy sauce, fresh ingredients, and friendly atmosphere, the decision to bring Sushi Land to America was a success.
With prices unchanged since opening day in Beaverton in 1991, Sushi Land has grown to more locations throughout Oregon and Washington.
Come give the Northwest’s original kaiten sushi restaurant a try!
