Laura Russo Gallery

Do you enjoy viewing contemporary Northwest artwork in «a variety of media including painting, sculpture, works on paper, and fine art prints?» I do. Especially when the folks showing it to me are both knowledgeable and friendly. The price of admission for such a pleasure– free!
I know, I know, it sounds too good to be true.
I’ve been to other art galleries where the folks who work there judge you the moment you walk in the door. Not so with Laura Russo.
Recently my friends were in town and wanted to see some work from local artists so we stopped by the Laura Russo Gallery in Northwest. I wanted to see the Roll Hardy portraits but they were not on display. ( Unilocalers can check out his stellar paintings anytime at Produce Row.)
However, the two women working that day were extremely helpful and informative. They even went to the trouble of bringing out the paintings for us to see. (Despite the fact that we don’t look like high-​rolling-​art-​buying-​types.)
My only criticism is that the space was a wee bit cramped and there were many amazing paintings I didn’t get a chance to see due to the size. Based on all of the fantastic work on the website, I thought this place would be much bigger. Because the space is a little cramped I wouldn’t recommend folks make a special trip to visit unless you are interested in art currently on display. However, in my experience, the folks who work there were more than willing to bring out other pieces so poke around on the website beforehand. For those who are already planning to be in that part of town-​enjoy contemporary art –for FREE. Check this place out.
