Best Breakfast Burrito I’ve been able to find in PDX thus far. I moved here from Phoenix and this is the closest I can find that is comparable to Filaberto’s. If I could change one thing it would just be the kind of cheese they use. Tortillas are good. Not gummy or soggy. Very filling and inexpensive. $ 6 for any bfast burrito and it’s easily 2 meals.

La jarochita is a high quality Mexican food cart. Today I ordered the vegetarian taco plate. It came with two tacos and rice and beans for 6.50. Everything was yummy but the tacos were just rice, beans, lettuce, and a little avocado. If the tacos had some grilled veggies like onions and bell peppers this would have been 4 or 5 stars. Good nonetheless.

Mmmm chorizo breakfast tacos are kinda my favorite thing ever. Seriously, get them. Excellent hangover breakfast. Lunch burritos are also pretty damn amazing, but beware the breakfast burritos — they have pinto beans and rice in them, for some reason that rubbed me the wrong way — no beans with my eggs please, it’s already explosive. You know what I mean.

I love Mexican food and I’m originally from LA, so whenever I am in the mood for Mexican I usually stop by this place for lunch. Their burritos are definitely the way to go because you get the best value. All of their burritos are pretty hefty so you may want to take a nap afterwards. I like that they give you the option to customize your burritos.

We travelled down to Portland from Vancouver, BC for a stagette, and to do some tax-free shopping. We had some free time to kill, so while all the girls hit up Target and Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale, I hit up the food stands — even though we were set to have dinner in the next 1.5 hour. I initially hit up a pierogi stand and thought it was a good appetizer, but then I couldn’t help myself when I was passing by La Jarochita 2. It was only $ 1.50 for a taco, 2.50 for a tostada. I don’t think I’ve ever had a tostada before, the difference being that it was a fried flat taco shell. So I went with a spicy pork tostada, with a cup of horchata(cinnamon rice milk) for $ 1.50. Best $ 4 I’ve ever spent. Everything was so fresh and hot off the grill. I wished that I had more time(and that didn’t didn’t start at 6pm) so I could snack some more. I would have happily had more of this as my dinner! Anyhow, I would def come back here the next time I’m in Portland, whenever that may be!

Ah!!! So annoyed at other reviewers leaving rave reviews and not giving 5 stars! This cart deserves 5. The service is always spot on as are their tacos. I have yet to venture to other items as I love them enough to not leave them. Chicken and Asada are my go to — though I have tasted almost all of them. I always go dairy free as the meat is too good to cover up. Guacamole sauce is great too. Mmmmm!

The tamales here are really good. The sopes could be better if they used cabbage instead of lettuce because it’s kind of watery that way. Over all pretty good for a food cart. Again tamales are delicious

I love the breakfast burritos here. They have so many options. Breakfast menu is available all day. Portions are great and the price is reasonable.

Plain and simple, this place makes some of the best burritos at damn good prices. Their menu is full of variety and their burritos are big, plump, and very cheesy. They do offer a vegetarian menu, but their typical burrito has nothing green about it. Its probably not that good for you, and its AMAZING. Get the avocado salsa!
