This clinic does NOT know how to give a blood pressure check properly for a commercial driver med card exam. Their assistant was ready to give me the arm band WITH MY SHIRT ON AND ON THE LEFT ARM! I quickly told her no… you don’t give a pressure check with this arm and with a shirt on. And then she told me leave my arm in my lap, which I didn’t know was the incorrect way.
When it was all done and the machine gave out 5 readings, they all indicated me having high blood pressure… something I have NEVER had a problem with in my life. I ride bicycle 365 days a year AND do cardio workouts constantly. I knew this had to be wrong. So I went to my primary physician and got a check done and all 3 readings were waaay lower, including a manual test done. The assistant did the setup correctly.
So I go back to Manual and get restarted with my arm level, instead of in my lap and the readings came out lower as I expected. So this is the part where the Medical Examiner (not doctor!) is supposed to admit his assistant is at fault right? Wrong… he never admitted anything. He just wrote me, what he called a year long medical cert, but it was still dated the original expiration date of January, yet this re-​exam was in May!
I didn’t even bother to complain because he already wrote it out and THEN proceeded to tell me it will be a year instead of the standard 2 years, but you know what… they will never see any of my money again.
I agree with other reviewer, Stephen and his staff are very welcoming, but they have some retraining to do! I could’ve took it the legal route to set things straight, but it was only $ 50 and I don’t currently drive for a living, so it wasn’t that big a deal.
